Hi Brad - Would you consider expanding this video to include importing the applique into Silhouette all the way to cutting the fabric and embroidering the design? I have not found a video that shows how to get from the design to the fabric to the embroidery machine. I watched most of your videos yesterday and got a lot of good information. Thanks! Shanon
Hi Brad- thanks for the video! How would you add a zigzag after the the running stitch that tacks down the fabric? I have seen this in other designs I have purchased and I like the way they stitch out. Thanks in advance for the help!
theres no simple way to do it. you have to break up the applique, duplicate one of the segments, convert it to a satin (steil) stitch, remove the underlay and turn the density way down, and make sure its in the right order.
Hi Brad, a couple questions. My computer crashed in February and I lost total control pro. The fonts are what I miss. Is there anyway to get the fonts back. I know it’s not supported anymore. Another question. Adding stops when doing names stacking. I’m having trouble getting the stops to work.
Will you be doing a Magic Wand demo with newer updated FTCU, as stated below by another user, it will ding at you and not select a specific area, also I notice the on screen stitch out look great -minus couple area that it ding'd at, however when saving the file as Save2sew only choice was I digitized or I did not digitize, no magicwand option. You videos and explanations are awesome and hope to see more in future.
Did they remove the option to fill with the magic wand lately? I have a new floriani and is impossible to select the complex fill WITH the wand, is there something I'm doing wrong?
Thank you for this tutorial! I have a question. Is it possible to do a satin stitch for the outline of the image? For example the outer lines of the yellow and black part, and leave the purple part fill stitch with this method? I had an issue with digitizing my image where it had a gap between the white circle and the black outline. On the software, it showed the stitches overlapped each other, so I assumed that it was going to work out just fine. I'm not sure why this is happening, and if you have experienced it yourself. Hope to hear from you soon! Also, I'm using a Brother PE-770 embroidery machine, and this is not my first embroidery machine; I went from a Singer CE-250 to a Brother PE-770. Thank you :)! Edit: I will be trying this method out when I get home. Hopefully, it will solve my previous issue.
Kim F no but i've since stopped telling people to use the magic wand because it's more work to adjust it to allow for overlap to reduce gaps than just drawing it with the line tool manually.
Hi Brad - Again, just found you today an am very glad. I am taking a crafts class on digitizing, and there are materials in a zip file to download, and then put into whatever embroidery program you have. I have Floriani. I know I downloaded the files, many times in fact, but can't seem to get them into any floriani anything. Help! Thanks. Jil
Hi, I have watched you use this magic wand in 2 different programs and I would like to use with my MasterWorks III software but it doesn't trace in a nice line along the edges. It kind of scribbles all over the place. Maybe a setting I need to change? I would love to see you create a design using this tool in MasterWorks. Thanks
The magic wand is not good in Masterworks, sadly. It's the same with the new version of floriani, too. Its better in the long run to trace the backdrop manually in any program though, keep practicing!
I seriously Hate The Floriani Total Control I Have wasted over $2,000 on this program should have bought pfaff 6D full version instead. My windows keeps crashing with the software and my husband bought me a new laptop computer Apple and of course It doesn't have 2 operation systems like most programs have i can't resell my software either i'm beyond disappointed.

honestly the magic wand doesn't work very well in ftc u so i probably won't do a video on it

if you use the magic wand, gaps are inevitable, its best to draw it manually and build in overlap
When you say "draw it manually and build in overlap", is what you are doing in this video?
