    I'm a paramedic firefighter in a major city, I see all sorts of disgusting things people do to animals, do to each other.
    If we turn a blind eye to one of them, it may worsen as time goes. There's always something we can do.
    We make excuses to say we can't help them all, but help one, when we can.
    Who knows, we might need their help one day too

    My first husband was an abusive alcoholic. His favourite saying was no body no crime.
    It took me 5yrs to finally get away.
    It had got to a point he was going to end my life or i his. It is not worth being arrested.
    Stay strong and groovy.

      You did the best thing you could do, something that took great courage. People like your ex are broken inside, and unless they're willing to recognize it they can't be fixed. From your remark I assume you remarried. I'm glad you gave yourself the chance to be happy, and to make someone else happy.

    I'm an ex-victim too. Luckily for me it was never physical, but damage is done all the same. Nothing makes me happier than seeing other victims finally break free, and nothing breaks me more than seeing them unable to.

    I never thought about the wife being abused from her husband I was wondering about why didn't she be descreet about it while he knew the cops were called on him (I'm not making this rude I'm just wondering about why she thought there was no way out)
    I've watched this 2 times now and I consider it the best episode

      If you have not experienced abused then pls don't judge the way she handle it. FYI it happens in real life. People say why not leave when you get the chance, it is easy to say but being done is different.

      When you are in that situation, you feel there is no way out, all your defences are low, and you feel totally worthless, and if you do manage to escape, they find a way to drag you back in the end one of you end's up either dead or seriously injured.

    People say don't put up with it, ask for help, but even the people who are paid to do something can't or won't, and then when it's too late they say "if only we'd known" or say how awful/tragic/sad/unnecessary it was🙄

      @SutterKrump as the child of an abuser and a woman who knew what he was and thought she could change him, you are correct about some of them, however it's not true for everyone, because some of the abusers have spent so long learning how to hide what they are, that they keep the mask up until they have you right where they want you, then they don't have to hide it anymore and by then it's not that easy to get away.

      Well, if you look at the stats more women are killed by their partners than the other way round. And the firefighters were not portrayed as perpetrators. It showed that some men are violent and that some women are victims of their abusive husbands. In Germany and Italy, for example, every 3-4 days a woman is killed by her (ex) partner.

    Everyone supports this battered wife and that's good, but please note this woman chose to marry this abuser. Identifying an abuser is not difficult. Not marrying an abuser is absolutely not difficult. So maybe focus on not marrying abusers, then we will completely avoid all the symptoms from marrying abusers as depicted in the video.
