I agree with you on seeing Chandler a little differently now. First, acting “fatherly” in helping take care of the triplets and in episode 6, acting “husbandly” caring for Monica. They mesh so well together because they are both caregivers in a way to their prior roommates. I love how he lets his guard down little by little and welcomes commitment. And Monica is patient with him knowing his issues (but at the same time, holds him accountable when he acts too immature). Can’t wait for the next one!
Departing from roommates is such a surreal thing even if you hang out with them all the time. It’s such a visceral experience and there’s such finality to it that I couldn’t stop myself from crying. Love that they captured that moment

Fun fact: David Schwimmer directed E6, first of 10 episodes directed by him in the series. The others are 7x04, 7x07, 7x09, 7x16, 8x02, 8x08, 8x12, 9x05 and 10x09. That moment between Ross and Rachel in E4 is so heartwarming but also sad and frustrating. It's so clear they still love each other but neither of them come right out and say it. Btw, in S5E11 Ross said that his New Years resolution was to have just one divorce (with Emily), so he broke it. Also the moment between Monica & Rachel and Chandler & Joey at the end was so sweet too. Joey saying "the only thing I'm gonna miss is YOU" hits so much harder after Matthew's passing 💔 And Joey is right, Porche is pronounced as "Por-shuh". Also, Matt LeBlanc would actually own a couple of them when he became the new host for BBC's Top Gear in 2016.
Although the writing can be predictable sometimes, I do enjoy the subtle brilliance. For example in Ep5 here, Chandler has grown up one more step, since he's actually enjoying spending time with babies. Even though he's new and not enjoying the dirty parts of child raising, he did step up in the end while grimacing in disgust haha. When Phoebe trashed the apartment, Chandler automatically empathized and defended Phoebe, because yeah, that's gonna be the reality once you have 3 babies. He's not fully ready to have kids yet, but the Chandler of this Ep 5 is a different Chandler than the one who started dating Monica.
I don't know where I first read this, or saw this, but I always believed that the best relationships are when you're with the person who's strong in your broken places. In the show... that's Chandler and Monica. They complete each other.
This was the first episode to be directed by David Schwimmer! Ross doesn't feature that much in the episode as he was also behind the camera. I think he did a great job

Ngl the fight between Monica and Rachel is sad especially between best friends. Its also unnecessarily went 180 real quick. But what i dont get is, Monica decided to attack Rachel on an emotional level knowing damn well how the relationship between Rachel and Ross was, yet when Rachel chose to match back the energy and hit her with that subtle Chandler diss, all of a sudden she cant take it and storm off like a child. Like they were both acting like kids for reasons we got to know but Monica keeps dishing out what she cant take and unfortunately,that's one of the reasons i dont like her. Prime eg: all Rachel did was be mean about her OCD but Monica's comeback was to practically call Rachel a slut for how she dresses Also it goes back to the point i made in the beginning of their relationship when i made a comment about how the only one who stood for Mondler was Joey. Ross holds them up both for it during the moment he found out to the end of the series,Phoebe constantly tells Monica she could do better, which she could. Love Chandler but Monica needs someone on the same wave length as her mentally and Chandler wasnt it. And Rachel makes comments like she did in that argument every now and again. I dislike Mondler alot but knowing her friends have also said similar things i say, kinda hurts.

It’s pretty accurate to real life if you ask me and I think most people would agree it’s a relationship that’s enjoyable to watch because you know regardless of how many times they both mess up and can act like children, their love keeps them together which speaks into the insecure parts of each of us that feel we’re unworthy of that affection. I know people accuse Ross and Rachel of having a toxic relationship but I don't really see that. They both make mistakes for sure but I can see that they do love and care for each other. I think their chemistry is just amazing.
I think their chemistry is perfect for the will-they-won’t-they. But… (Spoilers!!) The writers just kept and pushing drama after drama on them instead of either letting them have a very slow burn and relieve the tension at the end of the series or do a will-they-won’t-they for a season or two and then let them have a good relationship/break up and be done with it. The reason why I think their relationship is terrible is because despite their great chemistry, they spend a lot of time hurting each other (to add drama to the show). You can have great chemistry and still not have a functioning relationship. They don’t really work on their relationship or apologize, it’s always drama. It got repetitive and they didn’t evolve. I got bored by it. If you’re friends with your ex, at some point you have to deal with the consequences of your breakup, self-reflect and make up or stop being friends.

Especially about Ross in general, like he's the most "toxic" man to ever be on tv or something. 🙄 I saw one person, with a disturbing amount of likes, saying that they "swear there are times when Ross and Rachel are fighting where it looks like Ross is about to hit Rachel". Like - what in the actual hell. 🤦🏻♀ It was one of the most unhinged things I've ever seen someone say about Friends and it had like 15 likes, ugh.
