Dude no joke. I am relearning to skate after a like 7 year hiatus (besides some light riding/manuals) and kick flips were always my worst trick. I watched this and just almost landed 2. And that's during an after work session.
jos nedrow i was no were near landing this i even bought volume 1 of braille skateboarding to learn even though this is to years after it was uploaded it was the most helpful thing ever THANK YOU
Man you are the FIRST person to say put your feet where YOU feel comfortable 👍👍👍👍 I always put them where they say it's "best" and end up rocketing the board 10 feet away!!!! Watching this vid has already helped with at least getting the proper rotation 👌 now if I can just land back on the board with 2 feet ND ride off without being bodied lol.....great vid man!!!!!!✌
He covers everything. This guy is a god. I just made a video needing help kickflipping and now I see how to so much better. I had the problem that the trick tips I watch telling e to catch it with my front foot. God... this guy is amazing
Ik this cracks me up. So many tutorials tell you to not do something and then they exhibit a kickflip and they do the very thing they say dont do haha.. But still land it. So confusing
That was a sweet Lesson. It wasn't so redundant that I lost interest and had to skip around lol. I'd love to see you do one for a plain old Ollie. Seems like 99% of youtube just tells people to smash their back foot down and slide the front foot up and hope you eventually figure out the details yourself.
a year has passed since i 1st started and i learned an ollie lol shuvs and mannie (frontside and back kinda) and im starting this next year with the goal of learning moving tricks i hope i can come back after 2021 to update my progression its been fun and i hope i keep this passion for skating throughout my life
4:34 I can't believe it! That is exactly what I was thinking about and I was wondering why on earth nobody tells you this! It is one of the most helpful hacks out there!
I think what helps alot is if you are over rotating, you put your (front) foot more far forward, and if you are not rotating all the way,you put your foot farther back. Also to commit what helped me was to not think about it and just do them as fast a I could.Eventually I landed with both feet without even trying to because I wasn't thinking at all,it just happened.
Francisco Estrada yeah I landed my only kick flip while holding on to something and not looking. Tomorrow I’m gonna do it without holding on and not look. Thanks for reminding I was gonna do it but I forgot. Also thx for the tips as well I’m gonna use them 🙂
Bro I have been having the same problem you use to have I finally have the confidence to land on the board and I finally landed a kick flip this is the most helpful video I’ve seen man
For me, the greatest tip I ever got and would be confident in giving others is to stay over the board at all costs. It makes a lot of sense really because some people jump away from the board or kick the board away and wonder why they can't land a trick. The board has to be under you if you want any chance of landing any trick.
I've been skating for 2 years...1 year ago I could land a lot of standing kickflip. Now if I land a kickflip, it would always be like him at 1:07, but my pop foot touches the ground... WHAT SHOULD I DO
OMG i love that hand trick!! I keep landing only my back foot. I don't have the fear landing both feet i think, but i get used to land my front foot on the ground and can't get rid of it. I will try this hand trick tomorrow and i will update it when i land with my both feet. I hope it will be soon...
I watched this video and immediately went into my back yard and FINALLY GOT KICKFLIPS!!! AFTER 20+ YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was totally the jumping straight up tip I was missing.
I just learned a kick flip a little while ago and honestly find a foot placement that’s above ur board Bc I would always lean back and my front foot couldn’t land it even if I tried and then once u have a good foot placement kick the bored hard and jump high and find what works for u these videos kind of made me overthink everything no offense but I think the half kickflip is a good confidence builder and a good way to learn to land back on your board
That thing with the front foot landing will for sure help, i just thought that I was flicking to much down or something but I was just trying to catch it with my front foot thinking that it's correct... I will try it next time. Just waiting for a new deck. THX for this video 🙏
I have been skating for just over 2 months now and can do a good lot of tricks and I was close to kickflips and couldn’t commit but this motivates me man thanks
Great video, iv just started landing them. But only stationary and my back wheels have to be on a crack lol. Can't wait to try some of your tips for a moving kick flip. Thanx man 🤙
Just landed my first kickflip, this video was the only one that helped dude and everyone be saying that but it actually helped, like Tbis video was just the simplest and just made the most sense bruh
I just wanna say how come when I do the flick the board just shoots out but instead of me flicking out I flick down and it actually spins and I find it easier than the other methods people use, I pop, slide up to the corner top and flick my ankle downward and it looks so better
I’ve been away from RUclips for the longest but damn i came back to 18K views. Thank you to all i hope you keep shredding and learning new tricks ❤️Much love ! Also follow my instagram to see more recent skate clips/edits: @gtnyc._
0:28He says: It doesn't matter where you put your feet on the board it's all the same just put them where it feels comfortable. Every skate trick tip says to put your feet in an exact position. He also says: Put your front foot underneath the bottom bolts, and your back foot on the center of the tail, that's the best area to have them and it gives it the best rotation and its just the best spot to have them. So basically put your feet in this exact position. So basically I just totally did the opposite of what I said, LMAO!
I've been landing like sideways for like years, I could get perfect rotation at any angle since I was 8 but no one ever made a video on commitment, thank you. I'm afraid to land flick kickflips because they come back and FUCK my shin
whenever i try my kickflips when im landing my front foot just automatically moves to the round and only my back foot lands does anyone have any tips on how to get over this? It would be very appreciated
this was literally the most helpful kickflip video i have watched

Ik this cracks me up. So many tutorials tell you to not do something and then they exhibit a kickflip and they do the very thing they say dont do haha.. But still land it. So confusing

That last part should be in every tutorial
0:28He says: It doesn't matter where you put your feet on the board it's all the same just put them where it feels comfortable. Every skate trick tip says to put your feet in an exact position.
