I know that this has been said a thousand times but Leslie and Ron's friendship is arguably the best thing about this great show. The dynamic between the actors is fantastic and the dialogues are some of the best for a sitcom.
I'm also glad that it never tries to or flirts with the idea of crossing into romance. Even in this video, Ron explicitly defines it as a friendship and nothing more. Too often, I feel like these things become romantic or the idea is played with and thus I have to roll my eyes at people I watch shows like this with who think it could be a thing. But in no uncertain terms does Parks and Rec define their relationship as strictly a friendship and I do love that very much. Platonic relationships are underrated. It's not that there aren't enough platonic relationships between members of the opposite sex in shows like P&R, but, they often play with the idea of romance even if nothing serious comes of it.

Leslie and Ron have one of the best platonic love relationships I've seen in a sitcom. I thought Parks and Rec nailed two outstanding characters, and then showed us the kind of people they'd be attracted to romantically, all without muddying up their friendship. It's definitely one of my favorite parts of the series, especially because Ron and Leslie are so VASTLY different; sometimes they're even completely opposite, yet there is a ton of mutual respect and admiration. Leslie is exactly the person you need when your assistant books a year's worth of appointments on the same day, and Ron is the person you need to punch a %^&* out at your wedding.
But they are both honourable, loyal, honest, brave, kind, tolerant, enthusiastic, confident, moral, respectful. You're right they are vastly different, but also very similar. Someone like Jeremy Jamm is vastly different to Ron.
