Thank you very much for that. I’m having fun with the channel…. And my airplane - especially this week. Oshkosh is a blast and it hasn’t even officially started yet. Flying in is half the fun.

Like your idea take it easy!!!! And maybe even get gas-filled up around Oshkosh... ( So many good airports around )and arrive early or late in the long evenings in Wisconsin summertime... Be aware of the Wisconsin weather and thunderstorms they don't always convenient for arrival and departure times...

Exactly. I filled up and overnighted at MSN, and their fuel was 5 something… so a good price that close to OSH and great service from the FBO

Personally had to hold at Green Lake for about 40 minutes due to a crash on the field. It was the scariest 40 minutes of my 40 year flying career. What could possibly go wrong with low altitudes, water birds, planes barging into the hold…truly frightening. Luckily my Velocity had excellent visibility but even with that, we had to take evasive action for geese and seagulls half a dozen times. My advice for anyone contemplating holding at any of the lakes…DON’T DO IT!!!!!

WOW! Sorry to hear that… good point about the birds. I didn’t think about that. Definitely an extra threat
