Thank you for being so intellectually unselfish with your teaching! You not only teach the classical art of bonsai but you also teach people to think artistically subjective so each person can produce something different and personal. You are such a great teacher!!!

Thank You Master Chan, for sharing your wisdom and expertise with us common folk! I met you when, to my delight, my son, when asked what he wanted for his 14th birthday, replied, "Bonsai"! In researching how to trim the creeping Juniper I already have, I've fallen in love with everything about you; your artistic talents, passion, Heron Nursery, anecdotes on life in general. Because of you, I will be able to make a beautiful bonsai to give my son. If everyone in this world was more like you, this truly would be heaven on Earth! God Bless You!

So beautiful your philosophy. The first time i saw a Bonsai i was so fascinated....LONG time ago. I thought it was from another planet. I have loved them ever since. Im sure you encouraged many people who would normally be afraid/hesitant to try this art. Having to draw and plan is not as creative as looking at a tree and creating as you see what it is or what it can do. That to me is more professional and makes you a true artist. As you say, it is a passion and it shows. May God Bless you for creating such beautiful "Bosais"...or is it "Bonsai" and sharing, although i believe he already has. Using what is available also is a wonderful thought. Not everyone can afford to follow certain directions/rules, although maybe sometimes necessary. I enjoyed your thoughts , video and instruction and think how pleasant it would be to visit your nursery being surrounded with all those possibilities and your spirit and energy. Thank You!

As a bonsai enthusiast some twenty years ago who got away from it due to life, and just now having a revived interest, I know a lot of beginners inspired by watching this are not going to happen to have a cascade pot laying around. Years ago, I was in that same situation, so there were times that I would put the styled tree back in the original plastic nursery pot for the time being, a lot of times waiting until the next year to actually put it into a fitting bonsai pot. I know you did not mention this respectively, and with this video, you wanted to show the potting process also to make the video complete. Time is definitely an element of bonsai. Thank you for this excellent video. I wish I would have had RUclips twenty years ago for videos like this.

I would love for you to share more about the finer points of tree care, cultivation, propogating juniper and Japanese maples, and grafting in as much detail as you can spare :) I also wanted to mention that your audio is very low on your videos, and even with the volume at its peak, the sound is difficult to hear. Very informative, and I thought myself years ago when taking a juniper out of a garden with a truck that had become overgrown it was a very formidable plant, as the transmission on the 3/4 ton truck gave way along with three sets of chains prior to the tree itself becoming uprooted.
Becoming interested in Bonsai my first though was, use a juniper, not even a truck can kill one of those.
