- There are good and bad news in trucking this week:
Good news: volumes are higher than in 2023, so there is no demand problem, and diesel prices are on their way down.
Bad news: rejections are still low, and rates are still crappy.

Not just anyone would take all this time to gather all this data, record and edit videos, read all the comments and even fight off scammers, especially when dealing with woes of their own. Miranda really is a jewel.

We work for a mega carrier but its not a public company. Based on the slow down in M&A and what I can see, we will withstand this storm just fine. They have stopped buying new equipment, cut bad contracts, trimmed out the lower producing drivers, sold property and equipment and focused in on their core businesses. Makes me proud. Thanks for all the valuable insight into the current market!

Dry van volume in Chicagoland seems really low last few weeks just seems like it’s going downhill even further.

Thanks to your channel I was able to exit the market in a decent amount of time, I’m currently doing oilfield work with my truck which I was doing before I got my own authority oilfield work is steady but nothing is certain. I’m in the hazmat/ liquified gases part of trucking and it has definitely slowed way down for us. Although I’m still working long hours the work we are doing is not critical like it would normally be. This summer will be the real test to see how bad things really are.

I was complaining to the company I lease with about them continuing to hire new drivers when they don't have enough miles for the ones they have and they told me they were on a hiring freeze so I called a recruiter and pretended to be a driver looking for work and the recruiter said there was no hiring freeze so I called them out on it and they tried to back track and said what they meant was they are only hiring experienced drivers no rookies then on Tuesday I was at our dallas terminal and there was 8 ppl in the orientation class and almost all were rookies right out of school, the lies are thick with these ppl.
My guy, look up the word "attrition".... Basically, you calling them out means nothing. They still have to plan on losing drivers in this market, so they need to always have warm bodies to fill the seats at the "experienced" ones quit... If that annoys you, then open your own company and do it your way

@@markjett899 when you listen to "average" numbers, you end up earning average rates. I do reefer spot market, and my *ALL MILES* right now is $3.60 (loaded + empty) ... DAT avg reefer is $2.14 loaded. Know your market and command your price, or lease on and get shystered

Thanks as always Miranda. Running DV's out of the West Coast and refuse to go any further East than Illionois. Just not worth it at all. Tolls everywhere, rates are no better than the West and the weather is unpredictable.

Reason for flatbed picking up and the southern fluctuation is produce season. Onions potatoes oranges etc get delivered and n flatbeds . I’ve seen a lot of them on the road .

Good evening, I stay out 2 months . I just bought a brand new T680. I Really like we are at the bottom. When will it start to turn its hard to tell. But your data helps. Keep up the great work. This business is always been boom or bust. If you don't watch everything you will be under within a month.
Volume at 2023 and rates are at 2019…..never mind inflation.
And all those little vans and little box trucks or pickup trucks carrying cars etc….all those are required to have MC numbers but they have nothing in common with regular carriers that pulls freight as a CDL A carrier for example…but they are into those public data….and they probably count as regular carriers

Yeah, I don't by this. I've seen 3 dollars for several loads. And that's just dry van. On top of that, I've seen more owner ops than mega carriers. And a lot of owner ops.
