And don't live in America. Come here work for season when it's not snowing, when rates are relatively better and go back abroad home. One more think I know over 30 Balkan drivers that only have a phone bill. They add and remove truck on insurance at company they are leased on for 10% off rate gross plus minus stealing of 2-3% of top. So in the end if they go back with 30,000$ in 3-4 months abroad in Balkan countries where everything is paid for, go figure...😊

The danger is increasing exponentially. Truckers are short fused and reckless. And it used to always be that one hot rod, that wasn't even fast, but just raucous and disruptive. Today, these Chargers, Challengers, 'Stangs, and every hot Kia and Hyundai flying by at triple digits speed! Even Durango owners are in on it! The motoring world is unhinged, and apathetic traffic enforcement! These road rockets have carte blanche freedom for 100+ blasts. And road conditions are deplorable.
Me too. I'm going home and watch the kittens wrestle and keep their 11 am and 6 pm feeding times. Transport is a hell hole. Zero accountability.

I have been driving for 22 years and I have been hearing the trucking world is ending every single year. Drivers are lucky. People are going to continue to buy crap and for as long as they buy the crap we got crap to haul. Right now is just another market correction. Right now we drivers are the problem . Companies have figured out that if they get foreign drivers they don't have to pay as much and drivers like myself are more costly than the foreigners. I have been with my current employer for the last 13 years.i have maxed out their pay scale. I have been told there is no more so that leaves me with 2 options learn to live with in my means and stay with my employer or continue to have champagne dreams on beer money. As an independent dispatcher I can tell you this past two weeks were really hard. Right now there is no good spots, not even in the midwest. I think that brokers are just taking the loads from the shipper the way it is and not negotiating with them, cause fuel is going up and maintenance is not cheap. Also, there is too many heavy loads and they don't care about the driver safety and fuel cost. Sometimes I prefer getting partial loads for my drivers and we make more money like that. If you stacked your money in the good times, you look at this as a time to do other things you don’t have time to do when the times are good. A prepared owner operator will never fail. How we work
We are disparcher and we do load mangement the people who'll think that i'll give 5$ a mile please dont come as our duty to mange the load and the main thing in me is our negotiation skill as we'll negotiate for better rate so we'll give you better paying loads
We dont have loads in our pockets so please see the market consition also
We'll never say that we'll make 10k$ a week because its not possible we'll be honest with you, everuthing will be infrot of you 😇
What we can do for you in this situation:
We'll charge you very less then market then the forigner dispatch companies who don't even know what ELD is

Not gonna happen. We’ve seen that with Yellow freight, and look what happened. Estes is re opening terminals in their name. SOMEONE will have MORE money and MORE resources to keep things going. When it’s almost nothing but the Megas and next to literally no O/Os out there…THEN and ONLY THEN will trucking as an industry be at rock bottom because only then will it truly be completely run by corporate america. 1000+ truck companies will never go bust. Remember what happened in the 08’ housing crash? All the big companies that were “too big to fail”? They got bailed out. Trucking is just as an important industry if not even more so, and with every Mega Carrier having lobbyists in DC and running the ATA, they will get bailed out just like every large corporation that has a shoe-in with DC does. So you’re right we aren’t there yet, but I doubt it will ever happen the way you’re saying it will. The government won’t let it happen.

And another 100+ down from accidents! The reality.

Strip mall , supermarket, we were one of the few working out there, now it's totally forgotten, and people are now pissed when they see a truck slowing traffic down a little, and decide the best thing is to brake check a semi , usually doesn't end well , but I digress , there's definitely to many trucks and to many drivers that have no clue about rates or basic math

The biggest reason we are in this mess is there are to many trucks competing for to little freight. The shippers should be calling us to book their freight. Not us calling them. Swift has 18 thousand power units. How many can they have before they violate anti trust regs? Some of the MEGA COMPANIES need to down size.

The industry always has and always will be made up of small businesses. To bring up anti trust is laughable as this is one of the most diversified industries (imo) in the country. Look at Tech… now that’s monopoly

I'm a trucker for crete carrier. I love following and investing in the stock market... alot of big retail stores are seeing worried declines in future customer spending with inflation. This is leading into less inventory for stores or warehouses, which causes lower freight demand. I don't want this to happen but I think a economic recession is starting to lean that direction. Especially with inflation not decreasing as government hoped but actually going up again. Its going to a bumpy 12 months. 😅

@@amels4620 This isn't necessary. Americans throw away approximately 50% of the food we produce. I've gone to the food pantry and received an estimated $300 worth of food. The only issue is eating it all fast enough before the perish dates.
The biggest thing we're sadly ignorant to is hazard pay. Even with solid rates, we're not being compensated for the hidden hazards of the profession. We truly don't realize how close to death we are each load. Proof positive; If it's raining heavily, trucks can certainly still hold the road. Yet they still travel 70-75 in a 70 zone in a fricken rainstorm! The example repeats for all inclement weather. Safe and assured distances?? Out the window. Laugh? No. That's death. As "drivers" professionals move further up on the deadliest occupation list, our pay is lowering. Sure, eat grass. More importantly, pay me accordingly to how close I am to leaving this world increasingly each driven load.
