As long as 1,000 foreigners a month can come and drive trucks this will never end
FACTS 👍
Nail on the head and glad you're not afraid to address this.
Mutha' Trucker hates me for constantly posting this fact on his platform.
Of course he is a foreigner as well.
We are in America, you are entitled to your opinion, but facts say otherwise
Thank you Miranda, best wishes, keep on fighting, and God bless you
@@Axel-mg6mb So, how exactly do the facts say otherwise according to you?
The mega carriers are definitely struggling. We smaller carriers are the foundation of trucking. Get yourselves into a niche. Offer excellent service. Be on time. Maintain your equipment to high standards. You'll be just fine 💯🤙
And don't live in America. Come here work for season when it's not snowing, when rates are relatively better and go back abroad home. One more think I know over 30 Balkan drivers that only have a phone bill. They add and remove truck on insurance at company they are leased on for 10% off rate gross plus minus stealing of 2-3% of top. So in the end if they go back with 30,000$ in 3-4 months abroad in Balkan countries where everything is paid for, go figure...😊
with unlimited nVidia or Amazon budged you can. Not with tears from brokers on current market.

WGAS?
Bro got a room for rent? I can do $600 a month. I’ll join you 😂
Smart man. Spark a cigar for me and enjoy your HomeTime. I will he doing same soon. Been doing OTR 12 years. I think im waving the white flag 🏳️

The danger is increasing exponentially. Truckers are short fused and reckless. And it used to always be that one hot rod, that wasn't even fast, but just raucous and disruptive. Today, these Chargers, Challengers, 'Stangs, and every hot Kia and Hyundai flying by at triple digits speed! Even Durango owners are in on it! The motoring world is unhinged, and apathetic traffic enforcement! These road rockets have carte blanche freedom for 100+ blasts. And road conditions are deplorable.
Me too. I'm going home and watch the kittens wrestle and keep their 11 am and 6 pm feeding times. Transport is a hell hole. Zero accountability.
I have been driving for 22 years and I have been hearing the trucking world is ending every single year. Drivers are lucky. People are going to continue to buy crap and for as long as they buy the crap we got crap to haul. Right now is just another market correction. Right now we drivers are the problem . Companies have figured out that if they get foreign drivers they don't have to pay as much and drivers like myself are more costly than the foreigners. I have been with my current employer for the last 13 years.i have maxed out their pay scale. I have been told there is no more so that leaves me with 2 options learn to live with in my means and stay with my employer or continue to have champagne dreams on beer money. The job is like any other job you have to take the good with the bad. If all else fails remember nobody lives for ever. This too will pass
We trading our precious time we have on this planet for a bunch of money we never have time to enjoy
As a foreigner , we don’t work for 30c a mile like yall in Swift and other companies. Maybe some Indians do but Americans with no experience don’t make any good money first few years.
Yall bring up foreigners but forget about A.I 😂
Thanks, I've worried for you! I'm done with the carrier I am leased to, my trk is worn out, mee, also. I cannot keep up with repairs. Good luck to all! (I'll keep following you!)❤❤❤❤❤
Don’t feel bad. I have been in this profession 34 yrs, nearly 20 yrs as an O/O . I parked my truck last Sept and returned to a previous carrier I worked for . Sold my truck in November with all the money going to the IRS. I’m 62 and am just putting all I can legally into my Roth 401k so I can exit this deteriorating profession completely in a few years. I miss my ARI Sleeper but the truck and its emissions system did me in . I put a million miles on it and wasn’t going to buy another one at my age and in this economy. Good luck to you.
Same thing did me in!
According to my humble opinion we are still on the way down. But we keep on going.
Agreed. Look at what I wrote to her if you wanta get a sense of where we're going.
@@MS-oz2wu hey. That’s not too complicated to understand. The bottom point is located a few miles further down the road from the position where the profit exists no longer. Most of the carriers go bankrupt and only those allowed to be subsidised by the government continue to operate if the latter is still around.
@@yampol4138 gov subsidied is key to understanding what might happen. Unfortunately we can't really understand what will happen. This is what cripples our ability to try and set up for the future. Instead Feds printed $7 Trillion giving it to Corporations for doing nothing. Who could have guessed this massive decit could ever happen. And the decit continues to today. As an independent dispatcher I can tell you this past two weeks were really hard. Right now there is no good spots, not even in the midwest. I think that brokers are just taking the loads from the shipper the way it is and not negotiating with them, cause fuel is going up and maintenance is not cheap. Also, there is too many heavy loads and they don't care about the driver safety and fuel cost. Sometimes I prefer getting partial loads for my drivers and we make more money like that. Thank you for all your information, it is very valuable. 👏🏻
What do you mean you make more money? Do you guys make money right now???

It’s been in its way down for years and we keep thinking it’s going to get better which keeps us hanging on. Revenue isn’t keeping up with overhead
The industry has been flooded with millions of gopniks punjabis and every monkey's uncle from capetown to Bombay. What do you expect?
30 months and counting
Mega carriers work on profit over a much longer range of time. Deep pockets afford you that flexibility. Use examples from them that directly relate to your operation. If you stacked your money in the good times, you look at this as a time to do other things you don’t have time to do when the times are good. A prepared owner operator will never fail. Because he will dictate his own exit strategy…

We just need 40,000 carriers to get out of the industry before things get better . Should take about 2-3 years at this pace . My advice is buckle up and enjoy the ride .
Or better, Buckle up and Duck out of the way because YIKES 😳, it’s like that scene 🎬 in the movie The Towering Inferno; when they blew up the Water Tanks. Miranda is right; get rid of your excess baggage…QUICKLY.

It's been 24 months freight still going down. It's the worst I've seen. Praying for the market to change
The market could change almost overnight, the problem is the criminal usurper Biden regime and their deliberate assault on the energy sector. Cheap energy means thriving economy. We have hundreds of years of oil in the ground, they are keeping it from us.

How we work
We are disparcher and we do load mangement the people who'll think that i'll give 5$ a mile please dont come as our duty to mange the load and the main thing in me is our negotiation skill as we'll negotiate for better rate so we'll give you better paying loads
We dont have loads in our pockets so please see the market consition also

What we can do for you in this situation:
We'll charge you very less then market then the forigner dispatch companies who don't even know what ELD is

Your local library has a reference source (Value Line) which you can in many cases access remotely with a library card. It deal's with the financial information of transportation companies and may give you guidance.
We in the trucking industry need to be realistic about the economic environment. The Federal government is doesn't appreciate the trucking industry! Specifically, the small business owners in the industry. One of the biggest reasons is that we have NO representation in Congress, which makes the laws. A lot of us don't vote, but we do the most complaining. I got 39 years in, a few more months and I'm done! Good luck.
Good job Miranda. Glad you are in a little better spirits. Cutting costs and closely watching where you haul loads to and from is about all you can do right now. If we have a change in Washington after the next election things will improve. If not it’s more of a downward slide with the only real improvement coming from more carriers leaving the market. As that Kenny Rogers song 🎵 goes “Ya gotta know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em, know when to walk away and know when to run.🎶 (and I don’t even like country music 😂.)
Every week I see a new foreign carrier with new equipment. It won’t stop until wages start getting seriously cut to compete with these up and coming foreign carriers, or… CFR’s start getting legitimately enforced. Legal licenses by English speaking and writing people.
They're using foreigners lower their costs. Foreigners get paid half as much. We can't tell what Foreiners & their Companies are doing. Who's funding them, China, India, and can they take the pain? Are they importing foreigners from their own countries to drive and colonnize our nation? I say yes!!!!!
Lol, I picked up a small hotshot load, and made new friends. The two gentlemen surrounding me as we made small talk. Strangely, they kept smiling..then announced, "It's so good to work with an English speaking driver for a change!"
I laughed, and asked them, "Well what language are you used to hearing? " (Stupid question) "WE DON'T KNOW!!" they laughed.

Things are going to continue to get worse. It just takes longer for the bigger companies to feel the effect. Don't be surprised if you see a few big carries to go under. We still have a ways to go before hitting bottom.
Ive been reading the same articles you mentioned. I sit back and think of the resources these mega carriers have and how they still came up short by millions if not more. At the end of the day we all have to make profit to feed or families. I heard someone say here on RUclips that they feel things won’t get better until Q1 of 2025. My company does spot market work for backhaul loads in areas of the country that are far out west or far up north in the midwest. Other than that the rates have been negotiated much lower than the past two years. Contract freight is pinching every penny and fuel is pinching even more. 😕
I sat for a whole weekend 2 weeks ago in Ohio because of no freight available after coming off of home time with 70 hours available , and I work OTR refrigerated for a medium size company who only does contract rates … worst check I have had in years , the next week I did 3700 miles , it’s definitely hit or miss for all carriers big and small …
Same exact scenario here. Just got into trucking, going on 3 years. It was good at first but this is becoming a waste of time very quickly.
Thanks
Your amazing thanks so much
When 1000+ carriers start going bust, then it's the bottom. Not there yet.
Thanks for the info! ))
Not gonna happen. We’ve seen that with Yellow freight, and look what happened. Estes is re opening terminals in their name. SOMEONE will have MORE money and MORE resources to keep things going. When it’s almost nothing but the Megas and next to literally no O/Os out there…THEN and ONLY THEN will trucking as an industry be at rock bottom because only then will it truly be completely run by corporate america. 1000+ truck companies will never go bust. Remember what happened in the 08’ housing crash? All the big companies that were “too big to fail”? They got bailed out. Trucking is just as an important industry if not even more so, and with every Mega Carrier having lobbyists in DC and running the ATA, they will get bailed out just like every large corporation that has a shoe-in with DC does. So you’re right we aren’t there yet, but I doubt it will ever happen the way you’re saying it will. The government won’t let it happen.
Hmmm, of those 1000 power units, 300+ plus are unoccupied; 250+ more are experiencing driver turnover everyweek; 100+ down for maintenance,
100+ Breakdowns
And another 100+ down from accidents! The reality.
My brother and I have started a non cdl trucking company and we have stopped moving ahead because of your information. Cant thank you enough for your help. GOD BLESS
What a difference a few years make I remember being cheered as I drove my truck passed some residential homes kids playing in the front of there homes as i was heading towards the nearest
Strip mall , supermarket, we were one of the few working out there, now it's totally forgotten, and people are now pissed when they see a truck slowing traffic down a little, and decide the best thing is to brake check a semi , usually doesn't end well , but I digress , there's definitely to many trucks and to many drivers that have no clue about rates or basic math

I see signs of improvement right around the corner. Big up tick coming.
What makes you see this? Just curious
He’s trolling lol
What makes me see it is we losing capacity by the day now in large numbers. More big outfits going under.
The biggest reason we are in this mess is there are to many trucks competing for to little freight. The shippers should be calling us to book their freight. Not us calling them. Swift has 18 thousand power units. How many can they have before they violate anti trust regs? Some of the MEGA COMPANIES need to down size.
😂 do yk what percentage of the market is made up of mega carriers? Last I checked all the top ones combined were less than 8% of the entire truck supply. The industry always has and always will be made up of small businesses. To bring up anti trust is laughable as this is one of the most diversified industries (imo) in the country. Look at Tech… now that’s monopoly
Great your sound good and clearly
We haven't seen the worst we will all be pushed out so the corporations take it all
I'm a trucker for crete carrier. I love following and investing in the stock market... alot of big retail stores are seeing worried declines in future customer spending with inflation. This is leading into less inventory for stores or warehouses, which causes lower freight demand. I don't want this to happen but I think a economic recession is starting to lean that direction. Especially with inflation not decreasing as government hoped but actually going up again. Its going to a bumpy 12 months. 😅
Many big box stores already folded recently, Amazon monopoly taking their customers, not saying the previous big box stores were the greatest to their employees but I know for a fact Amazon treats their employees like slaves and will only USE outside operators until their electric self driving trucks eliminate them. Amazon is not our friend
Read article about trucking co, he only bid "recurring loads" or "dedicated"[meaning come back empty if nothing handy]
Hopefully it gets much worse tbh. We need at least half of the current carriers(both large and small) to go out of business. Let’s see how low we can go, race to the bottom baby
I think 🤔 it's our fault, Trucker's.. Broker's and Shipper's are short charging the driver's and overcharging the people buying.. The fix to the problem.. Shut down for a week and watch the government fix it.. Get the Broker's out the way. And make everything transparent again..

My company lost a lot of contracts. They refused to bend a knee to cheap rates. But they realized they had no choice or they were gonna go out of business. Now we're starting to get contracts back at twenty-five percent cut. This reminds me of the hard times back in 2008 thru 2016.
Hi young lady, what I see down the road the market won't get better or worse until after the election. Most people don't realize we are in a depression last few years. Keep up the good work, and the trucker community keep your chin up
Good morning Miranda it is extremely important to find a direct shipper therefore eliminating dispatchers 5% brokers 20 to 40% factoring 3% you can do much higher DPM and much higher gross directly with shipper you just need to find the ones that work for you, I talk from experience.
That's even harder these days when the shipper is on cahoots with the Broker and DAT LOAD Board (oh yeah): The shipper now knows that it can commit to the broker and dat, gain unimaginable information on truck movements nationwide and keep those extra funds in their pockets.
One more thought. If it pays .43 / mile to run on the weekends why not take the weekend off?
LP driver here. My planner tells me 3rd and 4th quarter is projected to improve. Right now, LTL loads may help boost cpm. Fill that trailer.
It's out there you just have to know the lanes. Truck made 8 grand last week. Mainly off spot. About 2.75 mile avg.
😂
Well best to keep flats south of I 70 specially on the weekend. Overall it’s bad.
I am doing exactly what you said in the end, cutting down on expenses, staying lean as seems like that is the ONLY way to survive. Here in the UK - trucking at the moment is bad bad bad, so bad like everyone is selling left right and centre, 2nd hand truck rates have crashed, freight rates are rubbish, but having minimum expenses and no loans is a BIG BIG BIG advantage for now!!
I love this show
Miranda is just Lovely.
One big thing to cut down from the money we are making is FOOD….because it’s nothing else to cut…so I’m thinking to start eating free grass…as long nobody will figure to start charging on that too.
Make sure it is not grown from Mall and Shopping Center Mexican "Reclaimed Water". Saw this sign at a mall just yesterday.
@@amels4620
Probably they charging money for that…I’m talking about cow grass for example 😂😂😂😂
@@amels4620 This isn't necessary. Americans throw away approximately 50% of the food we produce. I've gone to the food pantry and received an estimated $300 worth of food. The only issue is eating it all fast enough before the perish dates.
The biggest thing we're sadly ignorant to is hazard pay. Even with solid rates, we're not being compensated for the hidden hazards of the profession. We truly don't realize how close to death we are each load. Proof positive; If it's raining heavily, trucks can certainly still hold the road. Yet they still travel 70-75 in a 70 zone in a fricken rainstorm! The example repeats for all inclement weather. Safe and assured distances?? Out the window. Laugh? No. That's death. As "drivers" professionals move further up on the deadliest occupation list, our pay is lowering. Sure, eat grass. More importantly, pay me accordingly to how close I am to leaving this world increasingly each driven load.
God Bless all of us. But, 2024 is going to be really tough for Truck industries. And i don’t see it slowing down.
It’s time just to hold what you have with maintenance cost and fuel going up. It’s just time to sit in this watch your pennies.😎💯
Great stuff, adapt and overcome. Arguably, the human species greatest attribute.
Thanks for your insight.
We're all in the same bucket of puckey here....also cutting any costs possible and saying no to the cheap freight. Always supply and demand in our industry and right now, it is too many trucks and too many brokers supplied to the shippers...
@10:36: SuperService refused to pay tolls but they had ezpass on the windshield and if it got charged going thru a tollbooth, SS would deducted it from the driver's pay - and they kept us in NJ a lot! When J & R Schugel bought Superservice they kept that policy
Excellent advice, Miranda .
In my case , I’m driving just enough to make money to pay my bills , which is not much . So I drive about 2k -3.5 k. Miles per month. With those miles it is enough for me . We can’t continue this path of cutting throats each other .
I believe greedy, selfish , self centered individuals are destroying trucker’s community .
It looks like they double up on the weights and low rate.....
I’m in a cargo van business oh man it’s been trash
Pick up a couple partials and have a full load
Work for JBI as a local in PA. All us drivers have all noted the downturn. Mgmt has admitted they are having trouble forecasting volume
If capacity is the issue then, many people who became O/O's around covid will probably fall off. Company is the best bet for now. I see videos all the time of OO's and lease purchasers parking their trucks and going to work for a mega.
I switch my operations to local texas only aint no money cross them state lines anymore.
Miranda, you’re a good example of what an honest report looks like. *Everyone is struggling right now* , so if someone is magically doing better then everyone else, I’d be suspicious of that person. Just saying. 🙃
there are multiple hints to cut expences and get more profit that u can use to stay on the boat, but i believe u dont like using them. I fyou will not use, then others will use just keep in mind 👍
So just want to cut your expenses and hauling cheap freight, so what’s gonna happen when your truck breakdown, the part and labor are so expensive, how can you overcome that if the rate are too cheap ?
My rate for mild cost went up because of my insurance, but the rates are even worse. I have only one truck and I’m struggling so much. I might just shut down. I wish every trucker good future I hope this year will be the end of all crap.
