Thank you man!! Stop this train is tuff! But I noticed that learning stop this train before trying neon helped a lot because of that slapping technique Mayer uses is in both songs
some of the fundamentals like rhythm are a bit behind and definitely needs some attention, but overall great progression and you've done well so practice so consistently for a year! great work!
Very very impressive progress!! I love your music taste btw, it’s super super similar to mine😎 John Mayer and Jack Johnson are so amazing Also you should totally check out Stevie Ray Vaughan if you haven’t yet. I bet you’d love his stuff
Thank you so much! I honestly would just learn songs I loved for the first 6 months or so, but I started getting bored of that and learned my scales and constantly practiced soloing and then things picked up again and that’s where I saw a lot of progression
Wow! Awesome, I’m also self teaching myself guitar but I haven’t really had the time to focus on it as much as other instruments. Do you have any you tube videos you’d recommend watching? Especially for soloing techniques?
That’s awsome! A lot of the videos I found were just to confusing at the time and I found that just shuffling my Apple Music, find what key the song was in, and just jamming to it helped the best, and I also found a lot of progress in just learning other peoples licks and riffs in my favorite songs and trying to incorporate them into my solos
Thank you! I haven’t really tried something that pushed me as hard as neon did since then so that’s probably got to be it, but if you have any suggestions of something I should learn I’d love to know!
For solos I would just shuffle my Apple Music and find the key it was in and just jam over it, I found backing tracks to boring the way they would just repeat for 10 minutes, but I do use them now more, and I use a tech 21 amp
Impressive! Now let's see Paul Allen's 1 year guitar progress P.S. Okay jokes aside how the hell did you do that. Can you please explain how you learned? I sort of simply learn fingerstyle classic songs like Für Elise and Turlish March and they sound nice but I feel like you were at that level at month 1
Dude that’s awsome! And learning little wing at only 5 months is freaking insane man! And the song is Out Getting Ribs by King Krule, it’s one of my favorites to play!
Thank you that means a lot! Probably about 1-2 hours or so it really depends on the day but some days when I have nothing going on it could be up to 4 hours, but good luck it will be so worth it!
@@bouromain4115 Dont worry Dont compare Dont expect too fast Be kind to yourself This is the mantra of tomo fujita and one that should honestly answer every question of how fast you can do something. The progress in this video is faster then the average self tought guitarist. Much faster. Try not focus on the end goal. Focus on small victories , have fun and enjoy the ride. Who knows , maybe you do it even faster. Just try not to feel bad if it takes you longer though. Putting too much stock in how long it should take could lead to you feeling bad about your progress.
@Finnzobell extremely good progress if this is your first real experiance with an instrument. I have a feeling most people wouldnt ...or rather wont achive as much in the time frame. Good luck! I only hope people dont get too disscouraged if they dont achive quite as much in their first or even first 3 years.
@Finnzobell no wonder you're better than my first year, not better than me tho as i've been playing for 2 years lmao. I was struggling with barre cords in my first year and sometimes making me didn't want to touch my fn guitar for weeks because of that 😂. Keep it up dude 🔥
Thank you so much! I have an insta account but I rarely ever use it, the account name is im_gonna_break_my_monitor Just dm me or something any questions you have, I’ll be happy to answer!
You progress very fast, keep it up, I congratulate you. Greetings from Mexico, and never stop playing, here you have my full support ;D
Thanks man! 😃
Thought i was good for a little under a year but you crushed it- neon that early is crazy I’m just onto stop this train😭
Thank you man!! Stop this train is tuff! But I noticed that learning stop this train before trying neon helped a lot because of that slapping technique Mayer uses is in both songs
HOLY MOLY I've been playing for 8 years and I'm really really jealous of that progress. first 4 years of my guitar in 1 year whattt

WOW!! Neon and Little Wing in the first year is quite impressive, keep it up!
Great Stuff! You progressed super fast!!
Awesome playing! I am just starting guitar and this is really inspiring! Also, that room your in is sick.
Dude that’s awsome! Just stick with it, it will have its ups and downs but it will be so worth it! And thank you haha I do love my room😂
Holy crap. I’ve been playing for almost 5 years and my Neon only sounds that clean by pure luck. You sound awesome!
Thank you so much! I really do appreciate it
Out getting Ribs such a good guitar song and one of my favorite riffs to play. Been playing for a bit over a year and a half.
Right!! And the tuning it’s in is beautiful

Great video, What was your learning method during this year?
, you Improved so well
Thank you so much! I honestly would just learn songs I loved for the first 6 months or so, but I started getting bored of that and learned my scales and constantly practiced soloing and then things picked up again and that’s where I saw a lot of progression
That’s awesome man

I started playing around 2 years ago. This is pretty great progress! What's the hardest thing you can play?
Thank you! I haven’t really tried something that pushed me as hard as neon did since then so that’s probably got to be it, but if you have any suggestions of something I should learn I’d love to know!
@@Finnzobell I finally got Never Going Back Again by Fleetwood Mac down. That one is super challenging, but very rewarding once you get it.
Geez man that one looks crazy! I haven’t built up the courage to even start it yet😅
How do you do practice solos? To backingtracks? What kind of an amp?
For solos I would just shuffle my Apple Music and find the key it was in and just jam over it, I found backing tracks to boring the way they would just repeat for 10 minutes, but I do use them now more, and I use a tech 21 amp
Sounds great! What is the electric guitar that you got?
Thank you bro! It’s a vintera 60s custom tele, it’s also got a bigsby and I freaking love it!
Impressive! Now let's see Paul Allen's 1 year guitar progress
P.S. Okay jokes aside how the hell did you do that. Can you please explain how you learned? I sort of simply learn fingerstyle classic songs like Für Elise and Turlish March and they sound nice but I feel like you were at that level at month 1
Haha thank you! I honestly would just learn songs that I liked and I feel like that made it a lot more enjoyable and helped me progress faster
name of song 3 after 2 months?
Setting sunsets for somebody else by Jack Johnson, still one of my favorite acoustic songs to play!
Name of the Looping-app?
Its called Loop ON-Looper & Jam Recorder
yo what’s that song you’re playing at 4:00
also we got like the same music taste lol. I just recently started guitar about 5 months ago and i’ve learned yellow ledbetter and little wing as well
Dude that’s awsome! And learning little wing at only 5 months is freaking insane man! And the song is Out Getting Ribs by King Krule, it’s one of my favorites to play!
woaahh the progress is insanee, also what's the name of that looping app?
Thanks man! Its called Loop ON-Looper & Jam Recorder, and its totally free
Awesome ! I'm starting guitar and you're motivating me! How long do you practice every day?
Thank you that means a lot! Probably about 1-2 hours or so it really depends on the day but some days when I have nothing going on it could be up to 4 hours, but good luck it will be so worth it!

Have you played another instrument before this?
I sorta played piano but never did get very good

It really depends on the day, it’s usually 1-2 hours a day but if I’ve got nothing going on it could end up being 4
