Chris was so unique.....easily recognizable, with a style so fresh and different. You have to be open-minded to play like him...and come up with songs like YES did. They are all amazing musicians!

He was an amazingly unique bass player - very poetic - and had a wonderful knowledge of harmony. Good tone and content on this crossover fusion- style bass solo. He's out front and working a preset format with the drummer to make his melodic and percussive statements. Like the harmonics loop he uses as backing track and doubling of phrases at spots for dramatic effect. Rest in Peace, Chris.

Oggi è morta una leggenda della grande musica......e la grande musica piange uno dei suoi più grandi autori....e anche un pezzo della mia vita via con lei....
R.I.P Chris Squire your legacy is eternal.
RIP dear Chris, and thank you for everything!
will be missed .. seeing Yes countless times was and always will be a highlight of my youth... they were all incredible musicians and Chris was one of The Best ever R.I.P.
RIP..... Played along ...Lots of fun in E..... thinking of the great music you helped make.
RIP Chris Squire, thank you for your music. 4Mar1948-28Jun2015
That's not "bass." That's Pure Genius!!
So many talented bass players out there, yet, they sound like... bass players. This is something else: complex, multi-dimensional, and so Melodic! It's a completely different instrument in his hands...
RIP, sir. What a loss for the rest of us!
Every note. Listening to this multiple times today. This is Sublime. Right down to that exquisite last single note...
R.I.P Chris....great gig in the sky, rock on brother
That man is one of the reasons why I started playing the bass @ 16. I even bought a Rick 4001 when I was 18. But I soon realized that it wasn't the instrument, but the player, that made it sound good. Kudos to you Chris, may you rest in peace sir.
Greatest bass player ever, 4 years gone 😥
My first concert was with the Crab Nebula stage , never miss't one since . Ive never felt this sad about someone I didn't personally know .
very sad to read about Chris' passing away .. and so terribly fast after the news about the leukemia .. have always admired and liked his bass playing as well as his singing .. all my sympathy to his family and friends .. RIP Chris !!!
R.I.P. Chris, you will always be remembered! ALL HAIL THE FISH!!!!!!!!!
I love this album! So far and few between does one see a bassist hit it like a lead guitar! This is awesome!
Just like the snap of Bill Brufords snare drum, Chris Squire's bas tone is unmistakable. Thanks for Gracing Earth Chris Squire. Rest in Peace Brother!
Best bass in rock history!
The Fish lives on in our hearts and the heart of the sunrise.
We lost a true original when Chris passed.....R.I.P.
Thank you very much for composing the best anime ending of all time.
Best, Bass. Solo. Ever. RIP Chris. My favorite musician, ever.
Wow! I never like Rickenbacker Basses. But Chris Squire and Paul McCartney were the only 2 that can make those basses sing. That solo Chris did proves it. That bass along with his awesome pick playing made that bass sing! God I'm gonna missed that sound! Another ICON gone! May Chris RIP.😢
And Geddy Lee
And Nick Beggs
He definitely cracked plaster at 1:54. He is bass god.
That is some tone! Most exciting musical bassist ever!
RIP in Chris - the best bassist I have ever seen.
Today is Chris's birthday. We shall celebrate his love of bass!Cheers to you Mr. Schindeleria Praematurus. No denying the joy you had playing and the influence that you imparted on bassists.
Always loved what his tone did for Yes. The greatest pick player out of all of them. A true signature tone. Remember hear "the fish" first time; that solo blew me away. No one can play the Ric like Chris.
One of those players you recognize when you hear audio alone.
Happy Birthday Chris!
Rest in peace master.
Chris Squire absolute genius...so sad ....God bless the greatest bass player ever....THANKS from " YES ALBUM to RELAYER" and beyond...rest in peace son....very much missed .......yours is no disgrace
If you've ever played a Rickenbacker, you know! Those basses sing like a chorus of angels 😇
Good tone and content on this crossover fusion- style bass solo. He's out front and working a preset format with the drummer to make his melodic and percussive statements. Like the harmonics loop he uses as backing track and doubling of phrases at spots for dramatic effect. Rest in Peace, Chris.
