I’ve never used this machine but I seen it for the first time today in my local quilt shop. I’ve never seen anything so glorious in all my life.

I have had mine for three years now and it is a marvelous machine. I love it!
Help When I stop on my Q20 My needle is still up even when the needle window says down. Do I have to always use the pedal to bring it down? I'm clicking on the window to stop so I can reposition my hands but can't get the needle to stay down.
Dear Jill,
when selecting the needle down position on screen, the needle will stop in this position when you stop your machine. This means you have to release the foot pedal completely, or (when using the KickStart feature) activate the pause with a heel kick.
Explaining it differently: in BSR2 mode the needle will stop in any position if the fabric is not moved, but the machine is still turned on and the foot pedal pressed down (or pause not activated in the Kickstart feature).
In BSR2, try taking your foot completely off the foot pedal if you want the needle to stop in the down position.
I can 't find directions for decreasing top tensions on the Q2 0 quilting machine. And when I finish sewing and pull on the fabric to remove, the thread usually breaks. If it weren't for these problems the machine is perfect !
Dear Letty,
the tension releases on your Q20 by simply lifting the presser foot. Just touch the “foot” icon on the screen and the foot will lift up, the tension disks open and release the thread. No more thread breaks and an (almost) perfect machine …. :-)

Can I use a walking foot on the Q20?
Hi Kate, thanks for asking. No, this is not possible.
Although dependably the best sewing on the market, Bernina still disappoints with the price and not including an auto thread cutter. Also, I should not have to manually thread a single thing for this price.

The decision not to include a thread cutter was due to the lack of space under the stitch plate.
We felt that the two BERNINA Stitch regulators, creating a perfect stitch took priority over a thread
cutter which is not so often used in machine quilting.

Bernina International AG that make perfect sense. I am a machine quilter and do not use an automatic thread cutter. I take a few small stitches then finish off stitch by bringing both threads to top and clip them. I have just ordered my Q20 and can’t wait to start stitching. Thank you for an incredible machine. Built in stitch regulator, ahhhhhhh
@@BerninaInternational I love to know why you made this decision. Actually, since the Q20 is really a longarm I find I would prefer not to use the thread cutter, but instead bring the bobbin thread to the top and either cut it close or cut it long for knotting and burrying the knot. Thank you! Such a marvelous machine. I have had mine for three years.
