You can use canned air in the bobbin area of the Q20/`16 because it is a completely sealed unit, no debris can go into the main machine. My husband trained with Bernina when they were getting close to releasing these machines several years ago. They were instructed that canned air can be used. It's the ONLY machine on the market of any type that this can be done with.

I have domestic machines but I guess the principle is the same. Getting lint out of the nooks and crannies and a drop of oil where needed. Tfs

Help! My 5 month old Bernina Q16 will not turn on past the Home Screen that says “user update” at the top and then “checking updates on stick”. I went to the Bernina website. Unzipped and downloaded the firmware update. Plugged the USB into the machine and got the message “loading bootloader”. The bar did not progress after 3 hours. Nothing. No response at all. Has this ever happened to you. I have only had the machine 5 months, almost daily use. This is my first Bernina and I am so upset and disappointed. Of course this happened on a Sunday! I will call my dealer tomorrow. But I am just sew upset. Any insight?
