I've got an older 90's version of the Arrow and it works great, used it earlier this year to put on tar paper when reshingling the roof.
My uncle bought a brand new carbon DeWalt one which I tried, and I preferred the extra heft of the Arrow.

Yes indeed these Hammer staplers do seem to work better when they have a nice amount of mass the lightweight ones just you have to swing really fast to get the staple to drive how you want it

Thank you for the video. You need to push the clip down in order to pull it out.
I tried to use 3/8 staplers and I could not hammer it all the way. Then, I have to used the hammer to get the job done.

Thanks for the video. I was considering the Fatmax version of the Arrow stapler until I saw this.

You're welcome those over complicated mechanical designs are still made because there's no patent on them anymore. But they really perform poorly and I don't understand why they're still manufactured

I used 2 Rapid R311 and for a $50 stapler made in Sweden it disappointed me. The first began to jam and break Staples internally, the second one had the head break off where it impacts. It was Very heavy compared to others so I'm going to try out the Stanley PHT150C each $20 so I got 2 at once so I don't get stranded with a broken one. I use these to staple synthetic felt on to roofs I use 4-6 Staples per foot of distance sometimes more if the pitch is steep. I have thrown many in the garbage because they just don't last, Walmart use to carry the old Stanley like this one and they lasted a good time. The ones I ordered have a black finish instead of chrome so I think it's a new model.
I may look for a Rapid similar to yours, looks more solid the the R311.

I've had pretty good luck with these but you do need spare anvils those tend to wear out and if you don't change them then they start beating up the staple guide inside the hammer

No parts to lose, and a more ergonomic grip on the Rapid R311 heavy duty hammer tacker. Pricey, but I sense a once-in-a-lifetime purchase that can be handed down to progeny.

Thanks. Just took apart but the driving anvil part won’t come out. Seems jammed. Help. Thanks.

I’d rather have the arrow, if you need to hammer in a staple, the back of the head shape is super practical

The arrow is the best cuz it has the best center of balance for cool flips

Used a squeezer for 30 years in furniture use. Just cleaned up a Bostich hammer style to do exactly throw up wrapping on some construction. I have absolutely no idea how to reload it 🤷‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️

Did you rip a$$ at 13:41? Lol to funny if so, guess you were swing the hammer tacker to hard and ya just kept going, no edit. But we use these alot in the roofing industry and I've always just used a Bostitch PC2K type and it works for the most part. But I'm curious about the new DeWalt Carbon Fiber version and the Milwaukee Hammer tacker version also and how they compare.

    • @CatusMaximus
      @CatusMaximus  6 лет назад

I've heard good things about the DeWalt carbon fiber as far as usability but I don't know about long-term durability. Carbon fibers problem is that it is not durable and once the epoxy starts to crack it can fail suddenly. I have experience with carbon fiber on bicycles doing that.

Air staplers are used most in wood shops or furniture builds not installing house wrap.

They are handy for many of the situations where you would use a normal stapler to tack things up these always work very well because you can put lots of force in and use extra-long Staples and it will drive them all the way in
