I have a couple of these GVP HC+8 SCSI cards as well as the 030 and an 040 G-Force accelerators, the HC+8 cards will use regular 1mb 30pin simms in the Z2 memory space, though I think they can be jumpered to address it with other cards as well, I don't have one to hand to check right now. The accelerators use the proprietry 1/4/16mb 64pin simms that GVP made which again if memory serves me right is addressed outside the 8mb Z2 limit by default.
Had the GVP G-Force 040. It created compatibility issues for me, system wide with the card configuration, motherboard revision, etc. At the dealership, GVP was always sending us rom revisions to try and fix all of their problems (but never did), so they got the boot and I went Phase5 Blizzard 060 in all my A2000s instead.
My refurbed HD8 sidecar - same scsi controller as zorro cards I’m fairly sure- has pc memory , and the specs have to match the old “special” GVP memory.
Great vid “Q”. I feel another Dr Chris/Hold and Modify crossover happening with replacing the RAM sockets 😉

I never mounted a HD on a card (I always thought that was a bad idea) but put them in the 5-1/4 or floppy bay.
I swish they would let out the Lightwave 3D render engine.
I know there’s a guy out there making new ram modules for Classic Macs I bet he could sell you something compatible
The gvp scsi card takes normal 72pin pc ram. Just set the jumpers.
really?
@@HoldandModify just the scsi controller card.
Well, actually, 30 pin ram, and I think with the series ii scsi controllers, it's a max of 16mb or 8mb .

Apple mac memory 1mb ram simm works. (Need to look up which ones)It’s not proprietary ram in this GVP card.
GVP has some funky pin count. That's the concern.
It’s 30pin
you sound like chris edwards
Well we are pals. We eat a lot of the same foods.
