- Can I beat a Pokemon Hardcore Nuzlocke challenge in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon using only Starters?
Nuzlocke rules:
- Fainted Pokemon must be permanently boxed
- Only the first encounter on any given route may be caught (dupes clause)
- All pokemon must be nicknamed
Hardcore Rules:
- Always Set mode
- No items from the bag option in battle (held items are ok)
- No overleveling the next gym leader

I know Ash-Greninja was only accessible through the original Sun and Moon demo, but imagine if they did it for Ultra Sun and Moon. (It actually would’ve been even more helpful for Antler)

My favorite starter has to be Popplio. Sad it didn't get to shine, but that's okay. I've mostly used Popplio in Gen 7 runs, and it's never failed me. Great video, as always! :)

So i think i just figured out why litten's line makes sense. In Japanese wrestling terms, the beginners are referred to as "young lions." No idea how that works in with Torracat but then you obviously have the Pokemon classified as a heel by its dex entry, and a heel is essentially a bad-guy within sports entertainment.
Litten is a child, torracat is after the child first watches wrestling and incineroar is the child as a pro wrestler 😂
Wow, wasting no time with the Popplio hatred… 😅 Listen, Rowlet may be favorite, but I love Litten and Popplio too. I’ve grown to love the Alola starter lines in general 💚❤ 💙 (Dartrix being my least favorite, but not abysmal). I remember the cults that were for and against Popplio when it was revealed (not hyperbole, look it up). Yes, it’s designed like a freaking clown, but it’s really an inoffensive clown with a cute nose built like a seal who balances bubbles on it, and the whole trio references circus acts, so what?

I honestly think the ability to replay these games is so low, you start up a new save file and get dialog spammed and then you remember why you didnt try to replay it

I really like the idea of the video, it allowed some of the less used starters to shine more. Also, lots of the first form starters are really cute.
My personal favorite starter in first form is probably rowlet or chimchar
Gen IV is definitely my favorite!! All the starters are just SO good. Plus, my daughters (22-month-old twins) recognize and LOVE Piplup, so nothing will ever surpass them.
Still would’ve died even if you had protect for combusken since z moves still go through protection moves like g max.
But the damage is reduced enough to survive on the the yellow

I totally agree with how you feel about Litten, although as the years have gone on, I like Incineroar a little more. Litten was my pick when Sun and Moon came out, and I named my starter after my cat Shrimpy. My cat passed in 2019, but the Incineroar named after him lives on in Pokémon Scarlet :)

I also may be a bit biased, but I’m partial to the Unovan starters because they’re just awesome. 2. Kanto 3. Johto 4. Hisui 5. Sinnoh 6. Paldea 7. Kalos 8. Alola 9. Galar and 10. Hoenn. All of them are solid, but I just love Emboar, Serperior and Samurott so much
Meganium is my favourite starter. I know that it's not great in battle, but it was my first starter, and nostalgia is a powerful thing.
My fav starter trios include gen 3, 4, 6, and 7. But if I had to choose I’d honestly pick gen 3 cuz their starters are amazing

I wish people ended the nuzlocke in the postgame games other than HGSS and legends Arceus. Like I would love him to go against red or blue in this game or Wally in ORAS, or any of the league rematches
I would also include Emerald, because most people do battle Steven in the post game.
Personally I would love to see a nuzlocke of Black and White where it finishes with Alder or Cynthia instead of after the battle with Gethes.

Piplup is my favorite starter because I love the Steel type, followed by Chespin because I love knights.
Grass starters are my faves, honestly Rowlet, Turtwig, and Bulbasaur in particular

For qr codes, there are special ones that give 20 points instead of 10 so you could do 2 starters a day instead of 1

I like the kalos trio more. Greninja being water dark gives it acces to cool moves and of course ash greninja. fennekin is cute and delphox being fire psychic is really cool. It also hits really hard. Chesnaught is just bulky and hits hard. And the XY(Z) Pokemon animé gave them a real boost too. They destroy everything there
Feraligatr is my favorite starter I just love alligators. Plus I have a soft spot for water types.

First starter was Squirtle back on Blue version on my gameboy color. But honestly favorite trio is gen 3. First time I ever reset my game 3 times to have all 3 on one team.
Sinnoh is second, though I love Piplup; Kalos is all solid, it the one where all three are ones I want to use.
