As for lung cancer, think about how many of our parents smoked when we were growing up. My mom smoked while pregnant with me, and both my parents smoked my entire childhood in the house and car. It should be illegal to smoke around anyone under 18. This puts people at risk for lung cancer just like childhood sunburns increase risk of skin cancer.
Why would I want to live past 65? All of the old people in my life spend a majority of their time complaining, going to some sort of medical appointment, getting knee and hip surgeries. I have no desire to get old so drink and be merry!
It's also the issue of "health span" that may be more important than "life span". Sure, you could die at 65 but the years 55 to 64 could be very unpleasant: lying in bed, in constant pain, fear of the grim reaper stroking your soul every night with his cold clammy bony fingers.
I don't like drinking alcohol because I always become dehydrated. I've noticed some of my high school friends, who like drinking, now look ten years older than me in their fifties...
Drinking alcohol doesn’t cause cancer. Drinking alcohol doesn’t confuses cells that want to repair. The food and active life we live today causes stress and breakdown, drinking alcohol during recovery is correlation.
Wooow. And news reports for decades + the people who drink kept saying “a glass of wine a day is good for you.” 🙄 And as soon as people say “everything in moderation,” that becomes extremely subjective to the listener.
Do people drink because they’re happy no. I am a disabled veteran potentially changing PTSD. Your life has to be better without the vice to not do it. What are you doing to make their lives better. Nothing.
Look into cannabis instead of alcohol and believe it or not magic mushroom is a great stress reliever. But remember mushroom is a two day drug because you do doo doo the next day
Quitting drinking's easy. I've already done it 17 times.

If anyone launched a product as dangerous as cigarettes on the American market today, the FDA would shut it down. Ban tobacco.
It's sad that this is considered a NEW research finding...
Yeah, it doesn't take a genius.
We all die of something. Enjoy your life, drink moderately, and stop worrying about everything. Stress kills.
The point is to not drink excessively
I haven't had a drink of anything alcoholic since March 2020. Don't even have the desire to drink again.
My Uncles heart doctor told him for years to limit his drinking to 2 drinks per day, so he just kept using bigger glasses. He’s dead now
Oh whoa!
Wait so he would have that amount but in a bigger glass basically?
I quit drinking every day. It’s easy to stop. 🛑

That’s good don’t use any of your Social Security, just give it to us. 😂
Exactly!

I cut back to about 30 beers a week.
A tough sacrifice, but worth it for your health
What isn't linked to Cancer
quit drinking in 2007. best thing i ever did. I'm 59 and nowadays I vape cannabis. 😂
I'm grateful I don't need chemicals to give me peace of mind.

Alcohol plays a factor but I guess it's made the main scapegoat, when the real culprit is Ultra Processed Food.
And alcohol drinking rates have been falling for the last seven decades. Meanwhile, a number of cancers have been increasing in frequency.

I drink vodka and take Xanax every day and I feel great

Yeah I didn’t feel so good when Dr.gounder said that! I mean for smoking 🚬 it’s a carcinogen but we don’t say smoke in moderation!
Yep. My own doctors told me that both parents having cancer was more likely from their DRINKING than their smoking.
who can afford to have 14+ drinks a week
An 18 pack of beer is like 15 bucks dude
A handle of vodka is around 20 bucks and makes 40ish drinks. At that rate, 14 drinks is $7.
i wish i had a drink right now.
And what? You think youre gonna live forever? None of us getting off this rock, cancer rates up 90% next twenty years regardless.
Doesn't this show that cancer is a metabolic disease and not a genetic disease?
Cancer has never been classified as an inherited disease. So, yes, you are correct.
You’re exactly right! I mean you can have family members who have had it but you can offset it by lifestyle!
70 years old and I drink 3 IPAs a night and vape. I will likely not make it to 75 😢
Just remember what you put on the skin seeps into the skin.
Just put on the sunscreen 🤦🏽♂️
