The D200 is such an awesome camera. A close family member bought one new in 2006 and used it regularly for for ten years. It's almost indestructible!

Indeed ! My D750 does not feel as sturdy as this one. you are not afraid to use a D200, cuz you know you won't break it.

I have a D200 and it is easily capable of getting good shots. That said; the composition, the lighting and the creative eye behind the lens are the most important factors, as always. Thanks again, Dan, for your reviews. Love them.

    Love, love, love my D200..
Great with old manual lens ...D200 with my 28-80 mm ....3.5/4.5....even at high ISO ....mimics film photos from the 30's through and up to the 60's ....my friends tend to comment without prompt the vintage quality of the pics I take with it ....higher ISO values actually help create that time like quality ...colors are fantastic...if you'd ask I'd recommend manual lens only ...really enhances the photo taking experience , very SLR like

An excellent landscape camera that almost permanently stayed on ISO 100. The colours I got from this camera I could not get out of my old D750 & Z5! It certainly has that "je ne sais quois"!😀

Agree. I absolutely love the quality of the D200. Quality is great and colors are unique. Even B&W conversions from raw are excellent and the noise is close to film grain. Only downside, is the battery lasts much less than the D300/D700, my other 2 loves...

Hello Dan. Great short video about this wonderful tool. I totally agree with you, the D200 is still a very capable camera, even in 2023, and it's very fun to use. I tried one 1 month ago and I liked it so much that I bought one 2 days ago on ebay. Can't wait to use it. Regarding the noise, well, I think that CCD sensors noise remind me film camera noise, which is not the case for CMOS sensors.

I still have my d200 with its original kit lens 18 to 200 mm. I finally bought a d3200 which has 24 megapixels so I often use that lens on the d 3200. But I still love the color from that CCD on the d200 and everything about how the camera works I just prefer. And to be honest which is always a good idea, I simply love the camera. Also if you just posting your stuff online it doesn't make a difference.

    • @MrAnalogDan12

The D3200 will be better in low light situations. Back in 2014, I wished there was a D200 with a D3200 sensor, since the D500 was not out yet. Those were the days.

The D200 does a much better Job with the Colour, Hue, Contrast, than the later Nikons. Might be the fact it has CCD sensor, rather than the CMOS senor. Too bad it gets noisy above 400.

hi, i want this camera for years because as you say the colors and hdr of this camera looks better for some reason, now that i can get one the pictures taken really stiinkssss, looks as blurry (and it is not the case). After research this body has the strongest antialiasing filter and its unable to get sharp images. The edges of things look bad at zoom 100x100 preview, BUT looks amazing previewing the whole pic and in prints I think... what do you think about this topic? Iam thinking to open the device to remove the filter over the ccd... greetings

Hello. Some D200 had focusing issues. Try to shoot a few images with small apertures like f11 or F16. If these images come out sharp, maybe it's a back/front focus issue on your camera. By the way, have you tried another lens ?

      @Eric Parker well
-AF performace; the D850 can almost see in the dark
-high ISO performance; from ISO 800 the D200 pics have much noise
      - dynamic range
      - color depth
      - overall speed
      - sensor resolution; for landscape and large prints the D850 prevails
