Just fantastic footage, and well narated, right up there with the best videos I have watched. I did the same trip as you although I cheated and used a motorbike! Loved every mile of the journey. Thanks for posting this video.
Alright! Go girl... I did some of this trek from north to south and am hoping to do it again with a friend.. you sure travel lite! Looks like some sturdy and rugged tires.
I rode it this summer with my son. We took 2 weeks and that wasn't long enough to explore properly. Amazing place but take your time to fully appreciate it. Great vid though!🙂🚴🥃🚢
Hannah, lovely countryside. Thanks for the video. Q: You have very little gear even though you are camping. I would be intrigued by your packing list. Joe K.
Bicycles and tents - my idea of heaven! Whatever age you are, you can be 18 again - just strap a tent on to your bike. Can't wait for this coronavirus to go away so we can all get out there again :)
Wondering how much comfort is possible with small amount of kit, I love the idea of doing this with a set up like this, also what tyres, fast moving on the road.?
Can't believe the negativity on some comments! So what if it is a commercial? Has this video not motivated you guys to go and do the same? I didn't even know the place and now I am going to visit it! Thanks Hannah and whoever else was involved in this.
Likewise, I am now going to see if I can track down a GPX file of her ride, not being lazy, just want to keep the motivation going. I love getting GPX files and then looking at them on my computer, and looking at other routes I could combine etc.
Never new you lived in Fort William Hannah , I use to rock climb and ice climb round Ben Nevis, myself and Angie we are doing LEJOG on fat bikes, after we've done that, we are heading to Inverness via train from Kirk then will decide to either get a train from Inverness to Fort William or ride there depending on the time of day, is there a good route to ride from Inverness to Fort William Hannah, trying to stay off the main roads, plus we are doing it unsupported, so we'll have our fat bikes fully kitted out. ... loving the vids and your dog is cool 👍
Incredible video. Though I'm left wondering how did you film it all? Was someone with you or did you film solo? If so how did you survive three days with such small bags on your bike and the need to carry some video gear? Whatever, the end result is amazing.
Excellent, did you have food and water on your bike, what about warm/waterproof clothes? I have to carry so much more than what it looks like you carry. I’d love to see a break down of the brands you use so I can carry less, thanks.
Heb Way can be done on a road bike, obviously avoiding the walkers Heb Way. Touring bike totally fine and the roads are better than the mainland. Bikes on the ferries, no need for booking unless in a large group. Buy the Hopscotch ticket on the day, circa £35 , will get you from Oban to Ullapool.
hi hannah amazing video i have biked the hebridean way twice already but only on road. do you have a GPX track you can share ? what cameras did you use to shoot the film ? its amazing
To those questioning the camera work, you really need to get with the times. There are drones, the most popular being the DJI models, that you can set to follow you and sweep around you, so there is no need for another person to film you. No helicopters were needed for the video shots from out at sea, it is all drone footage. Have a look at the link below to understand how it works. This is an awesome video, I am just hoping that the footage from the trip was edited by a professional editor, otherwise Hannah is in the wrong profession. It is a wonderful shot and edited piece. Some say it is an 'Advert' of which it may be, but if it doesn't give you the desire to get on your bike and follow in Hannah's tracks then I am struggling to understand what more you need to make you want to get out there and di it yourself ruclips.net/video/yZGz6l8mlL4/видео.html
Yeah thats obvious but if you`re really telling people this is done by herself I can't stop laughing. There is plenty of footage in this video which can't be done on your own. This is product placed self-made lookalike ad.
Hi Hannah. Lovely video with stunning scenery. Scotland is on my list of riding destinations. One question, were you out with a cameraman for the entire journey? Just curious about all those awesome shots. Thanks from Madrid!
Shame, this is NOT the Heb Way. As Hannah says, enjoy the journey, the real journey. Heading off to do my third Heb Way in a weeks time, with a bit of the NC 500 thrown in. I don't expect areas of slow motion, out of sequence stretches of road etc.. Nice video though.
Ooter hebrideees, normal weather, 50mph wind, horizontal rain so heavy, u cant see the "beautiful" scenery, then the wind drops and u cant see the scenery for the midges, as they suck the last drops of blood from youre body, then theres the ticks and the hostile natives with bows and arrows, the fall traps filled with sharp sticks...........etc etc.
Really nice video, but why the hurry? You look like your racing around the Hebrides. Doesn’t look like bikepacking. Stop, take in the views and the fresh air.
bollox, this is a commercial....at no point is the bike dirty despite being offroad and on beaches, or the clothes other than pristine, who's filming it and carrying all her gear ? Totally devoid of reality.
Really ? Since when do have you ridden off road in dry conditions, and come away with your bike covered in mud ? At 3mins 8secs there is a shot under her frame, and you can see some mud there, the amount I would expect considering the conditions of the terrain. Also any puddles that are seen, you can clearly see she avoids them. The beach shots, you can clearly see her tyres are covered in sand, again I'm struggling to understand what state you expect her bike to be in, given the riding terrain/conditions. As for filming I suspect it is a DJI drone, which will fit into her frame bag, and it will follow her at heights she tells it to. Modern technology means you can film stuff like this, on your own. Carrying all the gear, did you not see the part for the video where she took her tent out of the handlebar bag and put her stove back into her saddle bag ? I suspect you have never bike-trekked for a short 2-3 day trip ? Never used stuff sacks for clothes ? It is a wonderfully shot piece, showing the incredible terrain the journey gives you.
I totally agree. I'm sick and tired of these bullshit ads. People are writing oohs and aah about how wonderful stuff while theres nothing but script and faking .
I don't think you could have enjoyed the islands going at that speed. Slow down, smell the air, relax., take in the views. You looked like you had a train to catch. Gave no impression of, or insight into, the islands at all. It looked like a video about you, and how fast you could bike ride.
Beautiful landscape but riding along perhaps fragile walking paths is a bit irresponsible. If hundreds of cyclists turned up on gravel bikes to do this same route then it would quickly destroy the local flora. The Hebrides is a beautiful and relatively undamaged and fragile landscape. So mixed feelings on this video which was clearly a commercial. Would have been better to have stuck to actual tracks. There are plenty of other excellent videos that stick to the roads. I can't believe she carried so little for 3 days even if she wore the same clothes the WHOLE time. Stove, food, water and the rest. I suspect she ate from the Specialised RV support vehicle which the camera man and team were using. Bike must have been cleaned and polished for the start of every day. LoL.
Cheers for the inspiration more please 👏👏👏
Great riding and we love Talisk and saw them live. Loved this video - my daughter is bikepacking around europe at the moment. Inspiring.

Great video Hannah fancy doing this myself one day 😊
Brilliantly done! Well shot and edited. Now I have yet another place on the bucket list. Thanks! Subscribed.

Great video
Beautifully shot, please do more!!
Cant wait for spring and the bikepacking season!
I like the music on your video.
Great film. Love the drone footage.
The editing and drone shots were really good.
Hannah, lovely countryside. Thanks for the video. Q: You have very little gear even though you are camping. I would be intrigued by your packing list. Joe K.
I love your cycling story
Lovely filming
Great video and awesome editing. I’m really interested in the tent/ sleep system you used. Bravo!
Seriously this video look so beautiful and PROFESSIONAL! love it! subscribed!
Just brilliant, love the film. Thank you.
Hannah - a long shot, but do you have a gpx file of the combined road / off road route that you did? S
Maybe similar: ridewithgps.com/routes/34203723
Your bicycle has a pretty color.
nice video, please do more like this one..it's inspirational and the landscape is beautiful
What a nice adventure!
Thanks for replying Hannah that is useful information. Just need your courage to do it now.
It must've been fantastic !
My husband asked me to go bikepacking in Scotland. I never wanted to. Now I do - Doh! 🤩
excellent video

Nice little video! Could easily have watched another 10-15 minutes. Props to the cameraman. Especially liked the shot at 2:43 getting out of the tent.

Beautiful place for cycling, but I think the wind and weather is rather fearsome.
Incredible video. Though I'm left wondering how did you film it all? Was someone with you or did you film solo? If so how did you survive three days with such small bags on your bike and the need to carry some video gear? Whatever, the end result is amazing.

Is there any way we can see the behind the scenes of this awesome short adventure film?
That's impressively light compared to a lot of people
What a beautiful place. What is the front bag you used? Looks ideal being able to undo the inner and keep the main bit attached?
I think it´s this one:

Thanks Hannah very inspirational. Could you do the HW on a touring bike and also do you have to book the ferries before you go, Thanks

Great amazing
Hannah, firstly amazing video and beautifully shot/edited 🔥 secondly how bad were the midges?
hi hannah amazing video i have biked the hebridean way twice already but only on road. do you have a GPX track you can share ? what cameras did you use to shoot the film ? its amazing
Great insight into the area. Was this filmed with a Drone? Solo trip?
Would love to know what tyres your running, wondering if i could manage this on my road bike
How did you do the map overlay? Way cool
Great video! Which app did you use to plan/ navigate the route or just some good old maps!?!
Lovely journey thanks for sharing,👍👍 BTW is it Specialized Diverge??
Do you have the gps data of this route?
Hi Hannah, great video! Questions - what program did you use for the animated map overlay?
Almost definitely after effects
Hannah, do you have gpx files to share? (with the combo road-off road)
maybe this? ridewithgps.com/routes/34203723

Hi Hannah.
Lovely video with stunning scenery. Scotland is on my list of riding destinations. One question, were you out with a cameraman for the entire journey? Just curious about all those awesome shots.
Thanks from Madrid!
And you carried a tent, mat, sleeping bag, cooking gear, food, clothing etc. etc. in two little packs?? I suspect a little sorcery or black magic.
More youtube content this year hannah 😄👍

who was operating the cameras???
PROBABLY A DJI DRONE.
Really nice video, but why the hurry? You look like your racing around the Hebrides. Doesn’t look like bikepacking. Stop, take in the views and the fresh air.
I really enjoy your other stuff but I'm pretty sure this is just an advert for Specialized. Nothing wrong with that... just change title.
