See the house that appears on the left of the screen at 09.49, that was on a tv show called homes by the sea. The house is called Oran Na Mara. What a house! They rent it out and I'm sure there is a 2 year waiting list.
Nice video, have cycled the islands a few times. Good return route is to cross from Tarbert to Uig on Skye, cycle to Armadale ferry to Mallaig the via Ardnamurchan peninsula to Mull then Short ferry back to Oban
Thanks for your comment. I will take a look at your return route on my maps. Sounds good. We are wanting to do that trip again and that would make it a bit different.
I think it was 4 days actual cycling on the Island and one day resting in Stornaway before coming back on the ferry. Dont forget you have to factor in getting to Oban and taking a 5 hour ferry. Coming back you need to get back from Ullapool. So you see the trip is quite time consuming but its not all cycling. Theres quite a bit of logistics involved. Its a mind blowing trip and worth all the planning. You could spend more time there and visit the Callanish Stones and the Butt of Lewis which we didnt because of time constraints etc.
Sorry for the late reply. Ive not been getting my notifications for some reason. Yes that beach was amazing. It actually brought tears to my eyes as Ive never seen anything so beautiful or peaceful in my whole life!
Im really sorry! I thought i answered this ages ago but cant see anything in replies. We used a cycle taxi service from Inverness to get back to Oban. They are call Ticket to Ride and their website is www.tickettoridehighlands.co.uk/

Great video, but it's Stornoway not Stornaway.
Jim McIntosh I will correct that now. I hate bad spelling lol
Watch out for the single-track roads: cyclists get shoved off by cars, they just aren't used to bikes.
Did you have a bad experience?
