The fish that you called a brookie and dropped was actually a Atlantic salmon fingerling, and actually extremely rare to catch in a stream like that. There is not many natives like that in which you caught. Very special fish you have caught up in maine, it’s a beautiful place!
I go to Maine every year and almost every salmon fingerling caught in rivers were stocked by the state. They do this to try and get them to naturally come back to those streams and reproduce.
Brooks best lure is a Joe's fly or trout magnet. Mid winter dough balls. They spook super easy you gotta kneel down pretty far back from the hole and cast. If you see the shadow dart off come back later. Dry flys grey rubbing and purple hackle slay. Also a power worm cut in half on a trout magnet hook.
I caught some little cutthroat trout on the same pink trout magnet yesterday in a little creek. It’s silly how fun it still is to catch little tiny fish haha.
Went surf fishing for the first time a couple of weeks ago at broad kill beach in Delaware, used what I learned from my guy here and got a shark and spot
You should come out to Wyoming and fish the bighorns for trout! I’d love you show you some freaking cool spots for Brookies, tiger trout, and native cut throat trout!
We use just a small worm, no weights just a hook, we stand back from the hole and drop it down we nail them they are fun to catch but most don't get too big, I seen some 14 inchers in lakes but most I seen here in Washington are about 8 inches the little buggers are good to eat though. They are pretty as well just love the patterns on them.
Congrats on first brook but you have been lucky to do all the other fishing stuff that you have recorded I would kill to do any of the southern style fishing you have done but brookies for some reason are all over the place in mass so if your ever looking to catch some bigger ones then get ahold of me and I can show you a good place or few to catch multiple species of trout including the brooks and usually run like 16” or bigger and might even get a chance to hook a landlocked salmon which is one that has managed to avoid my hooks for many years now they are pretty rare to catch here but good luck and keep it up thanks for the rainy day entertainment be safe
Camper isn't happy...I know retrievers. Let him off leash with you in an area that you've walked the perimeter with him in(Especially around water [Water dogs, right?]). It helps within weeks. Just need trust and semi-freedom. They're hunting dogs. His squeaky barks while being tied up was excitement. Nice trout though. Good eaters. Orange meat and very sweet.
Is it wrong Everytime I see u catch a fish I wanna eat it loll.being raised Ina desert where there's no rivers or lakes .. I totally envy you .keep up the hard work
@@MATRIXITY7 you should do more research before saying such a thing. It’s an orange/yellow fly agaric. Amanita muscaria. They grow in the northern regions of the United States. Fact check next time. Or don’t and sound silly 🙃
Not trying to be a jerk but please learn how to handle these trout if you are catch and release and want the fish to actually live. Barbless on all hooks and get rid of the treble hooks on the spinners all together, change to a single barbless hook. Stop hauling the fish up to you and dangling the fish in the air on the end of the line.
Dude I really enjoy your vids but you really need to take better care of the fish you release, trout are very sensitive to being drop, handled and hanging from hooks. It’s a shame half of those fish will probably die. Sorry brother I’m not trying to be a downer just trying to keep some alive for the junior FSF one day. Thanks for the vids
Thanks for watching!! Hope you catch a Bertha next time you get out!!
thanks love the vids
@@Diesel_15 who doesn’t
Bro you have to break out the fly rod for those guys you’ll be mad at yourself in the future if you dont
Kan ay have a fishing rod
Where are the camper videos since you've been traveling? It's been 4 months.

That mushroom is called a amanita, it will make you hallucinate
This is what type of creek fishing I like to see micro creek :)
My favorite lure to use in small creeks and streams for trout is a small beetle spin with a small egg hook and a piece of night crawler
I love your every single video! Keep that up!
I’m getting ready to go kayak fishing and you and Larry Melton Jr upload a nee video! Life is beautiful!!
Went surf fishing for the first time a couple of weeks ago at broad kill beach in Delaware, used what I learned from my guy here and got a shark and spot
Should be throwing flys! This time of the year the Brook Trout will be slamming a dry fly!

It’s so much easier to catch them on the fly

That 1st 🍄 was an amanita. That are hallucinogenic. Popularized from Alice in Wonderland
You can tell by the spots on top and the veil beneath the cap. Proceed with caution
It feels so good to catch a buck list fish
I do this type of fishing a lot, there are a lot of neat trout but by far to me brown trout look to best.
Love these videos

@@thatonenathan3991 Its a pacific salmon parr, caught a ton of them on dries in pei

Love these vids
brook trout are so easy to catch
I'm always amazed at how a creek can look like there's nothing in it and after you cast a small mouth with appear out no where and smash it.
This dude catches everything from redfish in the surf to tiny trout out of a creek out in the boonies
That one with the blue circles was a native raimbow
Congratulations 🙌🏽👍🏽🙂
LETS FREAKIN GOOOO MAYN

Sick man. I did this in North Carolina at every roadside stream I could find.

3weight fly rod and a small dry fly would be the way to go
You can get shorter fly rods in a small weight that are great for creeks

Those look like pretty old Brookies with the size of the heads and jaws. They can’t grow very big in those tiny creeks
I just wanted to let anyone who sees this to have a blessed day and to know they are blessed
You should get ahold of Jon B and do some bass fishing. He might be there right now at hes other house ..
