NOTE: the gummy straps become MUCH MORE flexible when wet. When they are dry they are such a hassle to strap but when wet they are a lot more flexible!

Agreed. Whole binding is much easier to put on after dunking in the lake.

Good call out on the unboxing. For info sake, it had the boots, mounting plates and mounting screws. Plus tissue papers. The screws container had opened up though, but luckily all were still in there. I’m planning to ride them this weekend and will do more of an actual review on them then.

Do you ride these on boat as well? Or just cable . Thx bruh!

I ride the Ronix One boots on boat, but do have a friend who rides the Space Mobs. I think they could work with both performance wise. I could see the liner being annoying though on boat as you would have to stash it somewhere when the board is on the racks. Or tighten down the gummy straps so it doesn’t fly out.

Sup, maybe a question for alle the people here. I started wakeboarding this year but with kiteboards (kiter). For the coming season (2023) I´m going to buy a correct board. My choice is the Hyperlight Freepress but I´m not sure what the better binding is. Thinking about the HL System Lowback with the HL Freepress Bindingboots or the Space Mob. What are the pro and cons for thes bindings.
For the board: There are 145, 148 and 151cm. My high is 1m83cm and 90kg. What would be the best choice? My kiteboards I have are 139, 147 and 159 and using the 139 atm for the cable park.
Some advise would be helpful, ty.

I rode 2 different boots with the HL lowback bindings over the course of 4 summers. I think it's a great setup and probably the easiest to get your board off/on. A few drawbacks though. Compared to my Spacemobs, I feel like the HL systems aren't quite as fluid moving with the board. I think this is why some of the HL pros wear normal boots with a walkable liner (thinking Graeme Buress as an example). I have also found that the lowbacks can be an issue if you hook a hard heel edge. The back of the boot tends to fold over the heelcup of the binding. I actually tore the heel seams on a pair of JD Webb boots a few seasons ago from this. Whereas the Space Mobs feel much more like a normal binding without the hard points. Only downsides to the Spacemobs is it takes a little to get used to the gummy straps. They are not quite as easy as the ratchets on the system bindings. Another possible downside is I swear on some bigger landings I can feel the metal mounting hardware on the arch of my foot a little. Never super bad though. All in all I am happy with the Space Mobs and don't have plans to return to the HL systems at this time. If I did want to trying something new it would probably be Graeme's HL boot or maybe the Ronix Kinetic's. No plans to leave the Spacemobs anytime soon though.

Board wise, I think 151cm for you. I am slightly smaller than you and liked the 151 when I had it.

What about the sizing? Normally i am a 45 eu (29cm) in my sneakers, and the sizing says 29cm is a 47 eu. Is that really true?

In US sizing I am 9.5 in vans and most other shoes. I found the 9 was the right size for me. I would say size down if you are between sizes.

What do you think about the fit of the space mob? I went one size up, I am 7 and I bought 8

For me I typically wear a 9.5. Since it only has full sizes, I went down to a 9. I do like my boots snug at first though. 9 felt right now me.

Does it feel heavy when it connect to the board ?

When I'm riding I don't notice them any more or less than my hyperlites did.
