BC2 was easily the best. Battlefield, 3 was an upgrade from BC2 and 4 is just so buggy and ugly (I play on 360 as you can guess) which really makes me want to avoid it completely. Trying to save for an Xbox One, so hopefully if Bad Company 3 is made i'll be able to get it next gen (which I hope will look better than BF4) I'm really not looking to BF5 just because it'll be like 3 and 4 at launch. 3 was like 4 at launch but not as bad, that makes me worry for 5..

I am a huge Battlefield fan but BF4 was fucking terrible at least it is now. I got it release day, the main menu look sweet and the graphics are good but the game play, is broken COMPLETELY! I swear to god they are making this game more like CoD by the day! Battlefield is all about big maps, Battlefield 4 has tiny ass maps compared to Firestorm. I try to fly jets WHICH ARE FUCKING USELESS NOW around the very few maps that actually have them and I end up having to turn around or I accidentally run into some huge ass random object (Rogue Transmission the cables in particular) and blow up. The jets, are a joke now. Stealth jets, REALLY? Honestly, what the FUCK were they thinking?!? First of all they look retarded and the only damn use they have is to shoot down other planes which with the broken miniguns that do almost no damage and heat seekers that take YEARS in reload, you might as well just not even fly them! Sniping, dear GOD don't even get me started! Sniping NEVER gives me a feeling of satisfaction anymore when I get a kill because once I do get a kill some asshole on top of a building takes my head off. And my NUMBER ONE ruined thing in Battlefield 4... Attack choppers. JESUS FUCKING CHRIST! WHAT THE HELL WAS DICE THINKING!?! Attack Choppers were PERFECT in BF3 I wouldn't have changed a thing! But now I just get completely and utterly bent over and brutally buttraped by Stingers within 30 seconds of take-off! Flares take years to reload now, maneuverability is SEVERELY lowered. The people on the ground just have to go "beep beep motherfucker" and bam you are gone. And when you are flying close to the ground, you get hit once you are GONE. If you are flying high, you get hit once and you CAN'T escape the lock. DICE YOU RUINED BATTLEFIELD!
Battlefield is fun but not next-gen. It has the same graphics except for when the destructors destroy and collapse the building I am in... Better than COD at team play, destruction, and transport and did I forget that there is more freedom and bigger maps? But COD is my main shooter while BF4 is my team play shooter.
call of duty is a skill-less run-n-shoot everywhere game, the first person to see the other win. that simple. I love how among all those different people playing, Rev3Games, GameInformer, there's that one guy ChilledChaos (a fantastic let's player) playing in the background. His montage was absolutely amazing! I wish I could be as good as him or have a computer able to play those early servers (old pc).
Get rid of the singleplayer!! Stop wasting my money, just make it multiplayer from now on, if you need to tell a story,- tell it within the missions and objectives in multiplayer, make the battle seem more epic and organic, as we fight real human enemies.
That's a sensible idea. At least they would put more time in making multiplayer better, and perhaps not release the game so damn early, getting a buggy, underwhelming visually game. gameplay is great, that's for sure, but...
What about an epic multiplayer campaign mode, where depending on when you join and how long you play will determine where in the "story" or timeline you currently are. Then, as you continue playing through this massive campaign type experience (that could go on for hours) it rewards you for each successfully completed (won) "segment" And please no loading times in between segments lol Just one continuous experience broken only by the scoreboard popping up between segments to allow load out and load ins/out of new characters to the next area (Which looks exactly the same as the one you left, and the change is so subtle that you don't even notice it, but is actually loading up the next segment for you to continue playing as it goes) That way you could still have small Squad based play, that slowly builds up to having more and more squads in the same play area as it goes. so think of it starting off as an 8 vs 8 and slowly building up up to 16 v 16 then up to 24 vs 24. etc. as high as they can go. And also getting harder and more complex(add more vehicles and harder objectives) as it goes. Until finally culminating in a gigantic epic showdown with maybe even multiple factions vying to have ultimate control, and win "war", And then have it drop weapons or goodies to people based on what section of the campaign they are in, with larger/better/rarer going to those related to the difficulty and section of the campaign they are currently on, with better rewards going to the winning faction. Then, after you finish you get to go back through with these new weapons you've just gotten and do it all over again, trying to fight your way back up through the whole campaign to get another chance at a different cool weapon or item or whatever. Sort of think like the perfect blend of singleplayer and multiplayer. Heck at least it would be a bit of an interesting changeup from the normal run of things with shooters these days. I think that could be really successful. but who knows what else we'll be doing with this next gen. I just hope they use the technology well.

But I wish that someone (looking at you BF) would just do a full Triple A multiplayer ONLY game. I'm tired of them trying to sell me a game based on some random character that I care nothing about - in a storyline that I have no interest in playing. Like make me a really good co-op experience, with like 2 to 8 man squads where I get to play as my own created character, then we'll talk, but till then I don't care about what's his name and whatever his problems are. If I want epic storyline and singleplayer I'll go play MGS (hmm that makes me want co-op mgs now lol) I don't know one person that bought BF4 because of the singleplayer, Yet they continue to make it. Like seriously? 5 maps is not enough for any game, and if you are going to do multiple game types - MAKE MULTIPLE MAPS FOR THEM The maps that MAG did have though were REALLY good, as far as "fairness" and equal opportunities for both sides to attack and defend if needed. It just really needed to be gone over with a fine tooth comb to improve it overall. That game had a lot of just bad design flaws. I.E. Using fixed parachute spawn points was lame, and there were so many things that could have been done to add gear and weapons to that game. But overall MAG was really fun. I'm still interested to see if we will ever get a MAG 2 from Sony, but I'm not holding my breath, but I would definitely buy it.
Shoc Trooper I would like if Battlefield could improve their CQB as it isn't very good in my opinion. I think if the CQB were like Crysis or CoD it would be an improvement.
Exactly. I'm totally a close quarters guy myself.(shotgun 4 life), and BF just doesn't "do it" for me. It's ok, but meh, after while I just get bored. I wish BF just focus on MP and make a bunch of different styled and sized of map, and just give us way more options.
I don't even know why people overrate this game so much. I mean it is so boring. I found myself running more on the map than actually killing people because the maps are so big. People goes on the vehicles and that is the only way to do good. Also time to kill is to fast. FInally the servers sucks so badly. Vehicles and teamwork are 'supposed' to be important; do you think modern soldiers in the Middle East are just marching through the desert, or do you think they take the Humvee instead? Anyway, if you want more instant-action and longer fights, I would agree that Bungie games are for you. If you have a good PC you could also try Planetside 2, which is just as good as (if not better than) modern Battlefield games IMO and is completely free on top of it all.
They're actually going the opposite direction, destruction was actually toned down from Bad Company 2 to BF3, something along the lines of not wanting the map to become flattened every time. BF3 alpha had more destruction than the final product as well (you could make deep craters in terrain with explosives).
I finally pulled the trigger on a BenQ XL2420TE monitor for BF4. I played BF3 on a 46" LCDTV, and could not bear the lag, slow response, etc that hurt my gameplay so much from a non gaming display!
Watching this again makes me feel very depressed. I miss Adam. He came back, but for such a short time... But I hope he is happy in whatever he is pursuing now. I just want him to be happy.
I played BF3's single player a couple times (mostly for the achievements). I think DICE would do best to just concoct a few fairly brief scenarios to serve as a tutorial to multiplayer, flying vehicles especially could certainly use one.
I feel Like Battlefield has a great position to make an awesome single player, where you play missions on these huge maps you play in multiplayer, and maybe you have objectives to complete that exist within it that you can sort of choose when to do them and in what order and they are spread across the map or something, would make it a lot more interesting
The only problem for me is when I try playing battlefield, no one talks, or they're in a separate live chat. But when my friends are on, I love the game.
Wow, for some reason I never paid much attention to Sessler, but he's great! I fully agree with his opinions'. His reviews seem very objective, and are logically and intelligently presented. He's definitely going to be my go to guy for game reviews from now on.
There are also plenty of games that focus on their Single Player campaign and just tack on a generic Multi Player mode and people generally let that slide aswel. So you'd have to do that there aswel.
If your using Euro's it might be cheap for you but for me it's expensive. Newegg has the 780 GTX card for $499 USD but search the internet on Google search engine shopping and you might find a site charging much less.
I love Operation locker on obliteration, how can you say that when the games go on for an hour and you get in a firefight with your whole team against the other team, all while fighting for the bomb. I also am aware of the FPS drops when this happens every once in a while, but its still tons of fun.
He never said he played it on the Xbox One. He said he would have to talk about it at a later date, not that he wasn't allowed. I don't think the Xbox One version is complete yet since it is the last version to release on November 19th.

Why is it that no developer talked about the buggy launch? I watched over 10 reviews and none of them mentioned the slightest bit of all the bugs and netcode issues.

Hey Adam, don't worry. As someone who put almost 700 hours into the bf3 multiplayer, I can tell you right now that you did a great job of articulating what multiplayer feels/plays like. I think both hardcore battlefield vets and people who play multiplayer casually will get a good idea of what it is like.
If they're going to do something like this. They should just pump a shitton of development time into arcade style alternate game modes that could be played Solo or Co-op. Kind of like how some games are developing better and better survival modes, which are getting insanely fun, except they could do it with a bunch of different game types.
The slower pace of the game makes it interesting, I usually spawn in on a vehicle or I travel on foot with a lot of firepower for the tanks that dominate the ground. I usually prefer the slower pace, yes the snipers can get you and be annoying but it leads to a lot of different and unexpected strategies I usually pull out and dominate in tdm with. They also didn't point out the new spotting system they implemented which I enjoyed and my friends enjoyed it because they were hardly getting any kills lol.
This is because Battlefield is actually primarily a multiplayer game. It started out as a multiplayer game, so naturally it's strength is in its multiplayer. And to be honest, unless they are really devoted and make a stellar campaign (even if they did this i doubt many people would notice it considering that it is Battlefield and many people dont play campaign), the campaign will always be considered less significant
We need more destructibility like red faction1. In red fact 1 you could destroy the very ground you stand on which you could dig a hole from 1 section of the map to the other.

The maps that MAG did have though were REALLY good, as far as "fairness" and equal opportunities for both sides to attack and defend if needed.
It just really needed to be gone over with a fine tooth comb to improve it overall.
That game had a lot of just bad design flaws.
I.E. Using fixed parachute spawn points was lame, and there were so many things that could have been done to add gear and weapons to that game.
But overall MAG was really fun.
I'm still interested to see if we will ever get a MAG 2 from Sony, but I'm not holding my breath, but I would definitely buy it.
Shoc Trooper I would like if Battlefield could improve their CQB as it isn't very good in my opinion. I think if the CQB were like Crysis or CoD it would be an improvement.
Exactly. I'm totally a close quarters guy myself.(shotgun 4 life), and BF just doesn't "do it" for me.

I wish BF just focus on MP and make a bunch of different styled and sized of map, and just give us way more options.
There was a mission in Bad Company 2 out in the desert where you get to choose how you complete 3 objectives. Sadly we havent seen that since.
I don't even know why people overrate this game so much. I mean it is so boring. I found myself running more on the map than actually killing people because the maps are so big. People goes on the vehicles and that is the only way to do good. Also time to kill is to fast. FInally the servers sucks so badly. I don't know this wan't the game for me so I guess I'll play Destiny instead.
Vehicles and teamwork are 'supposed' to be important; do you think modern soldiers in the Middle East are just marching through the desert, or do you think they take the Humvee instead?
Anyway, if you want more instant-action and longer fights, I would agree that Bungie games are for you. If you have a good PC you could also try Planetside 2, which is just as good as (if not better than) modern Battlefield games IMO and is completely free on top of it all.

They're actually going the opposite direction, destruction was actually toned down from Bad Company 2 to BF3, something along the lines of not wanting the map to become flattened every time. BF3 alpha had more destruction than the final product as well (you could make deep craters in terrain with explosives).
I finally pulled the trigger on a BenQ XL2420TE monitor for BF4. I played BF3 on a 46" LCDTV, and could not bear the lag, slow response, etc that hurt my gameplay so much from a non gaming display!
Watching this again makes me feel very depressed. I miss Adam. He came back, but for such a short time...
But I hope he is happy in whatever he is pursuing now. I just want him to be happy.
I played BF3's single player a couple times (mostly for the achievements).
I think DICE would do best to just concoct a few fairly brief scenarios to serve as a tutorial to multiplayer, flying vehicles especially could certainly use one.
I feel Like Battlefield has a great position to make an awesome single player, where you play missions on these huge maps you play in multiplayer, and maybe you have objectives to complete that exist within it that you can sort of choose when to do them and in what order and they are spread across the map or something, would make it a lot more interesting

The only problem for me is when I try playing battlefield, no one talks, or they're in a separate live chat. But when my friends are on, I love the game.
Battlefield 1942 is probably still my fondest memory of the BF franchise. I really do hope they'll release a sequel for the PC on the FB3 or 4 engine.

Funny looking at the kill log and seeing all the reviewing outlets, revision3, joystiq, oxm, etc.
There are also plenty of games that focus on their Single Player campaign and just tack on a generic Multi Player mode and people generally let that slide aswel. So you'd have to do that there aswel.
If your using Euro's it might be cheap for you but for me it's expensive. Newegg has the 780 GTX card for $499 USD but search the internet on Google search engine shopping and you might find a site charging much less.

I love Operation locker on obliteration, how can you say that when the games go on for an hour and you get in a firefight with your whole team against the other team, all while fighting for the bomb. I also am aware of the FPS drops when this happens every once in a while, but its still tons of fun.

Sometimes running and swimming is better because it's harder for enemies to spot and hear you. And massive levels do NOT hurt pacing.

Why is it that no developer talked about the buggy launch? I watched over 10 reviews and none of them mentioned the slightest bit of all the bugs and netcode issues.
I feel that is how most future FPS games will be. The ones that focus on MP anyway.

Hey Adam, don't worry. As someone who put almost 700 hours into the bf3 multiplayer, I can tell you right now that you did a great job of articulating what multiplayer feels/plays like. I think both hardcore battlefield vets and people who play multiplayer casually will get a good idea of what it is like.
If they're going to do something like this. They should just pump a shitton of development time into arcade style alternate game modes that could be played Solo or Co-op. Kind of like how some games are developing better and better survival modes, which are getting insanely fun, except they could do it with a bunch of different game types.

My single player keeps reseting on ps4
The slower pace of the game makes it interesting, I usually spawn in on a vehicle or I travel on foot with a lot of firepower for the tanks that dominate the ground. I usually prefer the slower pace, yes the snipers can get you and be annoying but it leads to a lot of different and unexpected strategies I usually pull out and dominate in tdm with. They also didn't point out the new spotting system they implemented which I enjoyed and my friends enjoyed it because they were hardly getting any kills lol.

This is because Battlefield is actually primarily a multiplayer game. It started out as a multiplayer game, so naturally it's strength is in its multiplayer. And to be honest, unless they are really devoted and make a stellar campaign (even if they did this i doubt many people would notice it considering that it is Battlefield and many people dont play campaign), the campaign will always be considered less significant
We need more destructibility like red faction1. In red fact 1 you could destroy the very ground you stand on which you could dig a hole from 1 section of the map to the other.
I'm curious though, what were the specs of the PC you were running and how well did the game run?
