The Triton motors (both sizes) seem to be super reliable and will go a LOT of miles from what I've seen. These things will last! I love mine. It's a 5.4L 2001 with 79k.

My 2001 SuperCrew just turned 350,000. The driveline is all original down to the original water pump. I might have to do a little work before adding a blower... LOL That is a beautiful truck.

I've been contemplating on either a 5.0 or a lightning swap for my 99 f150 4x4 to put more life in her... It's still a beast at 300,000 miles even I have 2 small issues with the electronic side of the 4wd but even with just 2wd at this point it's still pulling people out of being stuck just about anywhere... Everyone hates a 5.4 but my 2 valve with the aluminum intake is and always will be a beast to me for being 330 cubic inch engine
The 2v and 4v version is awesome I love the motor in my 07 gt500 that was one of the main reasons I wanted a shelby along with the tr6060. Torque for days. The 3v version had some issues so everyone puts them all in the same category thinking all 5.4s are the same.
That jellybean is amazing! I have one of the last 10th gen F-150's ever built, a 2004 Heritage model with the 4.2L v6 and 5 speed manual transmission. It was built in Canada with what was left over from the 2003 models and parts and accessories bin. I recently had it repainted the factory red color and replaced all of the broken exterior parts, and it looks great! But the old v6 has over 225,000 miles and is starting to get tired, so I'm tempted to swap in a coyote and a Tremec 6 speed manual if it'll all fit and work together in the truck. Or maybe save the money, just rebuild the 4.2 and keep everything stock. Decisions, decisions.

I’m a big fan of the fender flares on these trucks such as the Harley Davidson edition. I have a 2002 FX4 Supercrew and the fender flares make it look more rugged and sporty. I feel that without them the truck looks more plain almost like a work truck.

@@pittsponies4790 well my truck had the 4.2 v6 but the 5.0 has the same engine mounts as the 5.4 and 4.6. All I did was take the frame mounts off of a junkyard 5.4 truck and put them in mine. I was having clearance issues with my power steering pump so I made some spacers to go in between the frame and the mount to raise the engine up. But I just went to autozone to get the mounts since I could easily return them if they didn't work. (I tried out a lot of mounts)
We have 00 f150 4x4 can and a half long bed. Great shape. I bought a 00 f150 lightning rollover. You can guess. Swapped engines. Now I have a 5.4 supercharged 4x4. Computer reprogram. Fit like a glove. Yes it'll move quickly.
I have an 01 Lariat extcab 4x4 i bought new. It has been sitting in the garage since August 2011. It has the Triton 5.4 that blew the plug. I fixed it and drove it for 230K and never had another problem. But it definitely needs more power. Thinking about the superscharged Coyote.

Just build your motor, save half the money. Not hard to make big power out of the mod motor - when you are talking $35k for the swap. Spend $15k on your mod motor and blow the doors off that thing

Plenty of 2v’s making 850-1000hp using a built 4R100 trans. Cost you $20k for the 2v and another $4k in the trans and $1k for a circle d converter. Whatever other upgrades you want to make, since technically you saved $15k by keeping the 2v and 4R100. Still gotta build the stock trans to handle the big power. Still gotta throw a circle d converter at it. I’d rather have a brick shit house short block all balanced and blueprinted, trick flow heads or alike, with a whipple 3.4, tuned on 93 with meth injection. With the right cam, and enough timing, easily see 850hp 93 pump gas. Have to run corn to hit 1000hp same setup. 850 is fine with me. More than fine.

Coyote is still a mod motor so is fords 6.2 same or similar mounts and trans bolts ECT just way different electronics like almost impossible electronics. Almost....

Everything in a build like this is custom, that being said the external dimensions of the engine are smaller than the ones it’s replacing
