To anyone who gets this get the aluminum steering bell crank!!!! It’s a must your bell crank will break almost right away after that the car will drive so much better
Hey there, the differential pinion and screw are already included... they come with the car as part of the stock direct drive center spur gear. Just remove them from the direct drive spur gear and install the diff pinion gear on the end of the center differential assembly. Use threadlocker on the screw, then make sure it meshes with the rear differential. Just did this myself last week with the 2023 Rally1. Also, the black rubber grommet that comes with the center diff package (and that's not mentioned at all in the assembly instructions) is intended to go inside the output cup before reconnecting the driveshaft between the center and front diffs. The stock direct drive spur assembly also has one inside the output cup. If it's not placed, the driveshaft will have a lot of play between the center and front diff, and it could potentially fly out during use.
I was going to comment with an almost identical comment. As long as he has been involved in our sea, you would have thought he would have figured that one out pretty darn quickly. 😅
@@KiteCrazedFool Power delivery to all wheels is smoother than with the stock direct drive pinion. It's easier to break traction on the rear wheels with the stock setup, but I wanted better handling. Still it's quite easy to powerslide the car on 2S in pavement and dirt with the center diff. I also added the sway bars, front and rear, and the aluminum shocks with Losi 60wt oil all around. The springs that come with the Kaos aluminum shocks are shorter than the shock bodies (don't know if it was a manufacturing error, or if they are supposed to be shorter), so if you don't want to hear rattling while driving, you'll need to adjust the preload rings to take up the slack. Adding preload to all corners is recommended to keep the car from leaning forwards/backwards under acceleration/braking, and to raise the ride height to prevent the front and the sides of the body from scraping under braking. You can do without any of these upgrades, but I do recommend replacing the stock steering assembly with the aluminum assembly. The plastics parts have been known to break under moderate use, and it does eliminate some steering slop. Haven't used the aluminum steering hub carriers, but those stock plastic parts also contribute some slop. Finally, I'm planning to place the hard (red) springs in the back, and leave the medium stock springs (white) in the front.
Very cool car. Love the looks. However, for whomever is reading this if you don't care so much about the licensed body I suggest checking out the Rlaarlo XTS F10. At only $350 ($300 sale price rn) you get a similar aluminum chassis and shock towers with the addition of carbon fiber pieces, aluminum shocks, oil diffs, a center diff, sway bars, a gyro, esc and motor fans, a light system, and it's 50+ mph capable. Includes a 3s battery and charger, a true rtr. Check it out.
How awesome I was just calling you guys today to find out the difference between last year and this year's version. Somehow your phone lines are not working and neither is your chat option but thank goodness I found this video.
In a nutshell, the only two differences are the colors of the body shell and the price dropped $10. Everything else is still the same, including the bumper brace... That was a rolling change and only affected the early production Puma Rally cars.
These cars are great, but they always seem to have some quirky issues. The honesty is massively appreciated 🙏 Not just a "hey go buy the new shiny" review
The livery is so busy that the clips are well camouflaged and barely visible. Clips are fine in this case they are not sticking out like on a plain white drift body...
Looks like you guys could build an awesome rally track in that yellow tapped off area also fix the front toe in if it’s sliding out maybe even check the rear to and if that doesn’t work I’d get and throw in a Gyro for it.
Another great review, and this makes me think twice about my bias toward the HPI WR8. I just wish you had been able to run it with the center diff. Please do an update... soon!
I'm missing the sway bars on this new car, or its upgrades. Even the previous model came with provisions for it. Please, keep us posted if CEN eventually release these!
So the only two changes I can see are that the colors on the body shell are different, and the price dropped $10. Everything else is still the same from last year. The rear bumper brace was a rolling change, and only the early production cars didn't include them. Also I'm really glad to see CEN releasing more aftermarket parts for this car. CEN did a really good job with this car, I've been VERY happy with mine. The only two changes I would've made are a better radio/receiver (I swapped mine out for my DumboRC Tx and X6FG Rx which includes a gyro), and I would have gone with the WP-MAX10-SCT-120A-4S-RTR for the ESC over what it has now (WP-MAX10-SCT-100A-3S--RTR). Size and weight between the two are the same, the 120A-4S can handle more power, and it gives that 4S option for the battery! Plus the existing Hobbywing 3000Kv motor would be able to handle it (Upper limit though).
Just bought the front Kaos hub carriers. But I can't use them with the stock front drive cups/dogbones. You have to buy their front cvd universals. Wish they would note that on there website that you have to upgrade both..
ese auto tenia un problema en la carcasa en la parte trasera que se atascaba con las ruedas traseras cuando el auto andaba en tierra o grava. parece que mejoraron esa parte de la carroceria en este nuevo modelo. saludos buen video
The Traxxas Fiesta is still noticeably bigger than this car. I don't know what Traxxas was thinking, but their model is definitely NOT 1/10 scale! LOL! Just so happens I have some 1/6th scale figures (One of which happens to be Arnold Schwarzenegger), and if the Fiesta actually had a full interior they would fit in it just fine. Even posing them standing next to the car they don't look disproportionately large.
Btw, the only difference between the 2023 and 2024 versions is the main color of the body; the 2023 version is blue, while this version is white. Everything else in terms of chassis, shocks, drivetrain, tires, wheels, servo, esc, motor, gearing, and the solution to keep the back of the body from being eaten by the tires is the same as the 2023 version. It also has the same price.
In 500 years ancient astronauts are gonna dig up your browser history and go: that is one lonely person with no real accomplishments other than writing 5 letters.
The problem is that they are not made with real intention by the manufacturers. It's a quick money grab with the small market of rally car enthusiasts that want these. HPI WR8, Kyosho Mk2 Fazer subaru, Cen Puma Rally, etc. Traxxas attempted to make one, but it was on a shared platform so it didn't really count.
@ The WR8 is my favorite rally car that I keep talking myself out of buying waiting for a sale. I meant shared as in the Traxxas rally being based on another car.
@@chrisginoc Just got a WR8 flux and have ran it a few times. I would say not worth $500 especially at the moment when stuff like the Maxx slash is on sale for $550, CEN Puma is $460, Rlaarlo is $300, etc... it just doesn't make sense why the WR8 is so expensive. Obviously with a rally car the terrain you can use it on is only flat ground. That's it. Another reason the price is higher than I think it should be. Also the body is very fragile and the transmitter is borderline toy grade now. The car itself is epic and the suspension setup is amazing but I honestly wouldn't buy it again. I should have just got the Rlaarlo or CEN even though I hate the body lol. If you aren't a huge subie fan that's just gotta have it, I'd advise against it.
Whats your preference over the Rlaarlo XTS F10 rally car? The new one, think its a V3? Does that one beat this one. I know this is only a 1/8 and the Rlaarol is a 1/10 but still interested in the comparison!. I do like the body work / spoiler more on this one, the paintjob and decals are far better than the Rlaarlo but there must be a copyright or something on that?
To anyone who gets this get the aluminum steering bell crank!!!! It’s a must your bell crank will break almost right away after that the car will drive so much better
Time for an amain rallycross event there are enough rally cars to compare to see who is king
Yess!
Wr8 was and is king...
@@peteroosterhoff8850 until you break a part and have to wait months to get a replacement haha. They are sick tho.

The problem with Rlaarlo is their durability. Once ther rally car has been out for 6-12 months we should know if it’s good or too good to be true.
I just preordered mine!
@@chrisginoc it'll be fine. Its built on the omni terminator platform
The Rlaarlo is a 10th scale and this is a 1/9-1/8. Not exactly apples to apples.
that's actually beautiful, seems to handle well
I would have liked to see a center diff at that price. That spur gear will be feeling the crunch off road.
It looks nice though.

Nice calming video..i would like to know about the center diff issue more though
As I was about to buy the 2023 version, and this one drops today. So glad I waited :)
A car like this deserves a clip less body, it'd be perfect
I have clipless Arrma Mojave Grom's and it's a pain in the a**. Any little dirt that gets in there gets the body stuck.

Also ordered the kaos aluminum motor mount. The hardware they provided isn't even long enough to hold the motor plate to the motor mount
cool review , thanks ( 3s seems (KINDA~) weak for the price and size )
Oh my❤!! Rlaarlo who😂
You be better off going with rlaarlo
More video like this! Plz!
Cen is really checking all the boxes of the rhings I like. So long Xass.
No slipper clutch? No center diff? For an 8th scale?
You didn't watch it entirely, did you?
Best looking rally car by far! But no center diff stock in a rally car? WR8 still has its number IMO
I'm missing the sway bars on this new car, or its upgrades. Even the previous model came with provisions for it.

i hope they sell just the body cause i got the previous model and would love to have this livery too

This doesn't look like the teaser image Cen released.... i thought it was being revealed Thursday?

Does manufacurers not testing their products before releasing them?
CEN should do a full fleet of Licensed Red Bull Cars of each category like F1,Pro4,etc
hello, how did you attach the GPS to the car?
Car seems awesome. I wish they made a 1/10 version
This or the new Carisma m48s?
Totally mist out on "new" version in my opinion. See very, very little improvements...
Should have made centerdiff in it also....
The body looks nice, other than that Hpi wr8 is better
Can you guys do a big blowout review of all of the mini crawlers? From kyosho, traxxas, redcat, fms, axial, team associated, and any I may be missing?
