Your video actually made me decide to go with the Olloclip core set, it has a super wide instead of the ultra wide which doesn't have the distortion, it comes with its own fish eye and macro too! Thank you!
Thank you for your straightforward shooting and examples of both awesome lenses. I've been watching video after video and this is the first one that gives a legitimate comparison in a wide scheme of colors and shapes. No superfluous speaking about the technicalities between the mm and perimeters or such and such. You just gained a new subscriber!
Seeing the comparison together, looks like the ollo clip has better image quality on both wide and tele. Both have distortion about the same amount but ollo clip seems clearer in this comparison. I love both and use both. But nice to see side by side like this. I do prefer having access to two lenses like ollo clip, faster switching and not having to carry two separate pieces.
The Moment wide angle is great whereas the Olloclip has a more pronounced fisheye effect. Both do a great job with telephoto. For the price conscious, Olloclip is a good value. For the best overall image quality though, Moment is superior. That superiority comes at a cost though.
I am 90% a still photographer. I also own the Olloclip Active lens setup. In still photography these Olloclip lenses create quite a bit of edge distortion along with chromatic aberrations. From what I've seen in on-line samples the Moment lenses have far fewer optical problems. The Olloclip is quick to mount and easy to carry, but it can also be mounted slightly off lens axis. The Moment Lenses are bigger and more fiddly to mount, but provided you get the mounting plate is on correctly - the problem of not centering the lens when mounting should be eliminated.
I had the ollo but I lost them :( I had the clip hooked up on my belt and It must have got tangle into something and the lenses fell off the plastic support. So I was trying to decide if to buy the ollo again or the moment. Thanks for the video! It really helps! Here’s what I think: I use it more for still photography than for filming. I was using the wide angle more than the zoom since I mainly shoot landscapes. I loved the possibility of using the ollo on the front camera, the moment doesn’t do that and for me it’s a major issue! I don’t mind the fish eye distortion too much and I love how wide the shot is with the ollo, I’m afraid the moment wide angle might not be wide enough for me. And because of the price difference I think I will buy the ollo again! I will just try to be much more careful this time.
I wish I could get the olloclip but I don't like how wide it gets, it's just to wide and I don't like the way it curves the sidewalk and buildings. But it's just so much cheaper and easier to install and take off. ahhhhhhh!!!!!! DECISIONS!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel your pain. Olloclip is much easier to carry around. Slips on and off. I have to admit that Moment has better quality. The images are crisp and less distortion in the corners.
I dont know if its just me but there appears to be some distortion (fisheye) on right side with the OlloClip at 3:42 (wide angle of dinosaur). Does anyone else see that
Great professional quality review! I think I'm going to go ahead with the moment, it seemed like there was less of the fish eye effect. The new and improved moment lens is coming out now, and supposedly its even less edge rounding.
Great comparison of the two lenses! From the looks of it, the video quality is negligible between the olloclip and the Moment lens. Do you have any experience with using a smartphone gimbal like the Feiyu Tech G4 Pro? I would imagine the olloclip would be better suited because of its weight?
It appears (Pun slightly intended..sorry) Olloclip = simpler, quicker, easier, some distortion vs Moment = better quality lens & image, but more to carry. If image quality is most important Moment seems to be better choice. For quick and easy solutions and quality not a high priority Olloclip. (I do Not own either)
Man, if I'm going to get lenses for my phone that are $100 a piece, they better be some killer lenses. The only lens adapter for an iPhone I've seen that I believe is worth every cent is the Moon Dog Anamorphic Lens. That lens looks amazing and gives an amazing image! I'm not completely sold on Olloclip/Moment lenses though except for maybe the Telephoto lens. But that's just me, what do you think about these lenses?
Eric Kirwan I don't have one yet, but unsqueezing the footage isn't an issue. Doing so gives the cinematic look which I really love. You can easily do that with apps for iPhone which saves you from having to do it through editing software on a computer. I'll be getting one shortly and will most likely make a video of my own review on it
Any advice on audio performance between these two setups? Olloclip covers up the mic next to the iphone lens, right? Where Moment leaves it uncovered? Have you found significant muffling with the Olloclip?
You do get a buzzing noise with ollo clip but using an external mic makes such a big difference. I suggest the rode micro or the shure mv88 it connects thru the lightning port and works magic.

they both looks great, but form your video I would go for olloclip! thanks for the video, it was great!
Thanks for this excellent video ..
Now i'm waiting for my moment lenses to arrive
Super useful comparison. Thank you very much for this work!

mm yessss
I’m in love with my Moment Superfish V2 Lens.
Thank you for this great review! 👍🏽
Thank you so much. I think I love the moment lenses
I wish you would have made an portrait comparison. I´m going to use this for vlogging.
Very useful video! Thanks!
Thank you, Sir! This help a lot. For me, moment (wide) looks better, especially on the corners.
Wide lens is what I'm looking for.
Absolutely. Dunno what kind of eyes people have thinking the olloclip is better. Looks like a fish eye with blurry and distorted edges to me.
Thanks for the review i was torn between the two.

ghanks for video, actually it’s both look amazing, hard to pick which one, i just bought the Ollo active, i love it, need time go out and shoot
Thank you Sir

does the external lenses improve the quality of the image or just control the wideness of the image ?
Can you use iPhone 7 zoom x 2 with the telephoto lens to get an even closer shot ?

Thank you for the review. What camera are you using to record this video?
Eric Kirwan hey, when you record yourself talking to the camera, are you using he front or back camera?
Can you install the Moment lense on the front camera?

Olloclip is the best do his job really nice and is more cheaper
I believe there are some lens correction presets for specific lenses in Lightroom. Do you know if there is any for them Moment lenses?
+Eric Kirwan awesome, thanks for replying! I'll check that out.
both lenses are great but I just prefer the moment lenses.
Loose of definition on the corners and strong chromatic aberrations....
