    Owen and Koko were High Energy. Owen teamed with Anvil as The New Foundation using the High Energy baggy clothes. Barbarian teamed with Haku at the time of Warlord's repackaging. He did join The Headshrinkers as Sionne

    Great Video my dude. I'm a wrestling historian so I love when you break down the careers of the wrestlers. I love that Rick Martel figure that pose is amazing. you're the best wrestling figure reviewer on You Tube no doubt about that.

    Rotundo was actually Wallstreet before IRS. He did use Wallstreet again when he went back to WCW as you said.

    just a small correction. The Skyscrapers were originally Sid Vicious and "Dangerous" Dan Spivey managed by HOFer Teddy Long.
    You are correct as well. Mean Mark Callous did team with Dan Spivey as the Skyscrapers. Mark was brought in to replace an injured Sid.

    Going back to revisit an older entry into the revolution archives before the revolution became new. I love this Hasbro series, it’s my go-to video series as a collector and longtime fan of wrestling and wrestling figures. Not a huge fan of the Savage figure just based on playability but it displays nicely, he was my favourite wrestler growing up and remains one of my favourites today looking back. I always loved the Rick Martel figure, and always liked him as a worker too. Man, I could shoot the breeze about wrestling with you for hours. Love hearing you talking about the history of the business. Wonderful video, I love being able to go back and watch these as well as enjoying the incredible new show. Happy Christmas sir.

    Thanks again..Well..you said it best,"Wrestling became unbearable during the early "90's ".I unfortunately couldn't agree more. I graduated in " 93 ,and was into wrestling about the same time as you. So I relate with your story telling. I was one of the biggest wrestling fans from about 1983-1989.I remember going to my first house show at the Baltimore Civic Center in September " 85.It was awesome. Hogan wasn't even on the card and it was almost sold out,about 16,000 fans. I can still to this day remember the entire card from the opening bout ,"Tiger Chung Lee defeating Sal Bellomo to the main event,"Intercontinental Title bout, Tito Santana vs. Rowdy Roddy Piper "with each result and what happened during the show. I loved how they would have interviews promoting each and every local house show. By doing that they built up hype and pumped up the story line. It worked! It was a special and unforgettable time. Fast forward to the last card I went to "93..They had every top star at the time on the card and there was maybe 1500 people. They would have the same card going from arena to arena. I remember a few bouts from that " 93 show. It had no wow factor.It was very boring and very hard to watch. It was cheap,I felt ripped off. It was also probably very boring for the wrestlers as well. I thought at the ripe ole age of 18 that perhaps I just grew out of it. But what happened is that they ruined something so special. Even though I always knew it was fake,I still loved it and literally couldn't wait to see what happened next. However once WWF was not even attempting to make it believable in the "90's with the cartoon characters and forgettable storylines. I felt like if they don't believe it,why should I. I certainly didn't want to feel that way,but they made me feel that way. Evidently, I was far from the only one .The drop in attendance from " 85 to "93 was no fluke. Anyway,I enjoy you taking us back into time to the glory days of wrestling. I find it very interesting. It seems like the wrestling videos that you do are your most popular. Or maybe just my favorites, lol. Ever consider recording some discussion shows/videos on some 1980's house shows that you attended?Or perhaps any 1980's wrestling topics. Just an idea..I would definitely be interested in hearing what you had to say about it. I don't think I would be alone. I bet you would get lots of views. Something about your pure, honest, and unbiased delivery of the history of wrestling is very captivating and a breath of fresh air. I don't believe wrestling will ever have that magic that it had in the " 80's. As Mean Gene and Gorilla would say," the electric is so thick you can cut it with a knife". It was true,watch some old matches on you tube and look how different the crowd reacts to matches. Not to mention the commentating/announcing is way better. A huge difference. Thanks for all your time you put in!!!Please seriously consider my suggestion,you would be great at it.

      I'm not too familiar with emoji's but if I was, I was put one of someone bowing to you here. Thanks for your memories and your feedback on my stuff. It really is the ONLY reason I take time to do these. Maybe if I grow to be a you tube millionaire, I'll do it for the money but right now, I'm a you tube $35.00-aire. I absolutely love your ideas for some future stuff on the channel. I have a good idea but I'm waiting until I unveil my most prized possessions but it will have to do with reviewing house shows, TV shows, and PPV's of this era. I'll make that announcement this weekend and see what people think.
      Again, thanks for the kind words. My videos are long and I talk alot but I like to tell the story and not just the memory but the emotion behind it.

      Hey brother, this is the same Gary from the other threads (using my non-work profile here). Fantastic review as always. I am super-psyched about the possibility of videos where you review house shows, tv shows, etc. I think that is a fantastic idea.
      I gotta tell ya, when I watch your videos and you tell your stories, I can't believe how much our paths are similar. I too, lost interest in WWE programming in about mid '93, and switched to WCW. I honestly believe I followed those characters (who many times were the original LJN figures, then Hasbros) because I felt like I had a connection with those characters.
      Another idea my friend: just throwing this out there, but have you ever thought about doing a video focused primarily on the Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling cartoon? I think you would knock that out of the park.
      Keep up the good work!

    The Powers of Pain history was a little different. Barb didnt leave right away. Fuji sold Warlord to Slick and Barb to Heenan. Barb and Haku would occasionally team. Later on down the road, Barb, under the name Sionne replaced one of the original Headshrinkers. (I knew he wasnt an original Headshrinker, had to look up to remember the history.)

    The Neidhart figure I also didn't like because much like the series one bossman he had a small head compared to the others. And poor Barbarian really got the shaft, no Ljn, no Hasbro.

      Those were great years. Nitro was great through 95-98. I would watch Raw and then the Nitro replay right after. But I felt 99-01 WCW was really bad, almost unwatchable especially the last year before they went under.

      yes....I just completed watching NWA/WCW from 84 to close the the last couple years were very bad. I hate to say I fast forwarded through alot of it

    Sid Justice. So as I recall he got that name due to how he came into the WWF. I think he came in 1st as a special guest referee for SummerSlam's match made in hell. And you know, with a last name like Justice, he must be a fair, down the middle guy. Perfect for a referee pal.
    I always had mixed feelings about this Macho. Although I loved that look of Savage in that era, the frills on the arms looked like wings and the action was awful. I did not use this for play that much. But It's good as an entrance look. What really annoys me is that this is the first Macho in full ring gear but he has no sun glasses. They left the glasses off the only non ring gear savage.
    Okay now it's time for the sentimental story portion of my comment. So a great athlete is a descriptor that never applied to me, but damn did I ever try hard. These figures came out in my area in the summer and I was struggling in little league baseball. My mom bought the series but didn't tell me as she wanted to use them as rewards. She wanted to reward me with my efforts on the field but unfortunately the only hit that ever got me on base was when the ball hit me. So she had to stretch to find a reason to reward me. I remember her telling me on the way how how proud she was of me and although I couldn't get a hit, I looked very processional in my uniform. She then rewarded me with the Model figure.
    Barbarian actually did join the Headshrinkers. He was called (pardon the spelling) Siony? I think he replaced Samu. But you're aloud to mess that up cause it happened in the 90's. Loved that warlord as a kid. Got a lot of miles on him.

    • @TheNew80sRevolution
      @TheNew80sRevolution  7 лет назад +1

      Great stuff man. I'm sure you ran out on the field and took your position like a champ! I remembered after Barbarian was indeed Sionne or Sione. I remember he had weird slicked back hair with tiny little curls in the back. Why do I remember that? Not sure.

    Hey man, you look good so I hope you're feeling better. A question for you. Who do you think was Ted DiBiase's best tag team partner, Mike Rotunda or Dr. Death Steve Williams?

    • @TheNew80sRevolution
      @TheNew80sRevolution  7 лет назад

      I feel great man....thanks alot for asking. Good question.....While I am partial to Mike Rotundo, I'm partial to 1985 Rotundo. I think Steve Williams takes it only because Dibiase teamed with 1992/93 Rotundo. I also think Steve Williams was best as a nasty, aggressive heal.

    Let me help with your questions regarding The Mountie. As a Canadian, and someone who actually works for the RCMP (I am not a Mountie but work with them), they do carry guns but do not carry shock sticks. The red outfit is strictly a ceremonial one that is only worn on special occasions. It is how the rest of the world recognizes the Mounties though. So there you have it. I liked that character as a kid, probably because he was Canadian and always made me laugh when he said "I'm the Mountie". Too funny!
