    Not just a great musician but what a historian of the instrument, these comparisons of style are great.

    One of my favorite musicians, not just for ear and touch and the music itself, but for how well your playing always fits with others. Thanks for the licks rundown.

    Wow! Thanks, Jerry. I have enough guitars to use one in Dobro tuning and try out these riffs for the first time - ever. I discovered your Slide Rule album years ago and that's when i learned about you.

    Great 👍 Gerry just one of the best most talented dobro players in the world and yes you have reiterated using other musicians licks but to offer and teach theses is a blessing .👏

    Complete novice Weissenborn player here, thoroughly enjoying the playing and the narrative, and looking forward to practicing these licks for myself. Cheers from the UK!

    Jerry: Thanks for sharing this pure gold. Between your crystal clear how-to and some recent encouragement from Tommy E, I detect a new purpose coming on here. Gotta Dobro up and git twangin'. 😎

    I don't know how I got this far without seeing your channel but I'm on board now. I'm enjoying your JD Aura Imaging pedal (I love it - every reso player I talked to recommended it) and looking forward to more of your videos. Thanks, TW

    El mejor músico profesional de Guitar Dobro, un día espero poder verle tocar en vivo... Disfruto verle tocar junto a Sam Bush, Bela Fleck y la leyenda Tony Rice. God bless you.
    Un saludo desde El Salvador

    I was in a long drive last weekend listening to Tony Rice and co. playing Freeborn Man and thought, man I gotta cop some Jerry Douglas licks. Not a dobro player but no matter!

    Hi my name is Dennis Fain. I am trying to learn how to play that steel no bro no bro anyway are they any? I know their books and some books of Bluegrass and country music using that but what I want to know I know you’re breaking it down to 4 foot threats and white strings to play. Thank you videos I would like to have a note, chart and white strings to play if there’s one out there somewhere or if someone can make one I would appreciate it very much to send it to me

    "throwing the bar" right? I learned using a peddle steel bar, I think weighed 2 lbs 🤔

    Interesting looking whammy bar. Does that raise and lower all strings like a Bigsby, or individual strings.?

      It's called a doubleshot tuning changer by hipshot to change between 2 tunings quickly without retuning old school method

  • @andrewaporter

    Is that a bending mechanism on the tailpiece of your dobro?

    • @josberentsen7374
      @josberentsen7374 2 года назад +1

      It is a hipshot double piece, to flip to an other tuning.
