Thank you for a great professional overview, it has made me feel a lot more confident to buy one of those. Hot Toys absolutely should consult you on the next flying version.
I would definitely use the Hot Toys 1/6 scale DeLorean Time Machine as a reference model and the DeLorean Time Machine Owner's Workshop Manual to build a replace of the time machine out of a real DeLorean down to the last detail.
I've watched several of your videos and this has been my favorite one so far. The bottom was modeled after the bottom of the time machine after its hover conversion. So it's even more weird that they gave it it's power hook box rather than the Mr. Fusion. Are you going to do a review on Eaglemoss's 1:8 scale time machine? I'd love to see how that compares to your cars!
My biggest issue with this version is they don’t light up the time circuits. They could have easily done that. Such a shame but a great replica of it none the less. Plus they have the reverse lights on all the time which isn’t correct either but I love my HT Delorean. It’s signed by Doc too.
I wonder if they decided to reference and build the interior of the BTTFIII Delorean with the idea that they will ultimately release several 1/6 BTTFIII Scale Deloreans; so why go to the trouble and cost of manufacturing 2 or more different interiors.
Terrific review and very interesting to learn about the inaccuracies, which only an expert can notice. I just got my Hot Toys DeLorean and I'm thrilled with it. The level of detail is phenomenal. My nitpicks are the stickers, which I don't think are appropriate given the price of the model. An actual license plate and full instrument panel (that can light up) would have been far better. It would have been nice to also have the full lighting on the outside components. A little more metal and weight would have been nice, too. But I'm really happy with it overall. I am planning to get a custom display and pose my Marty McFly with it -- glancing at his watch as in the movie. Thanks again for the great review and comparison to the full-scale replica.
“So I bought this 1/6 scale DeLorean” “Oh wow, you’re the luckiest guy in the world”, “I’m going to check it against my *1/1 scale 1981 DeLorean Time Machine* “
Thanks for a great and extensive review. The best part is comparing it to the real deal. You're review actually put me over the edge of not getting this, even though it's pretty awesome. But for 700 bucks I would really have liked it when all the things that light up in the movie actually light up in and on this toy as well. Especially the time circuits. Not sure if anyone can persuade me otherwise, cause I almost bought it. :-)
i still think the 1/8 th scale eaglemoss deloreon even with its short comings in parts is still more detailed than the hot toys version. thanks to moders like chloe powell and mike lane they fixed the issues
Just awesome review! Maybe they can consult you on the BBTF 2 hover version that they are thinking of doing, they had a prototype at Comic Con of it. Or maybe you should call them so that they get it 100% right the next time. I've got mine waiting for me at my local collectibles shop and it will look great next to you the flux capacitor I bought from you. Thanks for the vid!
now i will say the hot toys deloreon at the doors stayed up. eaglemoss should of used the same racketing parts instead of those crappy small door mounts had to replace those 4 times

Darrell Jacob JR This is less than $700, and still available for that much. And, no, that sculpt has some things better but the proportions are all over the place compared to this.
'I feel like I'm carrying a baby!'😂 Great video, seriously high level of expertise displayed here

I wish Hot Toys would make a Knight Rider KITT.
Hi Bob! I would love to see a comparison for the Mark 2 toy. I hope you plan on doing one.
Now do a review of the Eaglemoss Delorean
when you hit 88mph on your cars, do they go through a time travel sequence with everything lighting up as it should?
Hi bob my name is AARON Richardson and I too am a bttf fan . For next year I can't wait to get my delorean on my 32 second birthday
Great video
i love what you do bro,,, you rock!!!!!!
This is one of the most screen acuret delorean ever built *thunks hot toys delorean in the bonnet*
Great review! Question: did the model fail to get the exterior wires correct? Shouldn’t the exterior wires be yellow, red, purple and black?
Great vid, Bob!!! My HT Delorean is on the way. Did you get that band fixed?
Man..your Delorean time machine is epic! I'm so damn jealous. Did you get all your specs from the actual hero Delorean in BTTF?

I'm the only person who when he heard the piece that was breaking was dying inside ?
Haha, you'd think he would of shrunk his time machine... Oh I also remember how it could shrink in ready player one ...I think
