Great job! My house is a Victorian terrace with a passagea. The fireplaces at the ground floor are external but the ones in the first floor are internal. Should I just add two airbricks to the blocked fireplaces in the first floor? I want to block all of them since I can't use them but I want to avoid damp.
Hello, @buildingwithbudd I’m looking at doing this with mine… was going to cap the chimney so isit advised to still airbrick the back of the chimney breast?
Question, I live in a semi detached with a shared chimney breast between the houses. What's the best way to allow airflow into it? As access to the back of the chimney to put an air brick in won't be possible
@@BuildingwithBudd thanks, so i fi block mine i have to put a vent> Mine is a double with a fireplace in 2 rooms. it might be hard. we move in tomorrow and am thinking of putting a heater in there and clocking it up or even doing what you have done. So somehow i need air to get in at the bottom, Rght?
You need to get air flowing through, so the best one Is an air brick as low as you can get it , then it will flow up to the chimney pot , hope this helps 👍
Looks like youll be needing management Budd ill put myself forward 😉😂😂😂. Ill take a modest 65% hows that sound to ya ? Sold i hear ya say. Good deal. 👍😂😂😂😂😂

A true professional ❤
Many thanks for watching 👍🧱
What are the ties you put in the wall? Are they plugged? They look like frame ties for timber so don't want to use the wrong thing...
I think they are owlets

You definitely need some air flow, the cap on the top needs air holes as well so you get a flow of air from bottom to top, 👍
You forgot to put newspaper in the hole to be discovered 100 years later😂to excite someone
Cracking little job the Budd
Cheers Andy , thanks for watching 👍👍
How much would it typically cost to get someone to do this?
He showed you how to do it perfectly. Why would you need to get someone else to do it?
4 blocks and it’s done 😎
Weak tho
Like your right arm boy.

Put a gap on internal brickwork and install an internal vent. Obviously not as visually appealing as the outside airbrick but will prevent damp.
Excelente 👌🏻 🧱🧱👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Thank you thank you 👏👏👍
Why is the air brick put in back to front ?
I don’t know Chris, thanks for watching 👍
@@BuildingwithBudd I'm glad you don't know!
Top job that 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Why the air vent?
It’s to stop the chimney from sweating and causing random damp patches on the inside the property, many thanks for watching 👍👍

You boys are gonna be flat out when it comes to the North Walsham expansion!
Can’t wait Jon , let me at it 👍👍
I will never get rid of my fireplace gas is so expensive
No fly screen over airbrick? Won't pests have a field day?
I found a mouse corpse in mine 😮
Very sad I'm so glad I still have my fireplace I don't have to worry about gas prices I get my wood for free so I get free heating
Sounds like you have all sorted, many thanks for watching 👍
Is this safe to do. What about your outside chimney water and condensation and carbon monoxide poisoning
There’s a little clue , Air Brick, = air flow 👍
Yoube hit the big time there me ol pal, few more of them big uns and i reckon youll retire eh, whens Budds CD coming out, in time for summer eh?
