Av done lots of places , at my employer, av got to brick up bond skim and put on a vent so the cavity can breathe, av been sent to job's were plasterboard is used, and instructed to rip off plasterboard and brick, plasterer board will go mouldy in time ,

It shouldent go mouldy if there is a vent fitted the airflow wicks away moisture. I dont fit a vent to this one because to the left hand side is a 1 foot wide vent were the gas fire pipes come out. Is there anywere you use i could info about the plasterboarding molding?

Nice video! Quick question, which I think you might have covered already as you said it was being opened up again soon - is there any flex in the plasterboard, and if there is, does that then mean that the skim will crack with the movement? And will bricking it up prevent that movement?

No the plasterboard will not move and as long as you scrim tape around the edge of the board and old plaster it wont crack at all i will always use block it uo unless the client says theres a chance they will open it again.

It makes it set a little faster but i would rather use dirty water. There are a lot of people will say dont do it but i have been doing it 20 years now with no problems

Thats not gypsum is it? I know you threw in a few handfuls of cement for support but whats the skim that you use? Cheers, steve

It is a gypsum based plaster but no its not British gypsum. Its called Carlite ultra finish from a Irish company call gyprock. It sets in around 2 hours giod stuff.

Depends hiw you want it done but this cost £390

There is a side pannel with a vent in it so no need for 1 in the plasterboard. But i would put 1 in if there were none. Tbanks for watching.
