I really enjoyed watching her work on her car . I have the same car and have been having a lot of problems with my spark plugs and coils . Thanks for the video!!
It looks to be certain types of Honda FIt models. From what I have read it is for the 1.3 Liter models, and the hybrid models. The Fit is known as the Jazz in other countries and has been out longer. That's why they only had the 2007/2008 body design in the US while that design has been in other countries for years. If your Fit has the 1.5 Liter motor shown is the video, then it is only 4 plugs located towards the firewall. Hope this helps.
Any tips on what is going to happen to me, because it has on every car?: The spark plug boot sleeve will come off after I replace the plug. Or the whole socket will stick to the plug when I try to pop off the ratchet?
Hey @hotmetalslugs great question. Sorry it took so long to reply. I have not had that issue on my fit but have had it on other cars. We have always used a good pair of needle nose pliers if this happens. There are other options like forceps at Harbor freight tools but simple needle nose piers are all we have ever needed if the plug wire breaks off on the end of the spark plug. Hopefully this helps.
Make sure your engine is fully cool. And you could also a straw attachment with penetrating oil or some sort of penetrating liquid before you start. It will seep in there. When you re-tighten the bolt don’t overly tighten. I don’t know what the pounds of torque you need to apply but definitely no more than that. You could use an antiseize gel, like you use on wheel lug nuts, if you think that will be a future issue. Antiseize has helped a lot with lug nuts. Overall, hope this helps you out.
@@willtoulan that's great, I've used it before and that stuff is slick, got it on my laminate flooring and you need alcohol to remove the slipperiness.
@@momanddadmeetworld My wife has almost the same and this video has given me the confidence to replace her spark plugs and ignition coils myself. Thank you for the thorough and well shot video!
Ok What The Hell? I own 1st.Generation Honda Fit and there are Only 4 spark plugs and 4 Hitachi coil packs,my car came over on a boat from Japan so if ANY of the cars made and some were different, it would be the cars produced in Japan, and my car uses same everything as any other Fits on the road.Im my mechanic lol,I do everything from A to Z CV halfshaft driveshafts, struts and brakes, exhaust and codes 300,302,304 are just coil packs burning up and codes pop on from Random Misfires,I did plugs 1st,ran exactly same, then bought coil packs off Amazon at Only $34.00 ea and runs like a champ again.easy fix, easy to work on,easy lol

Boot grease,same as sparillug antibseize??
No it’s like a grease to keep plugs from corroding.
Got an “NGK”
Pulls out Denso plug 😂
Torque spec for plugs is 13 ft lbs or 18 Nm.
I spoke with honda service, they said that engine i-vtec has 8 spark plugs? Where is the true? Thanks for help.

The IDSI type of honda engine has 8 spark plugs.
4 infront snd 4 at the bsvk of the engine.
8 spark plugs = 8 Ignition Coils?

Any tips to avoid breaking the coil pack bolts? Ive seen / read a few people who had this happen to them

@@momanddadmeetworld Thanks for the reply! I used some PB blaster and took my time and they came off without breaking.

@@kynmasters8670 Thank you for the kind words. Confident you can do this!
@@momanddadmeetworld I did it! The fit is running great now. Thanks again!
First, disconnect the battery.
Fits are bad for shaking the plugs out, make sure to torque to spec every 30k miles
The car has 8 spark plugs and people always only change 4. The others are at the front of the engine!
Honda fit in 2007 only has one plug per cylinder, so only 4.
@@garystandke669 so a you own my car change all 8 and saying it's 4. Damn mechanic! Don't show this side of yourself jus google it, smh!
