heh. was surfing for 710 vids, saw a 2 call, small world. picked up mine from ups couple weeks ago on northern bvd (which is closing their walk in desk btw) I run an ocfd, 710 pulls everything in granted other rigs were 706iig & g90 (& usb sdr).
I like this 710 i noticed there is a ft710 field addition but for a lot more money but is basically the same radio without the speaker...makes me wonder what Yaesu is 🤔
Just give the last three letters phonetically, it's a bit quicker than the entire call sign and more effective. Thats how I do it anyway. 73, Pete WB4CGA.
I sold my dx10 after 9 months. I put the money towards a 705, to go with my 4 year old 7300. The dx10 has some major strengths, but it was let down by buggy firmware, a convoluted menu system, and the wost front panel design I have ever used. The Sherwood rating doesn't account for much if the radio is an ergonomic disaster.
RST is a legibility and strength report - not an indicated meter report. Every meter will read differently and many radios don't even have a meter. 5,9 is the report I would have given also.
Well it's not a base station sacrifices have to be made unless your one of those people who sit next to their truck or a park bench . But when your climbing into a hole it's more than enough . In the end it's unnecessary

Thanks for sharing. Yaesu is awesome. I recently got a 101mp and love it. Would love a video on your new m1 mikw when you get it.👍
I have the same setup as yours and yes it works great.

So does that verticle antenna work well on like 20m ,40m and such?? Very nice lookin radio!!
It seems to work well depending on band conditions like any of them
I run that same antenna 👍
Have you ever had an IC7300 if so how does the 710 compare. I am thinking about making the switch ? Thx
I have not but going to try and get one to see

@@RF_Burns thx
we are people using for a tuner with the 710?
As added protection tion and nonresonant antennas
You gave him a 59 but it was showing an S2 ?
Probably , make some mistakes when making videos but I typically give real reports

very bad spectrum scope

The 710? This radio has an excellent scope, it’s just been adjusted to cover a narrow section of bandwidth from what I can see.
Great video! de W2CSI
