The steelers had ZERO first downs in the first quarter, 2 drives in the 2nd half, ZERO POINTS in the second half, the eagles had 27 and a half minutes of possession in the second half of the game. Total time of possession: steelers with 20min and the eagles with 40min. Absurd!!!!!!!!!!! But ya... people who think those penalties are what cost the steelers 😂😅
IMO He should've got permission and for Hurts to look 1mm to his left before punching the ball out. The way Hurts' chin was grazed was dangerous Mahommes would've got the flag. IT'S US AGAINST THE WORLD FLY EAGLES FLY!!
if you were in the game thread on the Eagles subreddit during the fumble you should have just thought Jalen Hurts threw 10 pick 6es and pledged allegiance to the Taliban and Isis. People were literally FREAKING OUT over it. Dude has a broken hand and couldn't protect the ball. Any QB would have made that mistake
That's what I'm thinking. But with the Lions injuries, I don't know. A banged up defense can only be made up for by the offense for so long. I'm not doubting them or anything because they're 12-2 despite the injuries. But, I'd be lying if I said it doesn't look concerning.
I don't think the Steelers are pretenders, but I do think their offense is too dependent on #14 right now, but the Ravens game will tell the tale. I'm most concerned about the Steeler's short pass defense (Queen got confused over and over again.) Last, this game was a classic example of Tomlin's excellent preparation in one area leading to brutal exposure of his blind spots. They did a great job against Barkley, but the Eagles' mid-range and short passing game made the Steelers look stupid. And the game is different (not necessarily a different outcome, relax everyone), without Naj's JV blooper. The Eagles are running hot, and not in a fragile way, but in a -they have realized who they are and now just force their will on teams. They are extremely well coached. And everything starts with Hurts, who is excellent, and their execution doesn't have to be millimeter/millisecond precision when he has all the time in the world to think and see what the defense is giving up because that O line is probably the best in football. They made it look easy against a good team, albeit a team whose preparation and game plan had some tunnel vision.
The Steelers offense wasn’t their issue. Their defense was giving up VERY long drives and struggled on 3rd and 4th down. If they could have gotten off the field more the game would be different. No team should only have 2 possessions in a whole half
I know as an Eagles fan I am biased but I am sick of offsetting penalties on plays where one team is clearly at fault. That steelers player pushed slay into the bleachers for 5 seconds after the play was clearly dead. It wasn't impressive, since Slay is 80 pounds lighter. Slay should have a right to fight back, not be penalized for it. If the Eagles did that, I would be disappointed. If they got offsetting penalties, I would take it but deep down think that it was unwarranted.
Even if there were offsetting penalties for those two, the fact one of the Steelers ran in and threw a punch would have given them a different penalty all together. That's why they were given 2 penalties whereas eagles didn't get one. He was being mercilessly and one sidedly pinned into the bleachers after the play, and almost got clocked besides. It was utterly ridiculous.
The thing is, who's going to beat them? The Lions D is so banged up that the offense would have to hang 40 on an opponent with a decent offense, and the Eagles defense isn't going to let anyone score. It's the #1 defense in the league. I think the same thing if the Eagles end up playing the Bills. The Bills offense is awesome, but the D is mediocre at best. They got 40+ hung on them the past two games. The only two teams that scare me if I'm Philly are the VIkings and the Bucs and the Vikings I think would be held in check by the Eagles D. The Bucs seem to be Philly's/Hurts kryptonite, though.
I’ve thought the Steelers were frauds the entire year. The team to beat in the AFC looks like the Bills, and obviously you can’t count out the Chiefs. I have a hard time seeing the Steelers make the AFC championship game, let alone the Super Bowl. I’m an Eagles fan and a huge pessimist, but even I have to admit they’re looking pretty good at the moment.
Well what do you expect the only reason the Steelers always have a good record is because of tomlins mediocre coaching standards and because of pure luck
Not a Steelers fan but "mediocre" coaching doesn't allow you to NEVER have a single losing season in 16 years. I'm sorry but until you can show me another coach that can go 16 now going on 17 years of coaching without seeing a single record below .500 the disrespect needs to stop lol.
@@krisk3988 Tomlin is a great coach that will most likely earn a trip to Canton. But I think that it is a curse in disguise since they can't get any superstars in the draft consistently and they are never good enough to compete for a super bowl. I think they need a qb, wr, and some cbs to compete. Maybe a replacement for Heyward too since he is starting to get a little old.
@@ravijammalamadaka6029 I understand that and I hear that a lot. My thing is tho when you bring up that point as a reason to get rid of Tomlin you're saying you want to fire a coach who has managed to do solid things with mediocre talent in hopes of getting a coach that is going to tank your team so you can get a better draft position... In my mind many gems are found later on and many early draft picks turn into busts. If your team can't draft any talent it might be more of a front office issue that needs to be fixed not a coaching one.
As a steeler fan but more importantly a PA dude I’m happy for eagles fans they’ve been so trash for so many decades they deserve these good teams! The people of Philly are amazing shout out PA 🫡
that 10 minute drive at the end was insane.....

Ok. We'll see. This is the same team that choked its ass off down the stretch and got booted in the first round last year if I recall.

Lions are way too banged up on D. It will be Eagles/Vikings for the second time in 7 years. The outcome will be the same.

Probably Ravens vs Eagles. And the Bills even have a better shot at it than KC
