Finally I have come to terms with the fact that I must learn Konnakol, Sitar and a whole lot of other things as a pathway to my inner self. This piece is just amazing. I have been reading about the several sorts of Ragas and their uses, as well as their connection do the Spiritual realm. I have always loved this, I think I was not prepared.
Totally awesome! The Sitar is singing in joy! Ustad Khan Sahib and his brother Ustad Imrat Khan Sahib both play as they sing. Nice to see the legacy continued. We use Panj-di-Savari (15 beats) in Kirtan (Bhai Avtar Singh ji Raagi being a Icon) but this is first time I have heard it with a Sitar. The Tabla was very respectful and disciplined playing. Clearly he had the ability to do more but it is the Tabla player humility to accompany the Sitar. Both the tabla and sitar were Booth Khub! Look forward to hear more from them! Thank you Jio

In the Imdadakhani Khani gharana,no other sitar player has ,probably,played this beautiful and melodious Raga Megh,in a public function this far. Roopa Panesar 's effort to play this Raga,which is a typical seasonal one and melody based rather than fast tan and unusually high voltage stroke based ,symbolical,of this gharana.
Effortless mastery ! Among the most melodious renditions of this famous raaga I have come across ! This 15 beat taal is so unusual yet so nicely performed ! Regards!
