- Hi everyone and welcome to my channel, today I'm restoring a super rare and unique antique doll. She is from a small Russian village and I haven't found any other doll like her, but due to the face drawing style I suppose she is from the very beginning of XX century, either before 1917 or a little after that. This was a time consuming and rather hard work, but I love the result and I hope you will love this video too!

For some child this doll was told by them “I love you”, whispered secrets were told, many a party was attended by the doll, you have restored a cherished toy and dreams of a child that has grown old. Thank you for the care and compassion you have shown the viewers, I wish you were close so I could send my mothers doll to you. ❤
You touched this doll as if it were a real child. With so much respect and tenderness. It brought tears of joy to my eyes as I watched you bring her back to life. Anastasia was a beloved doll for many generations. She was patched and painted many times. You took the pieces and recreated her perhaps even more beautiful than before. I am so awed by your love and creativity in doing so! ❤🔥

What a wonderful thing to watch! She reused everything and made the rest from scratch on an antique Singer. Even made her tiny shoes and wig! That is one of the best if not the best restorations ever!Irene is so talented. That poor doll was a total wreck and became beautiful!

@@janetc3930 yes I think I will watch all of them. I have never seen someone who is so multi-skilled. Having this level of perfection and willingness to reuse and recycle everything 💜 I like to recycle but this level is just... I don't even have any words to describe. Amazing, really amazing!
@@Astara_star I’ve seen a lot of doll restoration and she is the best IMO, so meticulous. She can take a wrecked doll and make it beautiful. If you have never seen Ladonna Briggs, check her out. She is great too. She really brings old carnival dolls to life, also reborns.Both are a joy to watch!

This is the best most sympathetic restoration I have seen. I am fascinated by your commitment. The materials, labels, formulas, tools and sources are authentic. The knowledge you have acquired to restore such fragile artifacts is vast. Anastasias restoration was miraculous, and she even has a dimple! Thank you, this is the best restoration channel, by far.

Please be careful with those solvents, my friend used to be a nail technician and over time lost her sense of smell and she didn’t work as closely as you do to the places covered in acetone. Consider wearing a mask for chemical workings.

the one thing I love about your video's is it's quiet. There are no noisy music, background noise, jus the noise of you delicately fixing the article. I'm glad you enjoyed it, but this is the second time I've heard of a beautiful doll described as creepy. I have a very pretty restored doll that I sent a picture of to someone who also described it as creepy. A very disappointing response since I'd hoped the first thing noticed would have been the excellent work done by the restorer, or how pretty she was. Is this due to watching horror movies?
@@JB-3794 anything human shaped but not human feels eerie, some like them some dont. I find them odd, but you don't have to be sad people don't share your sentiments on dolls.

This is astounding! The historical knowledge of dollmaking; the large number of skills with different materials; aesthetic judgment; finally, the superb manual dexterity required to work with tiny objects! I am humbled by these many talents.! Bravo, Irene!
On a personal note: I shed tears many times during the second half of this, when the memories of my grandmother came flooding in, especially her repair of a big doll of mine, about this little girl's size, when its arm had fallen off. I loved my grandma so much, she had clever, artistic hands and a sense of humor. When she handed the doll back to the 5-year-old me, she began to giggle. I asked what was funny. Then I noticed the doll's arm was a bit crooked, sort of flopped over to the side. We both laughed. I didn't care, I loved it anyway and wouldn't let her correct it. I still have that doll - and many others that she had bought me over the years. Her name was Alice. I am 75 years old and I still miss her so.💕

I had the same grandmother. She would take the time to teach me many things and was never without patience. Fond memories are of her letting me help make fruit cake at Christmas for gifts. As well as how to shuffle cards and play Rook. She was full of little ideas that she taught a 5 year old and kept her entertained. I am 61 and she left us when I was 13. But when I speak of her to people who knew her, they remember the good kind woman that I do as well. It wasn’t just a grand daughters love that recalls a good person. She is one that I look forward to seeing again one day. I still miss her. I understand your love for your grandmother. We were both blessed to have had such a woman in our lives. ✌🏻🤍

Desde el momento que vi las manos de quien hiba a reparar la muñequita, supe que era una MUJER que tiene un gran corazón, amor y paciencia para darle vida nuevamente. Tengo 64 años y tuve una muñequita similar y me trajo bellos recuerdos.
El ver cómo la fue separando y el trato que le dió es simplemente HERMOSO y digno de ADMIRAR.
Es como congelarse en el tiempo, sin movimiento, sin respirar, sin más nada que esperar a deleitarnos con la sonrisa tanto de usted como de la preciosa muñeca.

Watching you work feels so relaxing, you put so much time and work into both the dolls and videos, your aesthetic really feels like those old fashion (in positive way) doll makers! Really love your content.
You can tell that this had once been a very beloved companion for a child, what with how many times it had been repaired to prolong it's life.
And I would say that perhaps the two layers of repaint that the doll underwent may have very well saved the integrity of the face/head over all these years and prevented worse warping or cracking. Especially considering this is a doll made from paper!
It is a marvel she survived so long.
I am so glad I got to go on this journey with you and watch you breathe new life back into her.

I am so glad I came across your restoration of that lovely old doll. It brought back so many memories. My father was a master tailor - and he taught me the basics, which I used. It's crazy to realized that behind this glossy pink it's papier maché!
I applaud not only your skills, but the minutie you put in everything, may it be by respecting and preserving as possible the original work, by using historical products even though it means taking much more time doing it by hand, and even by creating an incredible atmosphere with the aesthetic of your work table and the way you dress.
Not only that, but your different camera takes, and the quality of equipment you must be using to give us such beautiful shots, just confirm your sens of commitment and professionalism. It must be a pretty funny anachronism to see you work surrounded by high tech cameras, but that's the magic of videos : what we don't see, we can easily forget and just absorb the moment :)
