- Опубликовано: 3 фев 2012
- I recorded Leslie West (I believe this was his first public performance after he tragically had his leg amputated in 2011) at BB Kings NYC on January 31, 2012. Leslie recorded this with his band Mountain.
This man has more presence in a wheelchair than most guitarists do on their feet! Rock on, Leslie!
Leslie played at my high school in 1971. My parents wouldn't let me go. Thankfully, I got see him numerous times over the next decades. No one like him. RIP, Les.
With all due respect what was so wrong about seeing Leslie West at your high school 🙂 ??
I would have risked being grounded for 6 months because I would have gone there anyway...
I never got to see him play at my high school but I finally got to see him and his band members in a club in Paris ( I was born in Paris ) in 2008 and it was well worth the wait 🙂🙂🙂
@@jeromewagschal9485 You're right, I should have gone anyway! Effim!
Listening to music for at least 50 years never grew up , Leslie west is the best singer guitarist I have ever seen , and I have seen a lot, brilliant
Can I buy some more of that!!!
His first album just ripped me apart back in 1972 when I first heard it. I saw him in San Antonio "opening" for Sabbath. He did a volume swell solo that lifted the audience to the moon!
I'll buy that!!!
I was there. Just now touched back down. ...did Sabbath even show up for that one? (I don't think so)
@@unprevarication we're so happy you found us..
Mountain was one of the best bands in that era! It was the only hard & heavy rock band at Woodstock! My favorite band of all time!
Bought that!!!
I miss him so much.. RIP Leslie
When he switched back to a more Les Paul style guitar he was on a roll again. Though Night of the Guitars he shined and did Felix an amazing honor you could tell he loved him.
Thank you. The best comment I'll ever seen.
That reminded me. The bass player here hit a few FelxPap type bass runs. Sounds like MOUNTAIN!!!!!!!!!
Uh, but I must note that Corky Laing was in Florida on the beach at this 6ime.
My all time favorite guitarist, freaking genius
One of my favorite guitarists as well. You introduced him to me. :) He is way too under recognized. People don't know what real talent is!!! Screw society!!
Rodney Moore Powerful and so Soulful singer as well.
Bud amps Budda ?
I'll buy that!!!
Keep on surviving, LW. We ain't ready to let go
He does so much with just 2 fingers. He sounds great.
What a great hard-core Rock voice.Great guitar player.Great presence. One of my all time favorites.

I can play the guitar like that...in my dreams...
Always was and will be one of my favs - he can do it and so damn good

Bought that.
Who! How! Or what the fuck could follow that? A genius, pure musical genius. For those about to rock, Sir Leslie West, we most humbly salute you. Amen:-).
I proclaimed him Dr. Leslie West.
God Bless Mr. West!!!!!
That's what I told him.
Thanks for posting this. What a band. Leslie is Legend.
Proudly i own this guitar model and the pick Leslie have me is on the back of the headstock
Lenda Leslie
Love you guys---long time! XD
RIP Leslie West...
Happy 67th Leslie
Bobby Rondinelli on the tubs.... Fuckin' A!!!!............ Leslie may have lost his leg, but his soul still pours out of his Axe!!!!
Turn the volume up!
BIG ENERGY ! MAESTRO FOREVER! \m/
Man was a WALL of sound
Genius
Foda demais, por que eu não ouvi isto antes?
Freakin great. I like Rev Jones a lot more than I did. He cut the pony tail. He's also incorporated some of Felix's runs in the song. He can play like a beast but still needs the vintage fat muddy tone & preferably from a really overdriven tube amp.
Ack! That was tight. That's what I just said, too. Yea, yea.
great! is this bobby rondinelli on drums?
Nossa,tão foda...tão foda que me arrepiei
Ahh, Leslie te dio un been polvo.
Damn, I miss Felix..
I will miss you Mr. Weinstein...
what a terribly thin tone that bass player had
Tragically? Leslie has diabetes. That's tragic. Being so over weight for so long will catch up to you....
Leslie was morbidly obese in the 70s. He looks terrible in some footage from that era. He has a naturally large body type. He actually trimmed down significantly and stayed that way for many years. otherwise, we would have lost him 30 years ago. So glad he remains with us.
I just hate the long intros..... JS GET TO IT !!!!!!!!!
