There's a theory that the glove man is his adult self, and that he's coaxing his younger self to become the persona that his crush likes earlier on in his teen years. There are shots of the glove man attempting to put the mask over his younger self, and the second time, he side-eyes back to warn glove man not to do it. The manga 'Jibun Kaigi', as mentioned in the subtitles near the end of the mv, is about a guy meeting several versions of himself in the future who each argue on which path he'll take in the future, since each version has suffered some form of bankruptcy due each version's mistake atop the other. This could relate to how glove man attempts to steer his teen self into the direction of his celebrity persona, perhaps to score his crush earlier on in life, or to prevent something that happens in the future. Of course, our protagonist refuses as he realizes that the problem of a fake persona can be resolved if he just never created one as symbolized by the balloon bursting around his head, or the mask being removed by his adult self.

The Main Character is an Introverted person, but a Girl helped him to get use to the outside. The Lyrics "Bit by Bit, I come to hate it, but I come to like it" might suggest that he is having fun with the Girl (By playing games like Dart, Tag or something) (This "Theories" are not true but I want to share the things I thought in the video)

I'll explain my take on the song. Like it says at the end, it's based on a manga about a boy meeting versions of his future selves, but they cannot get along and it results in tragedy. Keep this in mind, as it's what I base a lot of this off. MC (the original, dark-haired boy) is starting out as a celebrity (the stage, concert-like scene). His future versions appear, intruding on his daily life in various ways (different coloured versions of him doing all sorts of stuff and the girl laughing), and whilst it can be fun, MC is confused as hell and wants to get rid of them, but he can't (his expressions and reactions, him dropping a stone on a mushroom thing only for a built mushroom-headed guy to pop up). So, he tries to get along with them, making deals etc. so they don't interrupt his daily life (shaking hands with the masked guy). The masked guy in particular seems like a successful, celebrity version of him, but the mask infers he's faking his personality; he's just putting on a façade at all times for fame, money and girls (him stealing or attempting to steal the girl MC liked). He's also seen trying to put a mask on MC's head, trying to convince him to lead a fake yet successful life, but the second time MC glares at him; he doesn't want that. In the beginning, we see the MC falling, which many others have inferred to mean he's committing suicide. In the end, we see a version of him with a giant bubble as a head with 'I' written on it blow up, and it cuts to MC laying on the ground with blood around him with the girl leaning over him, forcing a smile with tears falling... Perhaps after the fall. I think, he probably commit suicide due to built-up anxiety, confusion and depression (the bubble him blowing up, the warning labels in a scene with a council of his selves symbolising his increasing confusion and anxiety about the situation). Seeing all the versions of himself that were failures or fakes, and seeing the girl with the fake celebrity version of himself (not sure if they kissed, train zoomed by, so maybe MC's misunderstanding, and she rejected masked guy or something), he kept getting more and more confused, anxious and depressed. He couldn't take it, and ended it. So yeah, pretty sure the trend of sad songs is still going strong. This is all just my interpretation, but it does seem like the most likely meaning.
Correct me if I’m wrong but the girl seems to not have any tears. I took it as him finally killing off his alternate persona and coming to terms with who he is, which the girl seemed to accept
the glove guy is also him but a socially accepted one or that ideal guy but not really his real personality or like the fake personality we create to be loved hence the glove MASK but he didn't want to be liked for what he isn't so he was trying to stop them from kissing in that one scene together with his other 2 selves that's why there're three hands reaching for her before the train interrupted

I think the future selves argued over what he should do because he has a tendency to isolate himself for fear of not being wanted by those he love. The girl is cheery and helped him get away from his loneliness, so when he saw that she was going to commit slewer slide (train), he reached out for her. So the hand man is actually him that got close enough to her (scene where hand guy takes her) to pull her away from the train. Or at least, his emotions exploded to wanting her to stay there with him. I think this interpretation is sad and cute
May I recommend reacting to one of Harumaki Gohan’s songs? Either Melty Land Nightmare or Cobalt Memories would be good for reactions imo He’s great because not only does he write and sing his music, but he also draws and animates the mvs for them. He’s so talented it’s sickening really

I feel like the mask guy is the protagonist trying to persuade the younger self to be like the mask guy early so the girl will like him easier but the boy rejects this trying to get the girl to see who he really is and love him for that instead of just a persona
