There are not many performers whose live performances meet, if not surpasses, the quality of their studio works. Eivor is one of those few who can. When experienced in person, her warmth and beautifully infectious personality greatly adds to the beauty of her art.

OMG I have never heard of her, and I was getting goose bumps on top of goose bumps. She sounds so etherical! One of the most lovely songs I have ever hear describing falling in love sensation.... Eivor ❤❤❤ I had to stop and find out who was singing ❤ Eivor is from the Faroe Islands. Like Iceland was and Greenland is still a part of Denmark ❤ At the moment she known for Music to a Netflix series The Last Kingdom about the Vikings. The Faroe Islands is situated 260 km North of Schotland, between Norway and Iceland ❤ Eivor is now Living in main land Denmark ❤ She is planning a Europe Tour including UK

Kate and Eivor are my two favorites, both are just magical.
Eivor sings in many different languages but she is from the Faeroe Islands and she has soooo many great songs -- She sings to your soul so that no matter what language she sings in you feel it -- Try Gullspunnen sometime --- Its my newest favorite by her -- She deserves way more recognition than she gets -- her live streams during Covid lockdown in her home in Denmark were a real treat and it was wonderful to see her gentle nature and meet her husband sister and stepdaughter -- I love her too Harry
Eivør, like all Faroese, is a people that originates from the Celts and the Vikings. And Faroese will not be called Danes. It is an insult to say to a Faroese that he or she is Danish. The Faroe Islands have their own parliament, which is the oldest parliament in Europe. The Faroe Islands are independent and have an independent economy that is one of the strongest in the world today. The Faroe Islands have their own language which is not an easy language to learn. The Faroese generally understand and speak English, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Icelandic. The Faroe Islands are a colony of Denmark, but the Faroese call themselves Faroese and not Danes. So Eivør is not Danish and not from Denmark either. She is Faroese and from the Faroe Islands.
Apart from that, it's great to see you appreciate good musk and Eivør's unique voice. She has performed several times in England. Her last appearance was in Dec 2022 where she performed at a big Christmas concert.

she is truly unique, a massive vocal talent. there is something magic in nordic music. it's the long and dark winter, you cannot have sex all day long so people focus on books - and music.

+, I always imagined it is about a Goddes falling from the Ether for a mortal, towards Earth - from somewhere in Space just floating between galaxies, finds our Galaxy, finds the Solar system, at one part the music goes like she just passing through the asteroid-belt, passing by the big planets when suddenly a calming blue hued planet appears, that's when we think the song finished but then comes the atmosphere and just speeds and speeds and gets closer and closer to the ground

In addition to her voice and the song itself, how it builts and never lets down, I just looove the slow yet intricate drum, the crushing bass, how she adds the reverb at the end of her phrases and how this creates a repetitive eagle-like sound at the end of phrases in the chanting part itttsss just uuuugh
And when she sings "I've seen the future" the music becomes so bright I feel she sees a beautiful future 🥺 (I suspect it's a music theory scale thing - incompetent simple listener/feeler here xD )

She is Kate-like but very much her own artist as you’ve seen.
She has done one Kate cover though “Hounds Of Love” which I highly recommend. The video alone is a great work of art.
Kate Bush is the trunk of the tree. The branches are Bjork, Tori Amos, PJ Harvey, Fiona Apple, Eivor and and a thousand others. She led the way and inspired so many other wonderful female artists.

Kate is a massive influence but not so much on this song. Eivor's song Boxes has Kate all over it and for me is the current gold standard by which all things should be measured. It's almost impossible to sing, unless you are Eivor.
