Matched makes more sense for flat snares, trad makes more sense for tilted snares. Matched is good for cleanliness, trad is good for aesthetics. Everyone be quiet now I’m sure the man knows how to play both anyways 😂
It’s good but I hate that it’s matched not for the fact that it’s match but just because if they want to do dci or wgi they’ll have to rewire the left hand to do traditional
I understand the logic behind flat snares using matched but it would be a sad day to see the standard switch to matched for snare lines. Just like it was kinda sad in my opinion when most corps ditched their classic uniforms in favor of indoor jammies.
I’m gonna second you on that uniform part. Those classic uniforms with the shako and plume look soooo good DCI I don’t understand why they had to make it a Halloween party. I hope they change things back.
Mike L there’s no need for match grip if you’re playing on a flat singular drum and you look like a chicken about to try to fly. I don’t like match on snare.
RTV a lot of Texas uses traditional. Hebron uses it. Coppell, Marcus, And us/ argyle uses matches because it’s easier to keep your chops up and you don’t have 2 different things going on in each hand so the consistency keeps it a lot cleaner too. Also a lot of Texas schools don’t do indoor and they also play mallets, etc. it. Keeps us more rounded players.
The mext neasure
Debatable
This solo was very easy and i like it
To play with like 7 snares? Not really
A very sound from the vandegrift battery this month
FootballDrummer lmao u answered my comment the other cuseo

the cleanest lines play trad on flat
Thank you.
Ah yes finally a man of culture
@TRAVIS DHUY lol same ive gotten so used to trad. My left sucks with matched
Reese Fleming in DCI yea but high school, or at least in Texas, marched is winning a lot of comps.

Making Amends Groups will obviously go through the basics of traditional, or else match grip wouldn't exist since it would be useless.
They could do tenors or bass
Lol they still know how to play traditional, there are a lot of people who made top DCI groups who came from matched schools
I think the hoardes of tom aungst kids who go through dartmouth will tell you its not a hard transition

no to both
Can that left hand turn sideways?!?
L
like bass drum?...i guess they could....lol. #MatchedGripFTW
Mrnicknick02 There's no need for traditional if the snare isn't tilted.
Mike L I know

Can you go over it again? You went too fast
Just rewatch the video
Yee Haw it’s a joke
Almost made me chuckle
Why match grip

They probably a lot better than u too😂
Hebron plays matched?
zettabyte0 no
Ryan Ruth well i mean duh, trad is harder technique-wise therefore harder to clean and make look unison
Matched > traditional. Traditional is fun but matched is just better.
Nah trad is better
Double traditional > matched. Symmetrical AND cool.
nah fam traditional is wayyyy better
swliam. Trad is better for looks, but for use and practicality matches is better.
yes
Good stuff, but why no traditional?? Literally matched snare is useless
Sadiq Muhammad but traditional on a flat snare is useless
Matched on snare makes more sense when it comes to a flat set up. That's why I prefer playing on tilt with traditional. 👍🏼
@@JRUU775 I suppose so I'm just saying, they will have to switch anyways if they ever want a future in dci or wgi
@@sadiqmuhammad396 they're probably striving for cleanliness which is better with match grip
Most instructors prefer their students to learn matched so they can also play Tenors and Bass Drum without having difficult switching grips
Match grip? Dafuq
Their drumline better than yours? Dafuq
