Probably because it wasn’t perfect, there were some timing issues. But it makes me feel better about my drumming ability, cuz I’m the same way. It’s hard to notice it when you’re playing it, but then you listen to yourself and think “oh god that one part was bad”. Still better than the first dude that popped when I searched for this

Sounds like it to me. Most logical way to play it. Playing straight r l r l r would kind of leave you fucked when you go into the next measure.
