Welcome Back! That is a nice looking herd of cats you got. Really like the custom fork and choice of brakes. The color combination turned out well including the shoes. Good luck on the home search and stay safe.
You could next time if decide to change a steerer tube on a fork is to put it in the freezer so it will shrink a tiny bit and heat the crown and it should slide together easier.
Going to be really interesting to hear your thoughts on that brake setup! Awesome build as always man, also LOVED seeing all the rare in interesting parts you've got!
@@Ali_Clarkson Of course it's ok to take a break and think if what you are doing is still what you want to do. Anyway, I hope you have come to the conclusion that it still is and I look forward to seeing more of your inspiring and incredible videos. I like the style of how they are made. Many people are happy of your return. 😉 Greetings from Germany
I have the same raceface seat post and I used to have the Chris king hub and the azonic handlebars... as well a marzocci bomber spring forks super smoooth! Greetings from Mexico !
i once read putting grease on the square tapper will allow for too much sliding when tightenning the crank on and maybe crack the aluminium square shape crank hole because you can over tighten because it slides
Another awesome video Ali,I love how you make bike builds fun,I do the same when I fix friends bikes or swap frames for them. all about the fun terminology...keep up the good work :-)
Excellent edits, Ali. My only advice for press fitting would be; put the steer tube in a freezer for days, which contracts it's OD- probably slip right in.
Those Middleburn cranks/chainrings are so good. I broke one of those uno chainrings and they warrantied it no problem. Been riding on the cranks for about 14 years with no issue.
Very nice! I might grab some of those tyres for my 2003 DMR Switchback. I recently fitted a ridged steel bike packing fork as it was one of the few I could find with suitable geometry for replacing 130mm of travel.
Great vid mate! I saw seth make videos about flipping bikes for profit, i think a series where you buy parts and build cool bikes to sell would be popular.
I love the title of the video made me laugh so much what could go wrong a lot if Sam pilgrim build your bike LOL did someone turn the thermostat up in Scotland on Wednesday 27° in the Highland they must’ve thought they was in the Bahamas lol
I've got an Inbred, black, with mech hanger. Nice frames. I recognise the name Brant Richards, him and Steve Worland wrote the Complete Book of Mountain Biking, the introduction was by Gary Fisher (1997). I've emailed with Mr Richards before, about bike frames unsurprisingly. Small world indeed.
Early gang pin?
How is this posted 3 hours before the vid uploaded

Sat in the corner at a friend's wedding waiting for this to start. Excited for you to be back, Friday's just haven't been the same. 😁
I hope you didn’t get caught! 😂
Glad you are back. Seeing you fitting those old parts feels like we have known each other and played together since long time ago.
I think a lot of people ran some of these parts and either know the struggle or enjoyed the freedom the bike they were bolted onto gave, much bonding!
So pleased you have recruited a good cat team. Tansy would be so proud!
She would’ve hated them 😋
The cute thieves have good taste!
Welcome back .. you were missed !
Bingo! Think I've found my new favourite channel.
UK based 👍🏻
Bike tinkering 👍🏻
Wholesome nerdiness 👍🏻
love the wood block as a headset press. or as we used to call it in my shop, the Bark Tool
Really great to see you back online. What a cool build. Good luck going clipless!
Thanks David!
Oh yes, please film that process 😂 💙
Absolutely stunning retro build! Pleasure seeing another Single Speed Bike that is unique!
Awesome build Ali...Probably my favourite era of MTBs. Always wanted an Inbred!
Glad you like it :)
I would recognise that dropout anywhere 😊 I loved my Inbred, saw it in MBUK in hot pink and fell in love, then got it in white with matching forks
Love it!! Such a good mishmash of neon and raw and beaten up components. Hope it rides as good too!
I’ve not taken it out for its maiden voyage yet, I hope it rides well too 😋
Thanks Ali, from your info I contacted Ande and he managed to weld disc brake tabs onto my two old steel frames, breeze new life into them! Thanks 👍☺️
Looks crazy and oldsCOOL!)) Like it.

Looks great and loved the video style. Very cozy shop, hope to see a lot more of it.
Thanks Luke, if I get the house then I’ll be sharing some garage build videos for sure!
You could next time if decide to change a steerer tube on a fork is to put it in the freezer so it will shrink a tiny bit and heat the crown and it should slide together easier.
I'm happy you moved to the countryside!
I haven’t officially moved here yet, nothings set in stone but I’m hoping to find out this year
@@Ali_Clarkson then I'll root for you settling there:D
👍 "Great success!" 👍 Borat approves smacking the steering tube out of the crown.
Wow, I struggle to unscrew things, and I have 2 functioning thumbs! Those kitty cats done good getting you those parts!
Good to see you back on RUclips ali cool retro build
Thanks it’s good to be back :)

Your garage awesome . It's like a cycle workshop where bikes are build.
Thanks, it’s so nice to have a space!
Cracking build. Good to see you back.
Thank you!
I have the same raceface seat post and I used to have the Chris king hub and the azonic handlebars... as well a marzocci bomber spring forks super smoooth! Greetings from Mexico !
Great taste you have :)
Really enjoyed this. Appreciated the “technical” aspect of building your own forks etc. Great vid 👍🏻
ceiling needs more forks. dope build though, can't wait for the first ride (and the inevitable clipless tip over)!
Can never have too many ceiling forks!
Very cool Ali. The tan walls and silver spokes really suit the bike. Love the Middleburns , I had the XC duo's back in the day.
Thanks Mikey, glad you’re keen :)
What an awesome workshop you have there! The bike came out looking soo fresh!
Best of luck with the house!
Once we get confirmation on the house I’d love to completely gut this garage and make it look really neat! Thanks for the well wishes :)
that is such a sweet build, extra points for the fork.
i once read putting grease on the square tapper will allow for too much sliding when tightenning the crank on and maybe crack the aluminium square shape crank hole because you can over tighten because it slides
Ali, kitties, intersting bike being built -> me happy :)
Result!
Man your bike builds are the best who would even attempt to replace a steerer tube sick
A desperate person that’s who 😂
wicked man Ive had an On One inbred about 10 years love it lovely hard tail, I have a 8 speed all round get around/ Enduro bike with mine
Nice :)
I wish my cats would bring me parts like this!
Awesome vid, awesome build!
Makes me want to build a single speed.

Ali Clarkson + Cats, how did this become even more perfect!
Welcome back Ali!
Saw a purple bmx in the intro. Maybe a bmx video might happen? Just a thought. Always glad for the videos Ali!
That’s not mine, it’s my fiancées but keep your eyes peeled as maybe I’ll have something built sometime

Really nice bike, well done 😊
Thanks Martin :)
sick video dude so glad your back
Sick build Ali!
Thanks!
Yay Ali finally back with another bike build.
Excellent edits, Ali. My only advice for press fitting would be; put the steer tube in a freezer for days, which contracts it's OD- probably slip right in.
I do actually have a freezer in the garage too!
Those forks look awesome! I’ve always wanted some with that style.
The legend is back🎉
Those Middleburn cranks/chainrings are so good. I broke one of those uno chainrings and they warrantied it no problem. Been riding on the cranks for about 14 years with no issue.
Yeah, they’re legendary bits of kit!
@@Ali_Clarkson hard to get in the states. I'm lucky!
My kind of build!. All my mates have e bikes with huge travel!... I love a simple bike, just have to be super fit lol
Nice fork and seatpost 👍👍
Very nice! I might grab some of those tyres for my 2003 DMR Switchback. I recently fitted a ridged steel bike packing fork as it was one of the few I could find with suitable geometry for replacing 130mm of travel.
They’re great gravel tyres and look cool too :)
Nice! I have a on one scandal v1, such a great single track bike.
Hype is definitely on point :DD
Turned out awesome!
9:09 love the way the hammer blows are in time with the background music here :-)
It’s my dream garage. Gorgeous.
Amazing build!!!
Cheers!

Yeah those are cool videos, I like the idea but I’m looking for a bike sponsor at the moment which would make that tricky
Missed you Ali! What an awesome video and incredible bike :)
Thank you!
Those risk jose adapters are really good and saves your frame from scratches from the zip ties moving
Yeah, very handy
Humorous, informative and fun. Subbed!
Damn right fella, use yer initiative, nicely done
Outstanding Sir....✌️
Loved the video! I’ll try to do the mtb god’s call with my old bars haha
Just make sure they’re not blocked before you go full blast 😋

I live how he always makes the joke about what the cats dragged in
That fork is rad!
I had a imbred same vintage almost identical build I loved it
I like your taste :)
Looks awesome 👌🔥
Thanks :)
Ali makes the best bike build videos on the whole of the internet.
The cats make the even better
Was really hoping that you had brazed the forks and we had a fork build video to look forward to. Hint hint.
Maybe in the future ;)
I remember watching that hub video too 💯
Cool bike, love the single-speed vibe!
Love it! Brings back some great & not do great memories haha
I love the title of the video made me laugh so much what could go wrong a lot if Sam pilgrim build your bike LOL did someone turn the thermostat up in Scotland on Wednesday 27° in the Highland they must’ve thought they was in the Bahamas lol

Good to see you again Ali, its been to long 👍
Thanks, nice to be back!
Nice build man! But holy Sheep!!!! That seat post is insanely high lol.
Insane build, I was hoping fixed gear, even single speed it rocks🤟🏻🤟🏻
Great build mate. I'm off out on my OnOne 456 shortly. 26 ain't dead, just a bit slower and more eventful.
Nice choice :)
"add some fire" that may be my new go-to when something needs torching
My neighbour's cat loves the smell of GT85 (who doesn't?), and always comes to say hi (or get high) when I'm working on my bike.
That looks pretty cool!

Good job!!
Love the Miata !!
Great vid!
That’s Alex :)
Nothing like building a fun single speed to rip around on. I have 3, 1 for mountain biking and 2 for the greenway.
A gluten for punishment eh? 😆
@@Ali_Clarkson and at 59 years young.😁
Used to have a set of those Pace RC36s on a Rockhopper!
Edit: and the Azonic Double Walls too
Nice bits of kit!
Gotta Love an On One 8-)
Nice build! I did something similar with a Diamond Back hybrid frame
Nice to klunker style 💪💪💪👍
Like this build.
damn what a sweet build!
