"Please Manufacturers start putting Ryzen CPU in high end Laptops" - couldn't agree more
I said a few times, why don't laptop manufacturers offer a AMD variant and an all AMD laptop e..g AMD CPU and graphics card
@@harrytrueman4216 Intel plays their own game with manufacturers to not use AMD CPUs.
Ill buy an xps 15 or 17 with amd and nvidia gpu as soon as it comes out
It's also a branding and image thing. Non-enthusiast consumers are used to hearing that cpus come from intel. They are used to laptop cpu tiers being decided by ideas such as "i3 for budget, i5 for all-around, i7 for performance". MOST people I know have never heard of AMD. The few that have, might still be under the impression that it's "not as good" as intel because of past branding and marketing campaigns. Many manufacturers that don't cater exclusively to computer enthusiasts are aware that saying "intel inside" tends to sell more, especially on mainstream non-gaming models (for now). Also, as @Atul Kumar Pandey mentioned, Intel seems to play their own game with manufacturers.
@@harrytrueman4216 2 main reasons.
1. Manufacturers didn't get samples till December or November. So they have to obviously test and prove AMD's claims of performance and AMD has stipulations regarding chassis requirements based on the SKU of CPU. E.g 4900H would go into a laptop 20mm thick or greater because of the 45W TDP but a 4900HS will go into a chassis Up To 20mm thick as an exampl since it's 35W TDP chip.
2. R & D. Basically with no one expecting such a massive leap in performance, it would be pointless putting these chips into Intel Laptops with overbuilt cooling.. so they obviously had 3 choices. i) slightly tweak Intel chassis for the U series chips and drop in Ryzen 4000 OR Wait a bit longer to Make Chassis ' dedicated to these chips. Given how most manufacturers think about profits and Intel models are more common and more expensive, they would go Intel anyway. The consumer still believes Intel is the better option because that's just how it has been for years.. decades even.
These videos are so good it’s starting to piss me off that I only just discovered your channel. Great work.
Legend!

Thanks for the deep reviews and for include the screen flickering test. Eyes health Is very important and seems nobody cares
Esa Elias Nope they don’t!
@Esa Elias I've never heard of this. As far as I know they don't.
Screen flicker is unpleasant but it won't harm ocular health.
@Sam S9 Thanks.. for some reason now seeing this comment.
After looking at my smartphone screen too much to play a game I experienced very red and dry eyes. At was so bad that I went to the doctor to get eye drops. It seems like it was due to screen flickering / PWM (pulse width modulation). I now prioritize a matte display without pwm over anything else in a screen.
Your reviews are incredibly detailed. I really appreciate how you dedicate time to the issues with a laptop as well as the performance. Keep up the excellent work
I like that you talk fast and not wasting our time everything is on point , just subscribed !
If you want to buy a laptop, don't waste your time elsewhere just come right here. You give the best information or buying guide. Thank you
Awesome review love how you mention things like opening with one hand and the circumstances that it gets hot/loud in. Also appreciate the comparisons!
Really appreciate the audio latency test! You are the only one that does it. Best laptops reviews I've seen!!
Would be even greater if you could add some sort of audio production benchmark such as DAWBench, since audio performance doesn't really reflect very well on other cpu benchs. Would be very valuable for people like me who does audio work for a living
Josh I’m happy I found your channel a couple months ago. Your reviews are fantastic.
Thanks mate. I appreciate it
These are by far the best laptop reviews in RUclips I just wish you can do more of them.
I'm trying my friend!
I just want to share my experience - just over 6 weeks in - of the XPS 15 9500. We bought 4 top-spec versions of these, at a total cost of almost £10k, for our business partners. They look and feel great, at first... but the aluminium is very thin (nothing like a Macbook) and dents incredibly easily. There are SO MANY calibration issues with them. Thermal regulation is a joke; you need to completely shut them down before putting them in a bag, or they overheat to a dangerous degree. The trackpad and keyboard randomly glitch, and the process management is shot - we each have to restart at least once or twice a day, just to get the computer functioning again. The list goes on. They feel very much like pre-release prototypes, rather than high-end or even market-ready machines. Having switched from a 7-year old Macbook Pro with Windows 10 running on Bootcamp, which was otherwise flawless but no longer powerful enough, I'm severely disappointed and frustrated with my experience of Dell. Apparently we are far from alone in these issues - many of which apparently even existed with previous models and were never resolved with drivers / BIOS updates.
Very good comment. Thanks for sharing
You must have a bad batch, I don't get any of these issues with any of our XPS 9700s, just call Dell and get them swapped out, have you even reported the problems to Dell, whenever we get problems with our Dell machines there is a Dell technician on site within 24 hours to sort it out.
@@paulround8501 do you have issues with it now?
Fantastic Laptop but i cant overcome myself to buy a Laptop with an Intel CPU which gets destroyed from a any 1000$ Laptop with an AMD Renior CPU. I would be happy with the 4800H without discrete GPU. Not a Gamer but a worker..
theres a mi laptop coming with 4800h cpu only
@@haroonmuhammed3513 Now zouäve got mz interest. Got any sources?
That specific touchpad register is one of my greatest pet peeves. I feel reviewers often miss such an overlooked component when discussing comfortability of any laptop. So far only found you and Tek Everything caught that issue. Great review Josh!
Great Review... 👍👍👍
When other Reviewers unashamedly praises the manufacturers & models, you give the real-time facts & figures moreover I can feel the unbiased review...
This is the only one reason I subscribed this channel...
Great review! Thanks for mentioning fan noise. Many reviewers just skipped that.
Just returned mine after owning it for a month. First issue was that the lid did not stay shut - the magnets were too weak (others have noted this issue). As a result, if I put it in a rucksack, the lid would stay slightly ajar and debris could get in and damage the screen. Dell sent someone around to repair it by replacing the palm rest, which worked.
However, I later noticed that the repair had given me the trackpad issue described in this video! Dell sent someone to fix this issue by replacing the trackpad, however the repairman scratched the back cover while removing it. So another week later, another repair was scheduled to replace the back cover. This worked. A week later, I noticed the headphone jack did not work (no sound out).
That was the last straw. Dell offered a replacement, but I refused and opted for a refund as I simply don't trust that they can deliver a working laptop and at this price point I expect better. It didn't give me any confidence that the laptop would last. Looking at Apple and Lenovo now as they are supposed to be reliable.
Thanks for the awesome reviews btw Josh!
OMG...This is what i was waiting for. You are always a pleasure to watch.
You pleasure yourself while watching him?
Dell even made all-AMD Alienware desktops recently, so all hope is not lost. I hope we get some Renoir options, especially where Renoir is available with 8 cores in the "U" series for the 13".
Wobbly trackpad is still present in builds form December 2020. Fixing it by adding isolation tape between battery and trackpad helps.
damn... :(
The "Everyday and Coding" section is such a nice touch. Really appreciate it. Would love to see the Asus zephyrus g14 and/or HP Spectre x360 15' 2020 reviewed in such detail
I highly recommend you get a replacement, mine has no trackpad issue whatsoever. Best windows trackpad.
Hopefully the 17 inch doesn’t have the same issues.
Mine works great too. It's without exaggeration as good as my MacBook pro's
Mathew Moniz had the same issue with the trackpad
So then, what's going on with the trackpad, then ? Surely Dell is not placing two different kinds in these laptops ! This is either a physical click or a software (tap) function - so which is is (supposed) to be ? Has Dell commented on this anywhere ?
You guys are lucky, in my country there’s no such thing as return policy
You are the best doing laptops reviews! Very imparcial and honest about pros and cons. Can't wait till you review the XPS 17, specially thermals. I would like you to talk about the importance of thermal in the long term, talk about whether it might damage the motherboard or other components in the pc.
Good video Josh. I have experienced the same issue with the trackpad. At times it will have the "two clicks" defect and then at other times, it works as expected. An odd experience for sure.
Long waited for your review on this. Thanks ;)
Excellent video Josh - your use of graphics and markers that are legible, integrate and support your commentary are perfect. LinusTechTips and all other tech tubers should take note!
I just would like to praise the "issues" aspect of your reviews.
Notebooks these days easily lasts 5 years of confortable usage and can be critical to work/study routines, but most tech youtubers approach laptops as something that you buy a new one every year and have a closet full of spares in case of problems.
This is why the new MacBooks problems were outrageous. MacBooks were machines you can trust and that's really important for a "Pro" user . I easily pay more for a reliable machine even if the specs/design are not the best.
Bonus: I'm a programmer, so it's really cool benchmark of things like IDE launch and other developer applications.
When Ryzen comes to the XPS I'll buy
and QC issues sorted out, too.
Felt like honest and 'to the point' review. Glad that you shared lots of information within a 13 min time period. Thank you Josh!
Thanks Denny
Probably the best and most thorough review on this laptop. Great channel.
I can't think of something I want to know about a laptop that you didn't touch on this video, excellent work!
Good review. If I paid that much for a laptop, I'd expect everything to work flawlessly, including the touchpad.. I'd definitely send it back too.
Nowadays everyone can be a tech reviewer as they have little knowledge or interests in it, but you are a real tech reviewer. Rather than some reviewers saying “this trackpad is good, but as not good as apple’s”, you specify the difference and problems with the keyboards using about the same time. Nice job
Thank you for your honesty!
This is why I watch your reviews. :)
Received my XPS 9500 last week (i7, 32Gb Ram, 1Tb SSD). So far no issues with the track pad. This Laptop is simply fantastic to work with Adobe Premier Pro and honestly, I’m in love with it stunning display!
Interesting. What is going on with the trackpads for others, then ? Is Dell using two different trackpads in these units, or is something else going on ? I'd like to know before plunking down such a huge chunk of money on this machine.
Man, you are my colleague! The Javists! I'm your new subscriber now, thanks for the review! (and I usually never thanks for reviews)
Thank you for this video. I found it very valuable and it helped me make my purchase decision.
Glad I could help
as a person that has one, it's a really good laptop and can do literally everything, play games, edit 4k, fusion 360, and basic stuff for college. the computer does get excessively hot sometimes and the track pad stops working when it does so if you get it, look into buying a mouse and you won't have to worry about it.
That looks like a honest review ! I went for the Macbook 16 inch as i am not much into gaming and none of the laptop in the market can beat Macbook 16's Performance , Audio Quality , trackpad and the screen looks much better though it's not 4K, but having 4K in laptop is completely waste of money to view 4K content one needs to have minimum 40in display.
The XPS does have the Touch display, but again if you need touch display get an iPad. I believe laptops are not meant for the touch display unless the display section can be removed from the keyboard like some of the Microsoft Surface laptops. When you can use wireless mouse to get to any part of the screen with less effort , why would someone make effort to touch it !
Anyways , I would still recommend people to go for Macbook Pro 16in , There is Not much difference in the price plus you get MacOS + reliability and if someone still needs Windows then he can use Bootcamp.
Great video man, incredibly detailed and informative, keep up your amazing work.
Thanks Rohan. Hope you are doing well
Please review the base model. We need to know how good they are. We can't afford this
For the price of the xps base model get a Macbook Pro 13, more value
I just ordered a 15inch. I hope I don't regret it.
Just subbed, I can't believe I just found your channel. you literally go over all my OCD points when deciding on a laptop. god bless.
First time checking out the channel and I gotta say the video was amazing and quite detailed. Great work keep it up.
Hey Josh. Thanks for the excellent review. I love the way you work to emphasize the value of use case and user experience. Personally, I totally opted out of purchasing this unit as I found equivalent performance in HP laptops, which also come with a Numpad, a reasonably good if not equivalent screen with optional toggleable sure view privacy, better port selection, better ventilation for better thermal performance and their suite of intuitive HP apps like Sure Start and Sure Click. For me, sadly, Dell isn't on the table as an option until they can provide equivalents at the price to performance ratio that HP offers🤷🏾♂️. I've worked with 4 HP systems over the years, 1 Toshiba, and 1 Lenovo, and HP hasn't let me down yet. It's sad that the XPS's track pad is a dud, given how much effort went into optimizing its size🤦🏾♂️. I share your sentiment that that is simply a deal breaker for me.
Are you really happy with HPs quality?? I have to say I like the HP X360 line too, but as it was on my table I directly had to send it back. Even the second unit went back.
@@Dennis_le_Berger so far, I've been really lucky, I guess. I've never had to send a unit back for malfunction. I have a x360 Elitebook by HP and it's been the best system yet. Previously I've had 2 Probooks and a HP mini, and all of them worked as advertised and served me for 3 years and were still fully functional by the time I decided to sell them. Given how fastidious I am, I'm pretty happy that I've never had to return a unit. Perhaps my only issue is that since I'm such a heavy user, the batteries often need replacing every year and a half or so. But none of the hardware has ever actually failed me, so I've been quite satisfied with the quality assurance so far.
@@Dennis_le_Berger I'm so sorry you had a bad experience with the HP lineup. Perhaps those may have been bogus units. I'm a very sensitive and heavy user, and for 8+ years now I've not felt let down by a HP unit, even with reasonable wear and tear.
Your review is the first I've seen saying that Macbook Pro 16 has a better contrast than the new XPS 15. The same is valid for the cooling system and the heat. There is no USB port A but XPS comes with an adaptor which you have to pay extra USd 60 for the Macbook. Apart from that the review has good points.
Such a great Chap. Can't wait for him to review the 17 before I'll finally get it
The problem with the trackpad wobble/double-click on the Dell XPS 15 (9500) has emphatically NOT been fixed. Once Dell finally acknowledged the defect, they claimed they had resolved it and that as of June, it was no longer an issue on shipping units. That was a flat out lie. I ordered a Dell XPS 15 in October and it arrived with the same defective trackpad issue that Dell claimed to have resolved. I contacted them immediately. At first, they denied that it was in fact EVER an issue (never mind all the reports on the various review sites - you can go to Dell's own support site and find their acknowledgement of it along with their false claim that it is no longer a problem). I didn't budge and they agreed to replace the model for me (which took a whole month after I had waited a month for the initial unit). When the second unit arrived, it too had the EXACT SAME PROBLEM. I was disgusted and returned them both for a refund. Then in November, Dell had a sale on again and I thought (stupidly) "hmmm... they MUST have fixed the issue by now" so I ordered another unit on November 13. It finally showed up on December 23. I pulled it out of the box and guess what - IT HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. That's three units, all three with the same defective trackpad, all shipped long after Dell claimed to have fixed the problem. If quality control and user experience matter at all to you, do NOT BUY the Dell XPS 15. Dell's QC on this unit, not to mention their dishonesty in claiming to have fixed this problem and their UTTER CONTEMPT for their customers in continuing to ship defective units while advertising it as a premium product should not be rewarded with your hard-earned cash. Look elsewhere for your solution.
damn, that sucks! Guess I have to stick even longer with my 2015 MBP :(
Agreed... it is too bad. In every other way the nee Dell is perfectly spec’d. A shame that they’re letting quality control get in the way of what would otherwise be a great unit.
@@fellfromspace Do you have a recommendation for the XPS 15 alternative ?
@@airrwalker Hey. Depends on what you are looking to do. I am an artist and a photographer so that informs my needs. As a result, I was forced to bite the bullet and go MacBook Pro 16. Not a perfect fit for me as my desktop editing system (and my prefered OS) is a windows machine. Plus there is of course the fact that the Mac is more expensive. If I could have lived with the poor battery life then I might have been able to go with a Lenovo X1 Carbon or a Lenovo P1 (tests show that they only get 3.5 to 4.5 hours off of a charge and since I often work away from a power source that was a no go for me but might not be for you). I would much rather be working with a Windows machine but I can live with the Mac OS in order to get the hardware I need to edit large image files (wide gamut colour accurate screen, fast processor, 32 to 64 GB of RAM, 1 to 2 TB SSD, and solid battery life). If I wasn't concerned so much with image editing (which requires that wide gamut colour accurate display) then the choice would have been MUCH easier. I would have gone with the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 with the Ryzen CPU hands down. But there are other good options as well. Hope some of that helps a bit.
@@fellfromspace That helps a lot. I hope there are better options coming soon with Ryzen 5000 series
Hi Josh. Wonderful review, as always. I found your channel about a month or two ago, and I'm slightly gutted it took me that long. Best laptop reviewer on RUclips!!!!
Thank you!!
I have the XPS 9500 with no said touchpad issue. I've got the base FHD one though but have none of the issues Josh mentions.
You do a great job with your reviews, the feedback and data I need clearly presented without all the fancy nonsense other review videos are overloaded with 👍
The review we all wait for!
All hail Sir Josh!!!
You are awesome!
I have one for 2 weeks now. It is excellent! Keyboard, laptop, everything is awesome about it. I recommend it 1000%
how is it holding up if I may ask. Looking to get one
Hi. Thanks for the honest reviews. You are the only channel that I turned the notification on :)
SUCH A GREAT REVIEW! Subscribed! You've covered every important point that I look for in every review. Fan noise, coil whine, and everyday runtime speed. What laptop would you recommend for yourself?
Another reason why people should get the MBP 16" is for its higher gamut display. This is pretty important for designers/photographers/artists/people that need the better color coverage and accuracy, like me for an example (the trackpad and speakers are a nice bonus as well).
Love your reviews, awesome job, very informative.
For me you are one of the best reviewers in youtube.
Thank you so much
The long waited review, thanks Josh!
I have many different laptops where the screen briefly flickers or goes black when switching between battery and AC power, it’s less common on newer laptops but I wouldn’t fault a laptop for doing that.
Man what a great reviwer! This is what every review should look like! Keep doing this amazing work Josh!
I have the same spec XPS 15 arriving on Monday...will probably end up returning mine as well if the touch pad is the same as yours.
Hey Josh, love the asthetics and presentations of your review. Really looking forward to seeing more of your vids in the near future.
Thanks mate. I'm trying!
Great vid as usual. Tons of info packed in here
You’ve heard the other reviews - but here’s the one to actually listen. Amazing stuff!
Thanks josh , good review ..still unable to decide between the XPS 15 and the Mac 16 . Was wondering if Dell has addressed the concerns you have raised with the XPS and done something about it..
Yes, same. Still owning a 2015 Macbook Pro. I would like to jump to Windows, since Apple fucked up Cuda, OpenGL, 32bit, etc... but Dell's quality issues are nuts!
Very informative review. No nonsense whatsoever.
The display is better quality numbers are wrong. It's because of a blue light filter in the Dell screen that spyder is over correcting and counting the wrong number in the measurement.
Been waiting for this review to pull the trigger. Ordering today. I'm ordering the base i5, FHD model and upgrading the RAM to 32GB myself. That spec makes this laptop a pretty good value. I don't game, only do occasional light video production, and am mostly just running a bunch of Chrome tabs for work. Will be replacing a 2015 XPS 13.
Thanks for the review and pointing out the issues! Hope mine shows up with few issues..
Do update us
12:31 "yes smash it". People teasing you about using the word smash? I guess it'd be like saying "root that like button" in Australia lol
Hey Josh@2:21 it's not color accuracy but color gamut. Gamut is the range of color a display can produce while accuracy is how close it is to the intended color. Accuracy is measured in delta[∆].
Yes you are right. I keep stuffing that up. Someone mentioned that in the last video. I'll fix in the next
@@JustJoshTech thanks for your reply man. It's great to see reviewers who actually care about the viewers. Great work.
Hey man just discovered your channel and wanted to say that you’re videos are quite amazing and extremely thorough! I was wondering if you could please do a review on the hp Spectre 15 2020 model? I haven’t seen any reviews with your level of expertise online anywhere. Keep up the good content my man!!
I think you've got the blue-light filter mode on. Otherwise the 4K screen should measure at 100% Adobe RGB.
Is that a mode you can turn on/off? I thought it was just part of the screen. Does seem weird that the color accuracy results he got were so far off from their advertised values though.
Thanks for pointing out these issues, Josh. I was going to upgrade from my old XPS but am now holding myself back till they fix some of them.
The trackpad issue has been resolved. These videos are OK but Josh harps on about Macs a little too much. The fact the XPS is cheaper in orders of magnitude + you can upgrade SSD (there are 2 SSD slots) and upgrade RAM (there’s a video on RUclips where a guy adds 64gb to his base 9500) which Josh flashes up for about 1 second makes the XPS the winner for me. My 2012 MBP Retina is about to get replaced! :) I’ve been trapped in the Apple ecosystem for too long.
After Dave and Techtablets ... You are my 3rd fav... Subscribed
Thank you!!
Great review, concise and informative, keep up the good work!
No usb type-A could be make or break for some people. Which is why you probably should've mentioned that the laptop does come with a dongle that provides a single usb type-A port along with an HDMI port in the box (not ideal, I know.. but hey, it's included).
Great review as usual...You are definitely one of the top Laptop reviewers on RUclips...Keep up the great work.
I have a question for you Josh.
I saw that you undervolted the Lenovo Ideapad 5 15 with the Ryzen 4500U in one of your videos and it resulted in much better performance.
And since my Ideapad 5 15 with the Ryzen 4500U will arrive in about one week I´d love to know how I can undervolt my CPU and if it is even worth doing it.
Great video as always! Love how you are onehundred percent honest and talk about the little details. :)
These questions have been bugging me for a while.
1. How long the 4k touch display is supposed to last w/o any issues in compare to the 1080p FHD display?
2. How much is the performance gap between i7 10750H 6-cores and i7 10875H 8-cores?
3. Would it be an overkill to put 2x16 GB Ram (considering all other factors and limitations) or 2x8GB Ram would be the optimal choice?
4. I believe Dell's R&D did their homework to put this 4 GB 1650 Ti in there. However, can we expect to see at least a 6GB 1660 Ti in a near future refresh of this laptop?
Thanks.
Awesome revieuws Mister. Thanks so much! Dont forget to breath now and than. 😉
Honestly the best review i have seen by far! I have seen all the top reviews like dave lee. But this is the best
Thanks mate!
Another XPS that's great on paper but riddled with quality control issues.
Hahaha all of them seem to be it's crazy, i'd never buy one hell no
Exactly.
The swelling battery problem is ridiculous they had this since gen 1 xps 15 and still hasn't been fixed
Mine has no issues. Sucks to be him
Exactly. Buy a Surface product, better quality control.
I just received my XPS 15 and this computer is stunning, the trackpad is as solid as can be.
Any issues at all?
@@unnderneath None, the computer is hands down the best I have ever used. Check my channel, the last 5 videos have all been edited with the Dell, it renders videos lighting quick.
You are great !
Thank you so much.
I smashed the subscribe button :D When I want to watch quality reviews, I always check this channel first.
Thanks!!
Nice job. I like how you stay on topic and cite both pros and cons, and don't waste a lot of time up front with fancy splash sequences and pointless blathering :) One thing I wish you would have discussed is stylus and touch screen use. I use my Surface Pro for photo editing, etc, and rely a lot on windows ink and the stylus. Do those things work as expected on the Dell??
thanks perfect review Josh. Subbed ofc
The XPS 15 2020 is a great device. I would say for the trackpad, there is a way to tighten the loose track pad yourself. Also, the 45watt charger from the XPS might not work but then you talked about how the 96watt charged from the MacBook pro 16" would change it... Maybe try the 61watt MacBook pro 13" charger instead... You went from one extreme when it comes to charger sizes to the other and in a different brand when there are chargers that uses different wattage amounts between the two... Just a thought. It's also Smaller than the 96watt bring so the 61watt would be more portable... But yeah. I would try those two things and see if they work. Good review though.
Hi Josh, really enjoy your thorough, to-the-point, and polished videos. Watching more and more. As an architect currently in the market for a mobile workstation i appreciate the range you cover here. IF you end up reviewing the highest end XPS 17" model and/or even one of the high end Precision 17" models I was wondering if you can speak to the long term durability / reliability of the machines. Also, many in my industry argue the overall build quality in Apple machines (say, comparable maxed out MacBook pro 16") is just better and holds up performance/ battery over time. Would love to hear your thoughts comparing these rival machines. Thanks for all you time and input keep up the content!
After what I've experienced in the XPS 15 my early lean is to go for Apple for longevity but.... my XPS 9370 is still going very strong
And I may get XPS 17 in. I'm debating it now
Thank you for the response and thank you for the info!
I have never seen such a concise and informational review before. I am not exaggerating.
I am looking for a laptop for my upcoming studies and with my girlfriend having her MacBook Pro 16 which I use quite a lot I feel like I have to find something to match that brilliant user experience. As I dislike MacOS this definitely seems like the contender.
I do love my big screens though, are there any plans for you to review the XPS 17? Big thanks for the review.
Finally a review that covers the trackpad issue!
For those interested in a MacBook Pro 16 but can’t afford to pay full price, don’t forget to frequent Best Buy’s open box and Apple’s refurbished sections. Dell has refurbished laptops through their outlet store as well. You’ll just have to wait for the XPS 15 & 17 to be returned to become available.
well god damn, that was a great review. subscribed.
your colour accuracy is wrong, you've probably got the blue light reuction setting on. Should be 100% and better than the mac's 90%
Do you know where that setting is? I have been looking for it
Again, very good and helpful!! Thanks!
Great job for the video ! Hope you will try the XPS 17. Dell made a good job with this one and I like the fact that parts are replaceable. Upgrades on Apple are impossible, that’s why I will someday moving away and going to dell (using Linux and FreeBSD then)
Josh can you please have a look at the new HP Envy 15 2020? It seems perfect on paper; 8 core i9, RTX2060 MQ, vapor chamber cooling, OLED, all aluminium chassis, small bezels, ~80Wh battery, two NVME slots, upgradable ram, 2kg, and reasonable price. Top spec is $2900 USD with 2TB nvme. Patiently waiting to get one in AUS when they release it. Got a Surface Book 3 as an upgrade to my SB2 but want to try a 8 core system as well to compare performance. Have had terrible experience with Dell's garbage quality control and don't like the black dirt prone finish so no way i would buy the XPS. HP seems like a perfect machine
Hey Josh... Got mine XPS17 today. I have plenty issues:
1. My trackpad is one of the bad (loose) ones. 30% of the time the left click doesn't work as well.
2. My screen is changing lightning randomly when changing from one window to another. Maybe it is something u can turn of. I don't know yet.
3. The most disappointing: My latency mon results are horrible (after seconds are get 2 - 18 ms latency with different drivers). Same sh** as with the recently tested Dell Inspiron 15. I dont't understand why all reviewers at youtube doesn't have any issue. My first thought was the Kioxia SSD is causing it because I have never heard this brand before. But then I saw u have the same.
4. When power adapter is plugged in my speakers are humming almost all the time.
I try to get a second one and hopefully this has none of these issues. But nevertheless it is very sad that Dell is shipping such buggy hardware for a price point of 3.000 €. This is not premium at all.
You mentioned that you undervolted but undervolting is locked. Whatever you do in Throttlestop or XTU doesn't actually do anything.
