I think a lot of Gospel artists would probably say no. Especially the last few years bc the BET show has not been promoting the best in Black culture. It’s pushing the agenda to sexualize our women and make our young people think this is the way you present yourself. I definitely wouldn’t expect this show to push Christianity.
Yes, you’re so right! There’s definitely an agenda at work. I just feel like the crowd expects the same ol same ol from the gospel/christian category & therefore sees it as nothing worthy of change, just a “feel good” message/performance that doesn’t call for repentance.
Kirt Franklin does nothing at all. All he does is surround himself with other musicians and the musicians do all of the music and then every once in a while he just talk in the middle of the songs that the other musicians are doing all of the music. He can't sing at all. It's strange that people would say that being totally untalented as a musician is great. Bottom line he is absolutely no musician as all can see.
Understood! I will say you can’t discount the number of hits he’s produced, written/created. I do believe he has an ear for music which is still a type of artistry, HOWEVER, I feel like BET is playing it safe with him as a returnee.
