The first one is Mulan as Ping. Ping is the name created to pass off as a guy. Mushu and Mulan actually go through a battle when Shang asks Mulan who he is. First it is Ling but there was another dude in the army name ling. Then it was Achew and Mushu makes the joke of "bless you." Then it goes to Mushu. Mulan then settles on Ping. But I am into Chinese Dramas and a lot of the Historical Fiction dramas do adopt the girls passing off guys story of Mulan. You see them replicate it by having a certain hair style that is different than girls and they also dress differently. And the Villian is Shan Yu.
Just so you guys know the new Mulan movie will be very different than the animated movie. First there will be no Mushu. The bad guy will be different. In the animated version there was no witch but there will be one in the live action version. Mulan was also shown to be an only child in the cartoon but will have sisters in the new movie, some characters will be dropped while others will be combined or divided in to multiple characters , no singing/songs. Etc
