Those are jewellery pliers, one for cutting wire, one for clamping as she said.
Those “clamp beads” are called “crimps”.

Woww, such an awesome idea. That sun catcher looks beautiful, thanks for the great inspiration! I plan on making a ton of these with differently sized crystals and hanging them at different lengths in front of all my windows to create a room full of rainbows when the sun is shining through (I already have some really big and elaborate ones!)... along with the winter-themed room that I really want to create now, hahah. I really love that room it looks so amazing, you've given me such good ideas! How fun, I can't wait to realize this whole thing! I'm just getting into crafts like these, so I'm definitely subscribed.
