He did a really good job explaining step-by-step how you did this and after watching several videos I have for one. Definitely appreciate that and found it extremely helpful when that is done.
My mum’s table is a hole slot for iPad and I use that method of slice and fold it into the hole since ours has a plastic cover that covers that fold area
@@sambarrassed ...🌱🪴🌷thank you for your reply; OMG! $1.50 Dollar Store marble grey peel and stick installed; wasn’t easy, however, looks totally amazing; it fooled my Sister that’s how real it looks.
Sure, here is what I did: - once I got to the top part of the hooks I peeled a little more contact paper-enough to cover the hook parts-and let it hover *without sticking it down yet* - I cut a “+” shape in the center of each hook area and slowly increased the size of the cut while cutting out pieces I didn’t need until the hole was big enough for the hooks (similar to how I cut the hole for the sink) - I slowly used the card to stick & smoothen the contact paper in the space between the hooks since it should be flat there and as you do this the hooks will start to move through the contact paper holes (you may need to cut more pieces out as necessary) until the hooks are fully through then flatten the contact paper around it from each side Note: if your hooks are like mine the attachment part will hide if you cut a little too much of a hole so it doesn’t have to be perfect
thank you! It holds up pretty well, it’s very easy to wipe-the only thing is I have to be more cautious to wipe water droplets or splashes between the sink & the counter
@@sambarrassed Thanks so much for the feedback. Yes I was wondering about water getting into the cracks. I was thinking that maybe you can put clear silicone (tube from homedepot) around the sink so that it seals that area then you can peel that off when time to remove
Yeah! I had the same idea with the marbled contact paper and turning the brownish cabinets grey. I was thinking to myself what a chore it will be to strip the old varnish and sand them down and then gey wash them. Then I see you did it with grey wood contact paper!! Great idea, will save me alot of trouble. Thank-You!! I found the marble contact paper at Dollar Tree. Where did you find the grey wood paper? Love it!
Wow, this turned out so beautiful! If I didn’t know any better, I would’ve never known that there was an ugly blue countertop underneath that! I was thinking, since your backsplash is kind of squarish, could you have used those self adhesive tiles along the backsplash as well?
Thanks, I think it made the biggest difference in the bathroom! And it’s Tempaper Marrakesh Peel and Stick Wallpaper in the Gray(/Bronze) option and it’s available from many places: Overstock, Wayfair, Amazon, Target, etc I just found one with the best price at the time
I ended up getting a plumber to help me replace the faucet, mirrors, and work on this project. It's gonna cost me a little but I feel like imma messed this up. I'm super clumsy lol
Yeah! It’s Tempaper Marrakesh Peel and Stick Wallpaper in the Gray(/Bronze) option and it’s available on: Overstock, Wayfair, Amazon, Target, etc I just found one with the best price at the time
When using contact paper or wallpaper you NEVER NEVER cut the paper at the edge of the countertop when you do this you leave 2 raw edges exposed to traffic (bellys rubbing on it while standing etc) this causes the paper to start rolling up. ALWAYS WRAP FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE COUNTERTOP LIP UP TO THE COUNTERTOP that way your seam is will be in a more secure area. Another thing that will help protect that seam is a LIGHT spray of clear sealer when the job is complete.
I’m not sure how it’ll affect the wood since I don’t plan to remove it soon but it should peel off easily, I’m guessing if it’s on for a really long time it might have a little bit of residue than can be wiped away if anything
Is the drawer on the wooden cabinet part? If you’re able to easily remove/pull out the drawer and do the frame part and then the drawer front I think that could work
Looks great. Had to pause it to see the end result because you flashed it so fast. I am looking for cheap easy ideas to redo my bathroom. This looks like something I might want to try.
I tried this just now, how the heck to you wrap the corners of the cupboards so you can't see the fold??? its like wrapping a tight xmas gift w/ perfect corners
Oops didn’t realize it said cupboards the first time; this is the video I watched for that ruclips.net/video/aKgwW00J1fY/видео.html (I kind of eyeballed it at a diagonal and made sure that wouldn’t be a gap before cutting into it)
Whenever I use the sink, if any water splashes a little it just pools there instead of getting under like sitting between the edge so I try to wipe it soon to avoid finding out what could happen if left a long time
The contact paper should be renter friendly if you only put it on countertops! Make sure to remove it well (or maybe the landlord will prefer to keep it)
I ordered 2 so I believe 1 roll was enough for that size, but when I redid the cutout I think I opened another one. So I’d recommend getting enough and maybe an extra in case anything happens, you won’t have to wait for another roll
Just saw this, for the most part it’s holding up well! The parts where it isn’t is where I dropped sharp metal objects that accidentally poked it and it left tiny holes 🫢 And a cosmetic issue of missing design where some acetone was spilled.
@@adinaklass8504 it’s thin but if your wood is similar to how mine was it will cover well, I showed a stick on test somewhere in the video. and yes it’s available on amazon

At the *6:33* mark can u explain how u went over the toilet paper hooks.
Sure, here is what I did:
- once I got to the top part of the hooks I peeled a little more contact paper-enough to cover the hook parts-and let it hover *without sticking it down yet*
- I cut a “+” shape in the center of each hook area and slowly increased the size of the cut while cutting out pieces I didn’t need until the hole was big enough for the hooks (similar to how I cut the hole for the sink)
- I slowly used the card to stick & smoothen the contact paper in the space between the hooks since it should be flat there and as you do this the hooks will start to move through the contact paper holes (you may need to cut more pieces out as necessary) until the hooks are fully through then flatten the contact paper around it from each side
Note: if your hooks are like mine the attachment part will hide if you cut a little too much of a hole so it doesn’t have to be perfect
