@@MrMattyPlays Dude seriously though. I already own a beast PC for work but I find myself putting 2-3 times more playtime in on Switch ports anyway lol.
Matty brings up the good point of if putting a major title the size and scope of "The Witcher 3" on The Switch is possible... Perhaps other large titles like GTA, and even RDR2 could possibly put on The Switch, too? Maybe even Live Service games like The Division 2, and Destiny 2? I wouldn't mind double, or even triple dipping if I could play some of these games on the go, or in bed...
Is this your first time getting The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt? The same exact thank-you paper, stickers, compendium, etc., came with the original launch of the game as well. Still, it's nice of them to provide the goods regardless.
This game runs incredibly well considering the size of game and console it’s running on and I’m having a lot of fun. I also have this on PS4 Pro but you get over the downgrades very quickly
Kris Q I have it on the Xbox one and I agree, playing Witcher portable is the best thing ever and the downgrade is not game breaking I didn’t mind it at all! It looked better than I expected how it was gonna look
I bought the GOTY edition 2 or 3 years ago on Xbox for £20. I got 500+ hours of entertainment from it. With 3-4 full story play throughs as well as beating the excellent DLCs every time. It was THE best game I have ever played. Each of the DLCs are larger than the majority of stand alone games. Blood and wine in particular could just be the Witcher 4. I bought the switch port day 1. With 500+ hours already played for £20 I already felt like CDPR had given me the best deal of all time before and I felt I owed them this. Also I have about 2-3 hours a day where I am just commuting, or on a break at work where I get to play games or watch Netflix. The Witcher 3 on switch will have me looking forward to my commutes for months.
Yeah I got the same stickers and I think the same exact same thank you letter with an original ps4 version. Still cool that they are giving switch owners the same treatment.
Depending on region you get different stuff, I got 7 postcards along with map, compendium book and stickers but some of my friend didn't get the postcard
Before my sister moved away, she wanted to play Witcher 3 on my Xbox. Problem was I was having some sign-in issues and I couldn't fix 'em right away so she didn't get the chance before she left. Last time I saw her, I heard W3 had come to Switch and since she had one, I kept telling her about it. I don't know if she ever did buy it but I hope she did. I just know she'll like it.
I've never played the witcher before and own a ps4, xbox one and a switch (and I'm building a pc by the end of the year) but for some reason the switch has me more enticed to buy it than I have been in the past due to the handheld play. Something about that I really like. So idk I might buy it for switch we'll see
I have this game on PS4 and I've still never touched it lol, I just have too many games I want to play and my backlog is ridiculous :( I just finished Fire Emblem Three Houses yesterday, clocked in 298 hours when all was said and done. Sad thing is I still don't feel satisfied and I'm very tempted to jump back in but I'm going to force myself to play other games... Links Awakening and AI the Somnium Files are calling my name. I'll play Witcher 3 eventually... I just don't know when.
Ya, these guys can’t get any better. I just recently got a PC, and decided that I wanted to use their launcher, GOG. For the whole no DRM thing. I didn’t know that when you make an account on GOG, they give you some deals for the first 48 hours. Got the complete edition for $25 again. And it came with a buuuuunch of extra things. The soundtracks, wallpapers, avatars, compendium, etc. So cool.
I traded in my old Switch for the newer version with the better battery so I can play this bad boy on the go without fears of my console dying in an hour lul Edit: Of course I got the physical version as well
I sold my old Switch for the Grey Switch Lite. I play exclusively handheld so the Switch Lite was better for me. That is why I am buying Witcher 3 yet again. It's going to be a busy travelling period for me in a couple weeks so having this game with me will be a huge lifesaver. This port looks so goddamn impressive for handheld gaming.
Have you had any drift with your grey lite yet? I got minor drift on mine after four days of moderate play. It's not too bad, and it comes and goes, but I'll definitely keep an eye on it over the 30 days I can return it as faulty. (Aside from that, I love it!)
Matty, I'm not sure if you know but the original physical copies of the the game for PS4 and Xbox One back in 2015 also came with all of the extra items (poster, book, soundtrack, tank you, etc). So it isn't exclusive to the switch, but it is still great that they added it.
This is why i try to buy physical releases as often as I can. It is awesome for devs to give a letter to the potential player and buyer of the game. It's awesome that a 32 GB game can fit inside a switch card. Sub earned by the way. This game isn't getting enough coverage for the switch.
I brought three copies for Christmas gifts to support project red bc of the amazing job they have done and the extra gift that come with the physical copy.
For a second, when I found this on my feed, I thought this was a PJW video due to the title. On a side note: I am so damn tempted to get a switch just for this and Doom now. Fuck you, CDPR.... you keep taking my money and making me want to give you more, and then to hug you, you glorious bastards!

I pretty much play my switch in portable mode only, I have the witcher 3 on pc without the DLC but my PC is too big for me to bring to college. I play my switch in bed and on trips back home to see my family. I definitely want Witcher 3 on the switch. if only I had the cash for it.
I'm getting this for Switch cus as a father of 2 and a husband, I can't game like I used to. I got a bomb PC and an Xbox One and 99% of all my gaming has been taken over by the Switch, the convenience of handheld as a father makes the Switch an HD Gameboy Advance and I've owned Skyrim on every platform but was only ever able to beat it on Switch and I expect the same thing for Witcher 3.
A little comment about you talking about not buying it to play it docked if you already own it on PS4 or... (around the 4m30 mark) Trust me if I say that changes A LOT when you have a wife, 2 kids and ONE tv. :-) I already had this on PS4 and I bought it again to escape the "can I play this", "can I watch this" thingy and it's a great port. And why not play it twice right, it's an awesome game.
I got this game on Switch despite already having the PC version, and I play it Docked on my 4KTV. You mentioned there are black borders around the screen but I don't see it, nor do I think the image is stretched. It runs at 720p but the downgrade in visuals did not bother me one bit. Overall I spent more hours on the Switch version than I did on PC, and that's Docked alone.
I will pick this up to support the game and CD Project Red, i love the Witcher series. Playing one of my favorite games as i am out on my real life adventures is a great gift i can't say no to. It will look great on display with my other editions of the game.
You should really give the legal stuff in the cover a good read. They actually go on to say that doing let's play on RUclips and even monetizing the videos is just fine with them. Just one more reason to support this company. In the days of Electronic Arts and Activision this is a breath of fresh air
Even cheaper to get it from GOG if you own a PC, GOG is owned by CDPR, in case you don't know, is a great PC platform and has amazing things coming. Will definitely get The Witcher III on Switch at some point later, once is on sale.
Loved this. I’ve played the game to completion on my PS4 when it released and was excited about playing it on a portable system. Initially I was a bit skeptic about the graphics and performance but pre ordered anyway to show my support. I’m fine with the downgrade, and it looks great handheld.
In 2019 I buy around 16 switch games and I never regret buying few of them including The Witcher III Wild Hunt Complete Edition for the Nintendo Switch
It's just those little things CD Red do, that make them a wonderful company, and one of the last beacons in a sea of crap. EA, Ubisoft, Activision Blizzard, Bethesda, especially Blizzard after their money over ethics. I'm hyped for cyberpunk 2077, and I'm hoping it's going to be amazing......It's going to be amazing. And The witcher series is fantastic, and with 3 they really outdid themselves. 16 pieces of DLC for free, every other company would have Nickle and Dimed you all the way. And the two pieces of DLC they do charge you for, believe me they are very much worth it. Blood and wine being around half the size of the base game, with tons more stuff to do.
Matty, the original physical versions of the game on xbone and ps4 had the thank you letter and other goodies aswell. Its nothing new but its still awesome
i'm playing it now on my switch in docked mode, and it's fine, you are being way to critical , it runs and looks good , enjoying it a lot, and yes i also have a Xbox X & Ps5,
I remember reading what I think it was a Witcher short story. A princess or girl gets kidnapped by a monster and the protagonist rescues her. I enjoyed it. Do I have to play the previous Witcher games to enjoy/understand the third?
john wourden if you read at the very least the last wish short story compilation then you will appreciate the references in the game even more. I would assume same goes for the games but should you not want to worry about events from the 2nd game then you can simulate it if you don't want to make decisions about certain events that would affect some characters appearing/not appearing in 3.
I just about exclusively play the switch handheld. Kinda wish I waited for the switch lite to come out. I have this game for PS4Pro but I'm tempted to double dip to play this sitting cozy in bed and on holiday plane trips
I have an xbox one x and I do also own this on my Switch . I dont have any issue with it because of the visuals . doesnt bother me. Doesn't make me say ... I dont want to play this. No it doesnt look as good as my one x but it doesnt look bad either .
Respect to the devs for getting the game running on the Switch's struggling hardware. Goes to show how much can be achieved when a console os selling well.
Obviously TV only gamers who also own other consoles should buy it somewhere else. I don’t think anyone is trying to say TV only gamers who own other consoles should buy the Switch version. Switch multiplats are for *1* people who only own Switch, *2* people who value hybrid portable + console play over graphics, *3* those who want to double dip and keep Switch version for handheld with other versions for TV.
I have actually bought the Witcher 3, 3 separate times. Once on ps4 at launch then I switched to Xbox because fallout 4 mods, and I realized how lame console mods are, so I had to buy t Witcher again, then I bought the complete edition because I couldn’t find my physical copy. I love this game so much it really was worth every penny
You don’t get all the gear that you on the pc or ps4,5, Xbox. The gear that Yennifer gives you and I haven’t been able to get The Devil s pit quest. But I love the switch
I have it on ps4 without dlcs. Still haven't beaten it yet. Really thinking about picking it up on switch bc I'm guessing dlcs alone are $30 maybe. Plus it's always fun to play on the go and I feel theres always something to do in the open world. I need opinions here 👇👇👇
With divinity original sin 2 on switch offering cross save with Pc I'm disappointed this game doesn't have the feature. Would be awesome if all switch ports were compatible with Pc cloud saves it would make the switch version an extension to play on the go
i was wondering if the switch version would still have the bonus standard edition stuff. great to know. i really could have watched other unboxings but i didnt. getting this game soon.
Docked isn't really what you're buying this for and if you want that experience you're better off playing on a different platform. That said of you don't have another platform this version is good enough docked. The real beauty in this version of the game is Handheld mode! The handheld mode is excellent an while it isn't the prettiest or smoothest experience it's The Witcher 3 portable and the game holds up. Overall this is an amazing port and I look forward to other AAA game ports like The Outer Worlds! Only thing I wish is that this game had a save transfer feature like Divinity original sin 2.
@@25_jean_dark_52 I never said it wasn't. I just said if you can play it somewhere else you should because it's inferior to every other version via docked mode. If your looking for a handheld experience then this version is perfect, that's why I picked up myself...I thought it would be an amazing game to have on the go and it is.
I don't understand at all the purpose of the witcher 3 on switch. The portability of the switch is good for casual gameplay based games like mario or zelda, but a game thats very story heavy and is best when immersed, that also relies heavily on visuals? seems like a bad match. I understand why it gets a pass graphically, but saying it looks "ok" is a stretch. It looks plain horrible, though I understand people are just happy it even came to the switch. I can't imagine playing this game on a public bus or train and enjoying it. Seems like a gimmick buy for the novelty of "Woah!!! big game that's portable that i'll never feel like playing when I'm traveling!" I also can't imagine many people who haven't played the game picking up the game on switch. People who prefer the switch as a console prefer a different type of game, casual gameplay focused games, the type nintendo makes. Though theres gonna be a few who first experience the game on switch. i guess its there for those who want it, so you cant be mad.
honestly main reason is people who commute long distances or do not get to be home alot, my brother is an emt and has a long commute so only gets to game handheld so this is perfect。On graphics who really cares if a game is great most people who love games remember the classics yes they look crap by todays standards but they are still loved hell OG Mario's whole game is smaller than the file for Geralts face! Pretty does not mean good (looking at you Anthem!)
Most Nintendo fans are not casuals, that's why games like DQ11, Bayonetta, Xeno2 are successful. an RPG is pretty on-par of what a Switch owner might want to buy.
@@NaikoArt those are jrpgs, completely different game design philosophy. And I think you have to keep in mind we are in a bubble. Most switch owners on matty's channel would play those games, but I know many switches owners and majority stick to the big name Nintendo games.
@@bonseezI mean, i do agree that casuals are a big part of any company fanbase, theres a lot of Switchs out there, and theres an audience for AAAs games, DOOM sold kinda good. my point was, those games are aimed to hardcore gamers, and if Nintendo fans only were casual those wouldnt sell.
you shoulda taken this moment to mention supporting CDPR on their GOG Galaxy. Don’t want people getting their games on the wrong launcher. Witcher3 GOTY is also on sale for $15 on GOG atm.
Such a fantastic game, but after having played it on PC with fantastic graphics and framerate, I don't think I could stand to see it like this, technological marvel that it may be.

They actually have some setting to adjust the border and I be honest, I am playing it on dock 50 % of the time as I'm on holiday some what and I'm telling you, its amazing, of course if you try it on ps4, it's better, but to be honest, I am still amaze what am I seing on switch...BTW it is downgraded BECAUSE IT IS RUNNING AT 60 FPS... WHEN IT CAME OUT 8 DON'T REMEMBER IT RUNNING 60 FPS ON ANY CONSOLE AND ON PC?, U NEED TO SPEND KEJELION

The Traveler I purchased it digitally my first time around! Wasn’t aware this was in the original packaging from back then.
@@MrMattyPlays Ah, makes sense. Well... there you go. Enjoy *The Switcher 3* then.
I seem to enjoy it more on the switch handheld. Was good on my xbox but its impressive on the toilet
Matty, all that stuff in the physical package was also in the package when the game originally released on PS4 and Xbone...
Yeah I got the same stickers and I think the same exact same thank you letter with an original ps4 version. Still cool that they are giving switch owners the same treatment.
Matt Smith soundtrack’s missing though.
You're saying the ps4 Xbone versions of this game were originally released... With all the expansion passes already included?
@@Maesterful Yeah, and there's actually two versions Complete edition and Goty edition
Depending on region you get different stuff, I got 7 postcards along with map, compendium book and stickers but some of my friend didn't get the postcard
I’m a major Witcher 3 fan. I bought it on ps4, Xbox one, and pc. It’s awesome that the game works on the switch
So idk I might buy it for switch we'll see
I would also reccomend it on PC considering that it is on sale a lot and looks soooooo much better than the ps4 and xbox.
So cool.
I traded in my old Switch for the newer version with the better battery so I can play this bad boy on the go without fears of my console dying in an hour lul
Edit: Of course I got the physical version as well
how did you trade it in
@@deni6943 Gamestop; Power to Corporation
I did the same thing at gamestop
Same here!
I play it on an original switch and the battery lasts for over 3 hours before it gets around 20%
Yes it is.🙂
Have you had any drift with your grey lite yet?
I used to love metal gear solids old handbooks, back on the ps2!
For a second, when I found this on my feed, I thought this was a PJW video due to the title. On a side note: I am so damn tempted to get a switch just for this and Doom now. Fuck you, CDPR.... you keep taking my money and making me want to give you more, and then to hug you, you glorious bastards!
I remember being impressed by all those same items including the thank you note at launch on ps4
For those from the future, game looks quite better since a 2020/21 update, specially on Handheld mode
Who else is hyped for The Outer Worlds?

Bela Lugosi
Keeping the hype to a minimum but very interested in playing a full "dumb" option playthrough once I have finished a serious run.

Can you share the template of your thumbnail face? That needs to be memed
Entrr_Username LOL I’m going to check my computer and I’ll see if I still have the file saved
Idk why... but, his face.... it’s like he said “say my name girl”, and she whispers “Gaaaaaaaaaaaaryyyyyyyy”
I’d rather play it on the Switch, rather than the PS4/XBOX ONE.
I will pick this up to support the game and CD Project Red, i love the Witcher series. Playing one of my favorite games as i am out on my real life adventures is a great gift i can't say no to. It will look great on display with my other editions of the game.
YES!
A MAP!
THE PHYSICAL GAME WORLD MAPS ARE BACK!
I think I still have the one from Oblivion around here somewhere.
Great video Matty. I think you just sold me on it so thanks dude.
Witcher 3 will satisfy my RPG itch until Outer Worlds comes out on Switch.
Also I got it physical on Amazon at 48.83
Krumpulous yeah I got it on Amazon for $49.99. $10 cheaper than retail. I was happy.
Its nothing new but its still awesome
i'm playing it now on my switch in docked mode, and it's fine, you are being way to critical , it runs and looks good , enjoying it a lot, and yes i also have a Xbox X & Ps5,
that physical version is so good tho, im really tempted to get it for portable mode, since i have a PC, i dont care about docked.
When it’s on sale, yes. Yes all day.
I got it because I wanted to support CDPR and because I don't want to play while taking a dump, on my work trips, on school, etc
Matty over here looking like a singer from a 90s alternative rock band.
I fucking love CDPR, I'm still playing blood and wine but everything I've completed has just been magical and a high bar for writing in a video game.
Great video Matty! Keep doing the Lord's work 👍
I would buy the game new on ps 4 again because of how good the game is and how cd projekt red is
Buy the game twice on the same console? Are you serious lol
I just about exclusively play the switch handheld. Kinda wish I waited for the switch lite to come out.
I have this game for PS4Pro but I'm tempted to double dip to play this sitting cozy in bed and on holiday plane trips
That is such nice packaging! It's been so long since I even got a manual in a game case.
I have an xbox one x and I do also own this on my Switch . I dont have any issue with it because of the visuals . doesnt bother me. Doesn't make me say ... I dont want to play this. No it doesnt look as good as my one x but it doesnt look bad either .
Speaking of the complete edition always going on sale, it's currently £14 on the UK playstation store
Witch would you buy in the switch if you had to choose one Skyrim or Witcher 3
Is your only console s switch? If yes, buy the game otherwise by it on another one of your console or pc.
FlyJonat or if you want to play Witcher on the go
Respect to the devs for getting the game running on the Switch's struggling hardware. Goes to show how much can be achieved when a console os selling well.
Obviously TV only gamers who also own other consoles should buy it somewhere else. I don’t think anyone is trying to say TV only gamers who own other consoles should buy the Switch version. Switch multiplats are for *1* people who only own Switch, *2* people who value hybrid portable + console play over graphics, *3* those who want to double dip and keep Switch version for handheld with other versions for TV.
which would u prefer skyrim or witcher for switch?
That background flicker is crazy, must be a pretty low resolution
540p isnt low resolution /s
@@MagiofAsura for the switch it isnt but for everything else is is incredibly low.
if you are a collector... yes i would buy this game!! just to collect it... and go back to ps4 or pc to play it again.
I need opinions here

All that stuff on the physical version was there in the launch version (on PS4, at least).
You update the game? Is a patch that improve a lot the game and frames
This game is so good on handheld. Even though I've played and beaten this game twice, I am loving it!
I HOPE THEY RELEASE SWITCH VERSION OF BATMAN ARKHAM TRILOGY CROSS FINGERS
With divinity original sin 2 on switch offering cross save with Pc I'm disappointed this game doesn't have the feature. Would be awesome if all switch ports were compatible with Pc cloud saves it would make the switch version an extension to play on the go
I am happy for switch users. It’s a great game. I didn’t think it was possible. Happy to be wrong.
Thanks Matty
Yes.
i was wondering if the switch version would still have the bonus standard edition stuff. great to know. i really could have watched other unboxings but i didnt. getting this game soon.
I'm buying the Switch version for when I poop
Docked isn't really what you're buying this for and if you want that experience you're better off playing on a different platform. That said of you don't have another platform this version is good enough docked. The real beauty in this version of the game is Handheld mode! The handheld mode is excellent an while it isn't the prettiest or smoothest experience it's The Witcher 3 portable and the game holds up. Overall this is an amazing port and I look forward to other AAA game ports like The Outer Worlds! Only thing I wish is that this game had a save transfer feature like Divinity original sin 2.
Austin ! It’s still a competent version if you’re playing docked mode
Austin ! Agreed
I have finished The Witcher 3 on both PS4 and Xbox One and I am tempted to buy this one just to show my support for CDPR. Is that stange?
I’ve played before on PS4 and got halfway through the story but I’m considering picking it up for the switch where I can chip away at it anywhere
Black borders around the screen? My game was full screen even before updating it
Such a fantastic game, but after having played it on PC with fantastic graphics and framerate, I don't think I could stand to see it like this, technological marvel that it may be.
i got it !and never played it ,for me i can recommend it! but i have never played it so ...
what im trying to say is , i just picked it up and did the 1 hour download , then turned it on and played it for a hour . My first time playing and i love it ..yes there is some rendering i noticed that would be better on my computer but undocked its great !
I have to admit about something.... You are quite wrong about the Dock...
Only devs that i trust are cdpr, id software, santa monica and naughty dog, others not that much
