Years ago I was taught when onions got that all just taking bend them over to the ground and sort of break the stem but don’t break it off. That will force the onions to go larger route bulbs which is what we want for onions. Don’t know if it’s an excepted gardening technique but it sure seem to work.

Many years ago I had read to "pat them over with a broom when the tips start to brown". I think it encourages them all to ripen at the same time. While the bulbs are forming they need to make all the food they can. Don't try to push them too early.

For the part that connects the drip tape to the main line, Hoss makes a connector that has a ball valve so you can shut off some rows and water only what you want. Tomatoes don't need water as often as peppers and others so I shut the valves on the tomatoes about every other time I water. I find this works much better than the regular connector they provide.

What about winter with the second flock? That chickshaw doesn't look like it would offer the chickens any night time protection during your harsh winters

Olivia, love your Egg sign. I thought you were hanging it out for passersby so you could sell them. It looks good on the new tractor. I love that galvanized metal look.

Consider spraying the foliage with organic insecticidal soap. Or turn some mantises loose on 'em.

When spraying neem oil you need to spray each leaf on the top and the underside of each leaf.

Can't imagine those chickens enjoying walking on the wire. Good luck with getting the eggs out.

I imagine they won't be on the wire much, but spend their time inside largely roosting.

Greenhouses use yellow plastic squares which are sticky. The insects are attracted to the yellow colour land on it then die. Usually hung above plants.
