Schubert - Impromptu in G-Flat Major, Op. 30, No. 3, D899

A gorgeous lyrical piece by Schubert. At times, I can’t help but close my eyes while practicing this because it is just so lovely.
The piece challenged my technique and interpretation abilities: finding the direction of the melody, the change of character, how to transition to the next part, and most of all, getting those inner notes softer than the melody. I realized that playing piano and pianissimo is such a difficult technical skill to master. My teacher also told me to listen to various interpretations of the piece to get ideas how I’d like my interpretation to sound.
Best version recorded after 22 weekly lessons over the last 7 months. While not the best version out there, this is the best version that I can do before reaching the point of frustration.
